I used to think these guys were so cool back when I was a kid and I wanted to hang out with them. Now I think that the lead singer looks a little too much like Nick Fuentes for my liking and the fat guy looks like an anime sperg. The suspenders guy is still cool and the drummer is till hot though!
Kidd Video ran for three (3) seasons/years on NBC from 1984 to 1987. For the 4th season in late 1987, the program moved/bouncing over to CBS in reruns. In 1989-90, the show was revived to local stations as half of the syndicated Wolf Rock Power Hour, with fellow rock and roll cartoon, Wolf Rock TV. The episodes were again repeats, but new music videos were added.
Wow..I have'nt seen this cartoon in years..I was 9 years old when this came out and I use to watch this faithfully on saturday mornings and sundays somstimes when it came on.
Me just now realizing 40 years ago I was watching Cousin Oliver from the Brady Bunch and didn't know it 😂🤯 This song will live in my head rent-free forever.
The thing is, many of the cartoons we grew up with have been in reruns or has since been profiled in some way. But this is one that slipped through the cracks. I haven't seen this since I was a small child. But the into and song is carved I to my brain. Instant trip to the past.
I watched this every Saturday as a kid. I remember when my daughter was 5 in showed it to her and of course she was like, "Mom? Didn't their parents wonder where they were?" Lol
Kidd Video was like a 2-n-1 musical cartoon. They searched for formulas for their videos to look for the clues to battle the evil fat guy named Master Blaster, a greedy producer who wanted 90% of the musician’s cut. Master Blaster couldn’t even get Kidd and his band to go to his performance and do it for free. He was always foiled.
I never really watched the show, but loved this song. It’s so nostalgic. Takes me back to Saturday mornings in the 80s. It gives me a nostalgic lump in my chest. I miss my mom, grandma and aunt.
As a 2-year-old child when this series first aired, I was taught by this intro to fear music in freaky minor tonalities because a freaky cartoon bad guy with a freaky laugh would materialize in the freaky mirror and kidnap me to a freaky parallel universe.

Damn, I wish I could go back and be my 80's kid self again. It was the best time!
Why can’t Disney + stream this?
1:40 my favorite part.
I remember watching it once... Good Lord! I love this!
After NBC canceled Kidd Video in 1985, for syndication DiC was involved in a similar series named Kideo TV.
Holy shit I totally forgot all about that so many memories of the 80s
Man, that brunette chick was cute!
Wasn't the fairy in the Fonz cartoon also always sneezing & causing trouble?
I had major dreams about the actor in the intro who played kidd hmmm
Why can't we buy cds and DVDs?
Did I see( Brady bunch) cousin Oliver?
Closest thing to Heavy Metal that elementary school kids got in the 80s.

The 80's!! Literally the ONLY decade you could ride a scooter and still look cool!!
Basketball, The Pole Vault, Baseball, and at least Football, too.
I loved watching this cartoon on Saturday mornings when I was just a little girl. This really takes me back.
A perfect cross of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Don’t You Want Me”
I forgot Oliver from the Brady Bunch was on this!
In 1987, they put the "CBS StereoSound Where Available" during the opening of Kidd Video reruns!

Ahh yes so the cartoons are nearly over and it’s time for that weird show they dreamed up high on coke…time to turn off the tv and go outside!

Cousin Oliver made slapping tunes

I haven't seen this cartoon in well over 35 years. We used to watch it on Saturdays all the time.
Earth stinks
When you’re doing Wordle and the answer is “video” and it puts this song in your head so you have to come here and watch it.
I thought this was the best show ever.
What's going on here? I'll explain later, let's go!
My wife just said “ay, ay, ay” and I finished her sentence with “we look like cartoons!” lol
Wow, almost a direct rip off of Dungeons and Dragons.

And there you have it.
Along with the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon, this was probably one of the first isekais.
The one kid with the glasses was an iron Eagle. He was part of Doug masters team of young people on the mission to save as father overseas.
