Thank you so much! 😄Yes, tried OD & dist, but all they did was amplify the volume of the clarinet signal rather than mess it up. I have a theory about this, if you're interested, but would also be interested to see if others have the same experience. 🤔

@@thesongsystem6982 would love to hear your theory! From my experience, the overdrive is - on acoustic instruments and in comparison to the distortion - interesting as it seems to bounce the level (like a magnyfiying glass) of the incoming signal, which is perfect for soft noise sounds or gesture i.e.

@@rlanguillat The theory is basically that guitar signal is pretty much a sine wave, so Dist and OD messing with it has a tangible effect, whereas the signal from the clarinet already has a lot of unpredictable overtones, so it requires the "broken circuit" of a fuzz to actually sound distorted. Basically, the clarinet is already pretty messed up! Also, I agree with what you say about Dist and OD for small sounds - I really liked that effect when I played with such pedals. There wasn't enough grit for me though, as something to be added to melodic phrases as a timbral feature.

It's a reference to the movie Easy Rider. One of the characters is referred to as Captain America, and as a morally ambiguous opportunist he seems like a much better representation than the super hero... 😜
