      @ John Doyle . The stories he tell are made up . Been exposed as a fantasist. Actually quite a creepy unpleasant guy. Ripped off many small businesses and families .

    Complete fraud. Read “the greatest hoax on earth”. Was in prison most of his teenage years when he claims to have done these things. Petty thief. Stalked women. Total liar. Shame on everyone who wanted to believe these crazy stories. He is no hero.

    I've listened to many of his speeches and they are all the same. The story never changes. He states that he normally talks about check fraud ect and then says that he was asked to talk about his life. He uses the exact same words everytime. He's the so-called middle child of four children. It's like it's scripted. He could easy talk about other parts of his life but it's always the same. The same airline pilot story. The same doctor story. The same lawyer story. The same French jail story. Thing is he travelled to 26 countries and only tells the same stories. The only that has changed is the years he was married, ages of his children and years with the FBI.

    a great talk, and a fine book, as is also the CD-talking-book version most interesting, the book also provides complementary detail that Lewis' THE BIG SHORT also discusses...especially the discussion about MODEL-DEPENDENCE around 14min in. I like Zuckerman's book more .... just my opinion; both are worthwhile.

    This mans story is much better than the Hollywood version. I heard it in my first college class and was disappointed in the movie. Maybe that's not fair, but I felt they left too much out

    • @Asht-mj4wy
      @Asht-mj4wy ปีที่แล้ว

      The film is at best 5% accurate. Sadly he didn’t do any of the things he claims. Certainly not in the way he describes them anyway . Was mostly a petty thief and stalker.

  • @tempo1889
    @tempo1889 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    That and he also was a master at looking the part. Drove an expensive car, wore expensive clothes, didn't work much. Sounds like a few Dr's. Pre 911 like you said now post 911 flip it EVERYONE black, white, red, blue, purple is a lier, cheat, terrorist. Your neighbor farts out of turn turn him into the FBI. Little Billy doesn't have a beginners chemistry set it's a lab where they make weapons of mass destruction. Nice world isn't it?

  • @camrenrichards1742
    @camrenrichards1742 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very true. This was all Pre 9/11 so the only real distrust was hints of racism. If you were a white, wealthy adult, you weren't questioned for much, especially with the fake backgrounds that Frank had.

  • @tempo1889
    @tempo1889 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Back in the 60's I am sure it was all snail mail. That and he gave himself a pretty common name so even if you could attempt to check him out you look for a Dr. Frank Williams you would probably get 1000 different Dr. Frank Williams in the US alone. Plus I think back then people just took at face value what they were told.

  • @camrenrichards1742
    @camrenrichards1742 11 ปีที่แล้ว
