what number did you live at ?...
The house I stopped at .... No 17. Did you live there//
@@colin908 A couple of doors for me .. no 13....lived there from about 1992.... still own it today
@@L663 We moved from there to Grangetown around 1966. Went into the RAF in 1969 and never saw the Square again until 2011 ! Was a shame to see Adamsdown school all houses.... sigh. Anyhow, I loved living there at the time. Was a nice area. Just had a thought.... I think the Chapman family lived at 13 back in the sixties.
@@colin908 I purchased the house from the Chapman family - the old guy had sadly passed away and they sold the house... No 13 is the delux house with the 3rd floor ! The houses were apparently built by the GWR railway for railway workers. Here is one odd story... in the basement i was putting a new concrete floor in and was digging up the old mud floor when i found a deep well under the floor..... was kind of weird and scary.... did all the houses have a well ?
@@simonjefferson Interesting, I never knew they were GWR houses. I still remember No 15 (next door) had the name above their door .... Pen-y-banc,( top of the bank) and as a child I thought it translated as penny bank lol. Strange, there being a well under the basement. I always felt uneasy down in our cellar and to be honest our house was haunted - but not in a scary way - just silly things like closing my bedroom door then as soon as I turned my back it would be wide open - and many other instances in a similar way. I remember the Chapmans very well, three daughters.... and at an engagement party for the eldest daughter her sister sneaked out into the street a glass of beer - my first taste! Didn't like it lol.
what number did you live at ?...
