Having a Hobie Pro Angler 14 kayak is amazing. Especially it’s a 360 foot pedal drive. I don’t regret buying this kayak at all. It’s worth every single penny. I love fishing in San Diego bay.

My fishing setup I’m using a 7,1 ( 10-20 ) Phenix feather rod with Shimano Vanford 5000 with 20 pounds braided line and 20 pounds leader line. I used Gulp Bait 5 inches New Penny shad to catch halibut.

You ever fished the “pipe” up here? The jerk shads work well on the bass species as well. Overall I think I get most bites on the paddle tails.

In the interest of clarity. The smelt and sardine colors have best for me on the pipe reef. Glow has done well also
All halibut all day lol. I’m still curious what they think this new penny color is. I just made a bunch of flukes and shrimp baits in this color. I didn’t think it would work but this color clearly does. Cool video, nice job brotha 👍🏻🦵🏻🦨🗑️🔥💪🏻 🤙🏻

Nice chunks Adan! The wind was pretty bad today. Try using a more natural color 5” Big Hammer Swimbait in SD bay👍 I picked up my ten biggest halibut up to 40” there. Bay smelt, Spottie special, even Christmas Tree lol

That’s some good action. I think I saw you out there today. I got out there late and it seemed like as I was going out everyone was going in. I beat the skunk with a lizard fish. @@garomin Shelter island is a really easy launch. Plenty of parking there too just to the right of the boat launch ramp. That’s for fishing shelter island or harbor island. Mission bay you can launch near the Bahia hotel, grassy sandy area with parking. Or kellogs beach. The downside is you got to get there early to get parking. Upside is it’s close to the bait barge. Please like and subscribe lol. Do you have a channel?

@@garomin using artificial always comes with his challenges. Water temperature and tide conditions have a lot to do with it also. But the water temp is roughly 70° right now and climbing. Most people would suggest starting out with a drop shot and a curly tail or paddle tail 2.8 inch. Just remember not to work it too fast, especially when the water is under 70°. Green or brown drop shot 2.8 inch paddle tail for bay bass, and 3 to 4 inch white fluke on the drop shot for halibut. Many bites come when you’re not moving it so don’t forget to change it up and pause here in there.
