Helicopter Tour & Dogsledding on the Knik Glacier and Mining for Gold at Girdwood in Alaska
The highlight of our Alaska trip for our girls was easily dogsledding on the Knik Glacier. They loved interacting with the sled dogs, flying in the helicopter over the glacier, and drinking from glacial pools.
We also enjoyed taking the Alaska Railroad to Girdwood and doing some hiking and panning for gold before enjoying a salmon bake.

Our family had an amazing time fishing for sockeye salmon in Alaska. The early morning wake-up call was worth it and we were able to freeze and bring home all of the salmon we caught. For more details, visit: houseofnasheats.com/salmon-fishing-on-the-kenai-river/ We were also lucky enough to be able to fly to see bears in Lake Clark National Park. Flights had been cancelled all week because of ...

December 2023 Highlights: Christmas Concerts, Gingerbread Houses, and Celebrating the Season
มุมมอง 4511 หลายเดือนก่อน
The holidays can feel like such a whirlwind but we tried to slow down and enjoy soaking up the moments this year. Going to the girls' holiday choir concerts was one of my favorite memories of the season. There were many Christmas movies watched, carols sung, yummy treats enjoyed, and excitement shopping for each other and planning the perfect presents for Christmas morning. But we also tried to...

October 2023 Highlights: Cross Country Meets, Disneyland, Yosemite, NYC & Halloween

October always manages to be our busiest month of the year. We packed in a lot between cross country practices and meets for the girls, a surprise birthday trip for Amy to Disneyland for two days, an unexpected work trip to NYC for Amy that Paul got to tag along for, our annual Yosemite trip, and of course Halloween. We had our 13th annual Halloween Party and had so much fun doing donuts on a s...
September 2023 Highlights: Beach, Cross Country & House Remodel
มุมมอง 18ปีที่แล้ว
We had a relaxing September getting back into the swing of things with school schedules. We started things off with a beach day with our friends, the Karrens. Then the girls got fresh new haircuts for the school year and had their first ever cross country meet. They didn't love cross country, but they enjoyed spending time with their friends and learned a lot from it. We were also able to squee...

We had a pretty chill July spent hanging out at swim practice most days, swim meets on the weekends, and watching the house remodel progress. We had a nice low-key 4th of July enjoying a local parade and having friends over to burgers and croquet in the evening.

June has Father's Day and Paul's birthday, so we had fun celebrating him. We also got a quick trip in to Utah for sports camps for the girls (soccer for Rose and swim for Clara). We got to spend time with cousins going to the pool, hiking, and getting shave ice. The girls started summer swim with the PVC Dolphins and had some great meets. Other fun highlights include watching our garden grow an...

Exploring Moab, Utah, Arches National Park, and the Grand Canyon with Kids!
I have a bear story for you. My nephew and I booked a fly in fishing trip for sliver salmon in mid August some years back, across the Cook Inlet from Soldotna. The unnamed river fed right into the Cook Inlet. This camping spot was used for a long time and the bears learned to look for caught fish at this spot. We flew in and there were to guides a a few other small parties. We were there 2 nights, and each night a large grizzly would approach the camp. Whoever heard or saw a bear would yell out to there bears and they would leave. The second night all the parties left except us, and sure enough I heard a bear sloshing in the river, and I peeked out the tent and saw huge head. The bear was standing up looking toward me. Our tents were on high ground near the river. We had fish in the boat but they were covered in canvas so the bear didn't smell them. I didn't yell at the bear I just laid back down and hoped this bear would poke his head into our tent. The week before we were told a bear did that. I could sleep but when daylight came I got up, no one els e was up, and there was bear hair all over the ground near our tents. The guide said it must have slept there. The fishing was great, we limited out 2 days in a row. I used Mepps #5 spinners. The coho would come in schools in a channel right near our camping site. You really couldn't miss catching a fish they were so thick. Some had sea lice on them. I brought a large homemade cooler with me that held our fish that I left in the rented car back in Soldatna and it boarded our flights back to Philadelphia. All the fillets remained fresh for the trip.
I love it i like it the country very nice

Great way to spend a day with the family!! I miss home when I see these videos!
Stumbled across this randomly… but hey, thanks for spending some of your hard-earned money visiting our paradise. Can’t believe we’re living here now, but here we are!
It was our first time visiting Florida with our youngest and we wanted to see as much as we could! There is so much there to see and do and I know we hardly even scratched the surface.
Awesome! Come back soon & tell all your friends! I was born and raised here and went to university here but had to leave for career reasons. So happy we got to early retire and move back! Thanks again
Can you tell me your travel route? We would be flying in from RI. We did the trip 15 years ago without kids. Thanks! 😊
Wow lovely
Beautiful
Those fields are private property, so you aren't allowed to walk in the tulip fields.
We were careful to never walk in the fields or tread on the flowers themselves, only a few feet into some of the rows and only in locations where the signs and behavior of others allowed it.😊
@@houseofnashtravels It is still illegal entering someones property, just as it is in your own country! And that others do this too is just a really weak argument. People, like you, are not only damaging the flowers, but also spreading diseases this way.
Awww this is sweet Amy. The girls are so little! I love that you work so hard and are posting these now- and the care to make the opening sequence with clips from their ages here! Also this is great because we now have our daughter and are taking our guest international trip with her this December so it’s relevant to us now!
This is Emily- em wonderland BTW. I changed my handle (on you tube) when I stopped shooting weddings after grad school!
I wondered if it was you, lol! Hi Emily!
So exciting that you are taking her on an international trip! Where are you heading?
niice ! 🤗
Thank you!
Amazing trip!
It really was!
Looks like so much fun. Thanks for sharing 🙂
It was a great trip! You're welcome!
So fun!!!
It was such a great trip! Thanks, Kathy!
