Breaking the Chains: Understanding Drug and Alcohol Addiction | A Path to Recovery
Such a lovely couple. I like Michelle and she's got a very supportive husband
Did the alcohol contribute to the breast cancer? They are saying women should only have a couple of drinks per week. Very frightening!
When one is drunk, one is simply possessed. One is no more oneself. I drink whiskey nearly daily for 22 years. I was a functional Alcoholic. I am absolute sober since 2022. Zero alcohol. I am very proud of myself and my Guardian Angel. I couldn't have done it alone. No therapy. Nothing. I am simply a new person entirely. I rejoice every minute because I no more drink alcohol. Alcohol, where is your victory !? You no more have power over me. It is finished.
Wow you got an amazing hubby there ❤😢 I lost mine too it was together 18 years he's alive but still an addict in Denile
@@janecook6034 I’m so sorry to hear that and if there is anything we can do we’re here. Feel free to drop us a call if you just want someone to talk to x
Happy for you guys ❤
Well done Michelle x
Well done Michelle, using your experience for good ❤
Really well said. The girl spoke very well. I hope shes okay.
Well said Michelle. I relapsed after 18 years. Partly because of going through the menopause when i didnt know that i was. It changed me so much mentally that i didnt know who on earth i was. I also lost everything i loved, suffering with severe Osteoarthritis at 37. Im also Autistic and had a lot of stress issues. But im just coming up to 3 years of sobriety. You spoke so well about your relationship to it all. Much love to you from Somerset.
anything to stay relevant i guess
Very brave of them both to talk about this. Very helpful.
Hi Rehubs. Thanks for the video. Are there any plans to upload a video without the classical music overlaid? The speaker, Marcantonio Spada can't be heard over the music. Hope so, thanks!
Would've like to hear his story..
What a blessing he is. Through sickness and health personified. Well done Michelle remain grateful always... All the best💫
Several of my buddys I grew up with are dead at 42yo. One lost his business and slipped into drinking vodka, he ended up on 4-5 litres of vodka a day ! Alcohol can get hold of you at any age. I have just stopped booze, got into too much during covid, 4-6 bottles of wine a week, in binges. OK not the extreme amounts, but it was enough the make me feel like crap and 10 years older. Fridge now full of sparkling mineral water and salad, time for a health mission.
So sad for your friends and happily you learned from your friends sadly outcome the lesson of the value of life. Congratulations 🎉🎈
How tf do you down 5 litres a day? At my worst I could get through 2L and I was an absolute mess. Crazy withdrawals and just about everyone has commented talking about just how extreme my drinking was. I agree there are people worse than me but I just find it hard to believe how somebody could do 5L without it killing them and do it everyday for a long period. Just absolute insanity.
@@aylex1974 Indeed. We have to deal with our problems, Alcohol will never fix any of them and mostly make them alot worse.
Shes aged very bsd unfortunately
This was lovely ❤ I didn’t realise she was in recovery.
She is thriving and it is beautiful to see 💜
This literally touches my heart
❤❤❤❤
lol
Michelle and Hugh you are an incredible inspiration. Listening to you at the Health and Wealth Summit and sitting in front of all those people takes pure guts to be so open about your past demons. I have been in Hughs position for 15 years and every single word you both said I so understood. I too had hope and now for my wife it has been 3 years sober. It is thanks to couples like you being open, being authentic sharing your stories using your celebrity status for good that let's other couples know there is light. Drink is the demon not the person. I for one will always be grateful for how brave both you and Hugh are and to share your story as for me being a man I kept it all secret for 15 years. So thank you again. That photo I got with you reminds me now of the strength to show that I was right like Hugh to hold on to hope and stay with my wife as life now is so different and for the better.
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt experience with us! Please go and watch Gabor Mate and his explanation of how addiction has its roots in trauma (pain) and the addiction is used to soothe your pain, it acts as medication.
Are they mixing it with fent ? God it all sounds so terrible
Ketamine is really impure nowadays and you just don’t know what it’s getting mixed with which makes it all the more dangerous
So glad she got sober , hes lovely, remember alanon x ❤
Thankyou for this genuine conversation,,keep strong great couple

Зачем уродовать эту великую песню
To an alcoholic one drink is like the open gateway to hell. I’m nearly 11 years sober…it’s a real disease & as an addictive personality, there’s multiple layers of addictions…relationship addictions…etc…the root cause problem is the dysfunctional psychological relationship with oneself. Healing the wounded soul which essentially is the problem requires an everyday commitment. Learning to sit with one’s thoughts & emotions & learning to acknowledge them as part of one’s psyche.
As we say in recovery - 1 is too many, 1000 is never enough. We completely agree with you… keep smashing recovery 💪
I would disagree, and say that the root cause is trauma. What you’re describing is the manifestation of the reaction to trauma.
Me? Just hanging around 🙃
