You have seborrheic dermatitis, it is Not dandruff, it is a fungal infection of the scalp. It comes from stuff we have or had slapped on our scalps, not washing our hair properly and/or sugar/carbs that we eat. Nothing but shampoo belongs on our scalp.

I’m at the stage in my hair journey where I’m considering locs, and love the look of your past locs. I was just wondering if you would be able to tell me how many locs you had, the thickness, and what style of locs it was. your hair is so beautiful! I'm excited to see this journey. i hope i will be lucky enough to retain as much length. would you ever perm again? I've been loc'd for 6 years but was a loose natural before that. For some reason I've been considering a perm whenever I comb them out. I live in the caribbean and I sweat a lot so a silk press might not last as long. Also, I definitely understand what you mean by your locs becoming your identity. I feel like it's starting to affect my self-esteem even with a fresh retwist.

This is exactly how i felt with my 12 yr old locs that I recently combed out. I LOVE curls and the longer they got, the harder it was to hold the kind of look I've always adored. Your hair is so healthy. Now I'm on a journey to healthy loose natural hair. I still have the tailbone length, but I don't have the health! :-(
