    I admire the attempt, but this is wrong almost entirely after arriving in Rivendell for the movies, and completely wrong for the books.

    It’s funny how it doesn’t look like it’s far but they traveled nearly 20 years or something I forgot but it was long long time not like the movies where it looks like it was only months or few years

    On 11 January - 12, T.A. 3019, the Fellowship of the Ring attempted to cross the Misty Mountains by the Redhorn Gate.[5] They came into a fierce blizzard and could not go any further because of the deep snow. Thus were they defeated by the ill will of the mountain and were forced to cross under the Misty Mountains through the Mines of Moria.[1]

    Basically this video provides U-bar at all footing edges and at wall top. However, this almost never happened since the tensile stresses are negligible in these areas. The private owners will cry about the high cost but public entities probably don't care.

    Frodo actually starts his journey by going _west_ out of Hobbiton, before turning south, then south-east, before heading due east. The book doesn't explain why: Frodo's excuse for leaving was that he was going to Buckland, which is in any case to the east of Hobbiton. It is also strange that Frodo should choose this round-about route, since Pippin - who was not privy to Frodo's plans - went with him. And since Pippin thought they were headed for Buckland *(or so he had Frodo believe),* it is odd that Pippin never questioned the route - or that Frodo never wondered why Pippin didn't question it.

    So is all of this rebar necessary for all concrete walls OR can this be simply for load bearing? I am only looking for what needs to be had for an exterior non-load bearing wall next to a walkway … TYIA and God bless

    • @neilmackenzie4920
      @neilmackenzie4920 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the slow response. So each case is different and there should be a design done for each case. This wall in particular was supporting a 1 in 2 slope up to a highway so needed to be pretty robust. You wouldn't need anywhere near this amount of reinforcement for a non-load bearing wall next to a walkway.

    This looks like an excellent retaining wall for a Seismic Active area. I have a home standing on concrete columns and would like to create a retaining wall like this to further fortify the structure.
