Welcome to my channel folks. Motorcycles have been a huge part of my life since I was 16 and needed transport to see my pals. Starting out on a knackered old "Fizzy" all the way to a brand new R1, bikes have been a huge part of my life. I have raced for 10 seasons on 2 strokes, ridden all over Europe on uncomfortable sports bikes and scutched down many a country lane. These days I am more into restoring and reviving old wrecks, specifically late 80's and 90's machines. It's my hobby and passion so why not share these story's...hope you enjoy my ramblings!

This is the story of a Suzuki RGV250K Schick model that I am restoring for a friend. There will be regular update episodes on the progress of the restoration. This episode is a walkaround, highlighting issues and solutions for the restoration.
I love these bikes that will be very nice when you've done it up 👍
Great series, mate. Very enjoyable!
@@neevesybikes thanks fella, appreciate the feedback. It’s my first attempt at this filming and presenting stuff and I am really enjoying it. Loads more to come and I have another 2 bikes lined up waiting for later on in the year too. 👍🏼
@ lovely old job. You’re a natural. I’m a huge RGV250 fan (I’m looking for one to buy) so I’ll look forward to more videos. 👍
@ what are you after bike wise then? A restoration, minter, track?
@@BornaginBikes I'm after a blue and white road-going M in good standard condition. I had a K and N back in the day and want to relive my yoof!
@@neevesybikesoh yes everyone’s favourite that… well funny enough the next bike I am going to restore and film is a UK 1991 M model. I have it stored as I bought it in boxes from a guy last year. So… could be the one for you that 🤣👍🏼
Nice vid, thanks! Is it possible to rebuild a vj21 crankshaft? I read somewhere they were too bad quality to be worth repairing
@@polhomarkho5229 yeah definitely rebuild able pal. I had my VJ21 rebuilt by the same guy this one is going to for my 325cc track bike. It’s perfect 👌🏼
Good to know 🤗 thanks!
I can almost smell that 2 Stroke Oil from this clip. Amazing work Dave
The lovely sound of A dry clutch ❤
Confused. Banana arm only on 90-92 bikes I believe. Not a 90M cos of smaller side panels(2 vent) but has JDM paint scheme. Last try, JDM Vj22m sp 1990.
So its actually a late 1991 RGV250M-SP, one last quiz then Lee for bonus points... There were 2 SP versions for this year, which one is this and what's the Model code pal?
No idea mate. Nice bike though. I’ve got a Pepsi 21 & getting a 22n soon with only 3600 mls on it.
93 p sp?????
@@leemacdonald9760 I’ll give you a clue, check what colour the forks are
Vj22N sp 1992
Vj22N sp 1991
@@leemacdonald9760 extremely close…. The closest yet
This is the closest you have got to correct Lee… but not right yet 😂👍🏼
Had one of these at the end of the 80s after a run of mk3 RGs. Flogged it for deposit on a 500 gamma but failed the finance report for the loan. This is one of my favorite bikes of all time, good luck with it, have fun, nice one!
CoolVid! Love The Bike👍👍
uhhh random guess, 1994 suzuki rgv250 2 stroke
@@lwko2w sorry wrong year and I need the exact model too 🎅🏻👍🏼
Somewhere between 88-98
@@Peachybundah not good enough that pal, more accuracy needed than that😂
@BornaginBikes I'll say 93 just random guess lol
@ nope, I need year and exact model please. Obviously harder than I thought this quiz 🤩
Vj21 ?
@@Harry-og6iwdefinitely not a VJ21 Harry
I have a TL1000R I am wanting to restore. I'm 100% ok with the mechanical side of things but no nothing about restoring components to look factory new etc. Interested to find out how to do it.
I have restored a GK76A Actually a 1990 GSXR400RL-SP a couple of years back. I might do a video on it in the near future. She’s a rare bike too, very beautiful looking 👍🏼
That’s a great base for a resto. I specialise in the GK73A 400’s of the same vintage and the fork stanctions age like milk, I have three project bikes and all have rotten stanctions. Careful with those mirrors, I’ve just had a set restored at considerable expense!
I always thought the Schick replicas had SP suspension but a stock engine but doing a quick google image search it looks like it was purely a paintjob, bit like the 2AW TZR's in the Marlboro and Keiji Tamura schemes.
Yeah the easy way to identify a VJ21 SP is that they are all single seaters without any rear footrests. Doesn’t stop this Schick being just as rare though. Will Make a lovely bike😃
@@BornaginBikes It'll make a bike for sure. Best starting point is something that hasn't been messed with. I doubt most of the major bits on that have ever seen a spanner outside of the factory.
@@gk73man51 This weekend I will be giving the old girl a good wash and taking all the plastics off for episode 2
First! 😅
Yes you are!😆
