This issue was very useful to me. Stuck the squigs and herders on a 25mm square base and used them for Warhammer the Old World. I don't think I will ever play AoS again. I have played it thrice, but it is not for me.

The problem with these magazines in 2024 is that newsagents basically no longer exist so it is extremely difficult to purchase them

I don’t think I’m gonna get too into this magazine series, but I’ve just started painting 40k minis and I’ve gone for space marines and my chosen chapter is the Salamanders Issue 3 has 5 flamethrower marines, and Salamanders loooovvveee fire so….I’m gonna go get me some flame marines

Another awesome review - hope to see more on combat patrol as appreciate the comments you make on whether a 2nd copy is useful, paint and wash changes, alternative builds if possible etc….🤘🏻🎸⚔️

Great video - have been following for the last couple of Hachette releases - you are so correct as the dnd one is now changing to dnd 2024 or whatever - how can combat patrol change for us as builders ? Is it a small change here and there like kill team ? All the lore has been wasted and am feeling cheated 👍🏻

Now the magazines are £10 each I’m not sure if there’s going to be much of a saving if any over just getting the actual combat patrol box set from a third party retailer, with 20% off that’s £80, and some of the sets will most likely be over 2 or 3 issues, but like you said you are getting the rules and lore as well

That full shot on the back cover is the old collection. It's missing the changed models for certain factions. I've subscribed, so I won't be getting my first issues for a while, not until issue 2 is out. I'm just trying to decide how to paint each faction. I like that the cards are included in the collection. Saves having to keep pulling out the data sheet pages for each unit. Really interested to see what they're like.

This has been fun. I did the premium subscription, and the only army I was not that interested in was the Kharadron Overlords. The Gloomspite Gitz was the surprise hit for me, and I can see me buying more for that army. Combat Patrol 40k isn't jumping out at me, so I think I wait 18-24 months for when they do the next AOS based subscription on the new edition.

Shame the run wasn't as popular as imperium, would have been nice to have another 10 issues.

I can't believe it's over 😢 well, I still need 2 issues then to decide what to do with everything I've got unbuilt 😂

Congratulations on 80 episodes of the 80 issues of Stormbringer magazine! It's been a blast. I'm waiting on six more issues until my lot is completed. 'Not gonna lie', you did very well.

I actually do like that white cloak. The one thing I've complained about is they've shown us how to paint a basic trooper but not shown elite units and characters, so we don't know how to paint capes, etc, officially. The one model I've painted with a Cape I've done black, but she is from the ruination chamber, so I've actually used darker colours over most of the model. When I next do a no ruination model, I'll try the white Cape and see if it grows on me more. Great video.

I only have the first 30 issues, but the stories so far are tied in to each other and are happening simultaneously. So they are releasing the parts in the order chronological order.

So far its 1 vote for Build the Megazord and 1 vote for Combat Patrol on my poll post. Just received my latest delivery today and can't wait to bust out the Stormdrake Guard, might be a triple issue special video. 😅

Unfortunately I'm still along way from getting these bad boys. I'm not allowing myself to double up on these issues as I'm about to go hard with combat patrol And don't really play AOS so just want painting projects. So it will be a couple months away for me. On plus side, I'm actually just a few models away from completing the imperium magazine minis, just a few necrons to go.

The next issue with a sprue will be able to build a Knight-Draconics so worth picking up an extra

I really hope they do an Iron Thanes guide for them. I'm probably too late, but I might order a second set of these guys, but I do have the full Order side of the magazine to still build 😅. Sadly, I've been laid up with a trapped nerve, which is only starting to working It's way free, and I've been on like 3 new types of medication for it. I'm not too sure about Combat Patrol. there are too many factions I don't need. May do the first 20 issues just for the first premium kit.

Only five issues left! I'm still waiting on issues 71 - 74

I did the wood with the Wyldwood then drybrushed with the bark drypaint, worked quite well The Stormdrake are on two sprues, so two issues with a sprue each then one with bases and flying stem One of the sprues can also make the Knight-Draconis so you will want an extra of that particular issue

I so hope there's an Iron Thanes paint guide for the Stormdrake Guard. I'm still unsure about Combat Patrol magazine as well.

Interesting video as always 👍. I did wait to see what GW would bring out after skaventide starter set wise before jumping into the new addition. Ended up getting skaventide in the end though from chaos card's as it was a good discount price free shipping and used clear pay , so 4 easy to digest payments. Skaventide also gives a full rule book for AOS and some nice extra models which tipped the balance of me waiting for the ultimate starter set.

I think these new starter sets are great. The introductory one is basically a battle in a box approach - a perfect taster. I get that the push remove models and low end brushes aren't likely to be great but it's just what you want for a taster before you commit to the buffet :) The pricing will be key but I imagine they'll follow the 40k pricing more or less, which is pretty good. Although anyone thinking about the ultimate set (or whatever the top end one is) would be better off getting Skaventide while it's still available.

Pricing we can look at their contemporary products in the 40k range. So 40, 80 & 125 (I think) Personally I'd grab the ultimate set and the hobby essentials set. Though the exclusive poses of the clanrats from the paint set look great to help make units more unique. If I decide to do a Get Started for AoS I'd be using the ultimate set and the tools set. If you want to see the twist off frames in action gw have put out a video for each of these sets.

I just got my shipment and I'm up to issue 33. Are they going to send me a 2nd ring binder? The one they've sent in no way is going to hold 80 issues.

I would never suggest anyone buy the Tyranid combat patrol box, it was refreshed at the beginning of 10th edition so isn’t going to be replaced anytime soon. The reason it is out of stock is that it isn’t a good value while the starter sets exist so people don’t order it and GW know this and likely don’t produce many of them. The Ultimate starter set is £104 at Wayland games and contains the entire combat patrols for both the Tyranids and space marines, plus terrain and the core rules.

Truly insane value. I was sleeping on this issue, cause I thought they were 5 of the old sculpt like originally announced. Absolutely getting a couple of these!

I actually like the idea of having a little of every army.

In forbidden planets defense sometimes they don't always get delivery on time in store ( once they got 3 weeks at once as stormbringer issues weren't delivered weekly like expected) AND No I don't work there I pop in every week
