Here I’m flying 100mw transmitter power and 25mw vtx power

Both fly really well!

Look at it this way,one day the stock gimbals will wear out(as it's plastic)the alloy gimbals will not wear out.

@@cyclops-fpv Oh you aren't wrong. In fact I feel like my throttle gimbal has a piece of sand or something because it kind of "rubs" now.

I printed them myself from thingiverse and some slip on ones on printables website.these ones are PLA+(tpu is too soft)

That's your opinion,and with the other more expensive versions I would agree but £60 is "pocket" change to me and it does feel better for this radio for me at least.

Yeah I prefer the stick switches but I've got used to using the latching type,maybe Radiomaster will bring out a conversion to swap,I'm sure I've watched a Albert Kim(or marble kit)video for one of the radio's which did exactly that.🤔

@cyclops-fpv I hear ya. I don't think it would be too difficult to swap switches, but I'm leaning towards owning both the Boxer and the Pocket. If the Boxer doesn't feel right to me, maybe I'll modify the Pocket, but I'm actually pretty adaptable. I can get used to most anything. These are pretty small preferences I'm talking about. One of the fun things about the hobby is fine tuning your kit, though, right? Thanks for sharing your experience and expertise.

Cheers Matt, looking forward to your flight video and thoughts,oddly enough I didn't need to insert that tiny screw,I used the original pocket ones like you did but didn't encounter your problem.

Yes same height you have to adjust for mode 1 or mode 2 which you just loosen a screw to adjust,the sticks are the same as the original ones there's no difference to the height as I've noticed.

I had two lite radios burnt one out(,my fault)and the other still works well,modded mine up by fitting a removal antenna and got over 400 metres range,probably do more but it was in the biggest field I could find at the time.

@@cyclops-fpv oh wow. Yeah - the other thing they don't warn you about FPV - get ready to reorganize your life or have gear/parts/drones everywhere. I've got that LiteRadio somewhere... was hoping to give it to a friend to get them in the sim and flying w/ me.

​@@cyclops-fpv The most FPV thing ever just happened to me... after successfully installing the new gimbals and testing them out, etc. I thought... good time to backup the SD card in the controller, all the new profiles, since last time... Damaged the flipping SD slot taking the card out - now it won't read any cards. So the controller is nerfed.. ugh! I mean it's under RM warranty... but how long will that be!

Calibrate the gimbals last after you've set the spring tension etc

I got these from Radiomaster themselves and the Anodised ones are the mini for Zorro only but I would of thought these will be made in different colours soon

Thank you 👍,i could have gone further but what you have to watch out for is the battery usage when I was halfway through the field I was already on 3.85 volt per cell and had to make sure I had enough power to get back especially if there is a headwind.ive tried this on my Flywoo flylens 85 on a 650mAh battery and it couldn't make it there and back(battery went flat halfway through the return journey)

If yours is a spi Elrs receiver you'll find the bind button on the betaflight reciever tab page,press that then go to your lua script on the transmitter and press bind and it should work,make sure both major versions match ie V2 or V3.good luck👍

Underneath the flightboard next to motor 3 plug(near the camera plug)do not press the boot button In-between motor 1 and USB port or you'll have a bad day.

@@tommypoteat9433 it's on the other end of the board in-between the two motor plugs near the camera plug.its a tiny button (the same size as the boot button)

@@cyclops-fpv is the rtf version the same as the bind and fly version meaning are the bind button located in different areas

Download the stock cli dump after you put it in bootloader mode OR your ESCs might need reflashing,should be on D-shot 300.

850 mAh battery can give me 11 minutes so could fly it further if I can find a longer field.

Man, that's great distance for that setup. I think your vtx may have been the limiting factor followed closely by battery capacity. Your receiver really hung in there for spi. I was surprised. Thanks for sharing that Cyclops. Happy flying amigo 🫡 🍻.

@@Sonic_Ox i think it can go further but I need to find a longer field,vtx power can go to 400mw on this model I was only on 100mw.i did this field again a week later on my MOBULA 8 at 100mw this time i did it end to end(1.6km)and vtx held perfectly but flew slightly lower to ground.

Good luck with it. I'm sure you can get further with more power from the VTX. With my 7" analog unit I can get just over a mile before the video feed breaks up and that's on 800mW of output and unobstructed line of sight at about 300ft of altitude! I was expecting more range. Yes but this is a spi receiver with a ceramic Antenna not a UART based one,much less range max range is about 1.5km

Agreed the R line gold is the best even with the ph.20 plug I got ten minutes flight on my crux 3 1s quad yesterday.i want to try out the 'lava'layered cell battery next.

No buzzer but you can add one.

That's odd because my flylens 85 and Mobula 8 are both 2s and they both come stock with these props on.🤔

This MOBULA 7 I was testing it on is my test rig,im going to build another model at some point and try your suggestion it's only doing 2 minutes on a 525mAh battery with BT.02 connector,then lose connection on the goggles because power drops too quickly and it's doing some funky reading on the voltage screen.2.6volts but when I go to charge it battery voltage is at 3.7volts!also battery gets warm after each flight.

Probably different weight class,mine is Walksnail at 84g without battery but it's cold so will affect battery performance,maybe in summertime will run longer flight times.

Highly recommend getting one it's fast for a 2s and handles Acro perfectly even with the bi-blade props.

It's nice to meet you Cyclops. I just finished my first DIY build. It's a 7" as I'm not really into acro flying but prefer long, stable, sweeping flight for capturing cinematic video footage. My next build will be a cinewhoop that I can fly indoors when the weather is bad. I do enjoy watching all types of flight videos and meeting friends all over the world. What I like best about this UAV hobby is viewing snippets of the lives of friends in far off places and not having to buy a plane ticket to visit lol. Dunno gonna check with a multimeter,but I can always solder it to a 5v pad if needed.

Yes front left ring,but I've now got a Walksnail HD system on it now.

Takes abit of getting used too but with practice very handy indeed especially if you turn off LBT on the radio and the power goes up,also tested on Antennas and the BETAFPV ones were tuned spot on.

That was a 450 because it was lightest I had,ive got 750s and 850s 1s batteries to try yet.

25mw will do over 400 metres easily with no obstructions as I proved in another videos I did as long as Antenna placement is correct.

450,525 mAh fits perfectly but any others are a bit tighter.

Yes I do fly it from time to time and I agree it's a lot of fun,on expert mode it doesn't fly that great but in mid position switch it will do power loops and seen people fly it inverted but I never could,it can carry a camera to fly FPV and I've done a video which I flew 30 minutes non stop on one battery.

Difficult to tell,I did one flight with a 450mah and 2nd one with a 525mah battery and due to the winter cold(li-po S hate the cold)I got what I expected in this weather,in the summer I should get a extra minute out of them.gonna try the GEMFANS tri-blades next.
