Dang, I am impressed with myself. I hit this blend pretty much spot on. I am not sure that happens too much for me. 🤣 From smokingpipes.com This mixture is absolutely ideal for the evening, ergo. We borrowed the name from the diaries of Samuel Pepys, Esquire. Finest grade Virginia and Maryland type tobaccos are carefully aged and blended with Greek "Oriental" leaf and top grade Cyprian Latakia....
🧐 God is Orderly, Therefore we Should be Orderly 🤔

Welcome to the Pipefarthing! NEW channel!
I've done one blend - about a month ago. I mixed a cherry flavor with a whiskey flavor about 50/50 just because there wasn't much left of either one. (don't know the brands or tobacco types as they came from glass jars in a cigar shop a few years ago) Smoked some of it this morning on the way to work. I think I like the combo better than I liked them individually. Before mixing, I did smell them both at the same time to see if I would like the resulting combination. For me it's about the smell. (Remember, I'm a total noob)
I'm still pretty new to pipe smoking so dont have any advice. But do have some blending tobaccos so looking forward to what others have to offer.
This is for fine tuning once you’ve decided what components you want and their rough proportions. Microblending 1oz at a time does not yield the same flavor as blending at least 2-4oz and letting it sit in a jar for a week or so. You need to make enough each time so that you can change (or add/delete) one component and really taste the difference across more than just the few bowls you get from an ounce. If you have a lot of components you’ll likely benefit from doing 4oz each iteration. You need enough to try at least a few bowls in a cob, briar, Meer, short, tall, narrow, wide,…each. Really fine tuning? Do 50g or 100g test batches so you can vary 5g at a time.
I still consider myself a newbie, but have you considered pressing it or aging it?
Thank you for the video and sharing of your favorite place. I have not done really much at all in blending, except for doing some pressing, and like Jeffrey mentioned in another comment that might be something to try with your blending journey. Your description of your favorite place my recommendation is to take a chance with some of your blend and put more Latakia in it. God Bless You😊
My only advice is from my mistake and that would be to measure all of the tobaccos and to write it down and take good notes.
I have no advise, but am very interested in the comments you will get. Good luck ! 🍀🤞 Pressing for 1 week tends to bring out sweetness in my limited experience.
I enjoyed this perspective. We often have a skewed vision of perfection and fail to ask what we were created for, and how to fulfill that purpose.
Thanks Ethan!
An alternative thought. 48 should not be interpreted in isolation given that it contains a "therefore" in most if not all English translations. It must be viewed in its context of vv43-48 to get its meaning. It is speaking of our treatment of others. God Bless!
Great addition to my reflections. Thanks! God bless you!
Great topic. God bless
Love it!
Good ole Mrs. Wilson!
Great article and I feel the same way.
Thanks for that, made me smile
This is my favorite Esoterica blend, shame its difficult to come by.
Great video. Unfortunatly we dont get the esoterica blends in Sweden.😢
Thank you, Sir! That’s rather unfortunate. Cheers! 🍻
Interesting video. Total noob here. When I was younger, I smoked Captain Black (white, gold, & cherry) and John Middleton's Apple Pipe Tobacco. Took a break and then started again a few years ago, only picking up what smelled good to me in the jars and not paying attention to the types of tobacco. I'm trying to pay more attention now.
Hey Doc! It’s a fun rabbit trail to go down! Enter cautiously because it can suck you in! 🤣
I recently snagged my first Esoterica. It was Margate. Only smoked once so far and wasnt that impressed, but im sure it will probably get better.
At least the rims are too expensive (at least in MI they’re not too badly priced) 🍻
Fwiw, the name is probably an LOTR reference.
Appreciate the insight, I like your take, I need to start calling my videos impressions rather than reviews, makes a lot more sense 🤙
Thanks! Right on 👍 🍻
Great video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
My favorite blends at the current time are Peterson's My Mixture 695, Cornell &Diehl-Autumn Evening, and Cornell & Diehl's Expresso.
Solid list! 🍻
Anyone have any experience with quail? I have VERY minimal space, and thought they might be a good place to start.

Good stuff…I love my MM Mark Twain …. Thinking of getting a forever stem for it eventually.
Nice!
Spot on, and your reminder of Mother Teresa’s experience is so relevant. Having order sure does help us stay focused and moving forward even when we don’t *feel* God’s presence or direction.
Congratulations on the new baby!!! I'd say that's well worth breaking out some Frog Morton. 🤠And using that meerschaum for an extra smooth smoke is the right answer. Thanks for sharing this moment with us fellas!
Right on!
Enjoyed the video…Top 3 for fall…C&D Autumn Evening; Country Squire Angry Cornishman; and Country Squire Shepherds Pie. Not making the cut…Corn Cob Pipe and a Button Nose…but I may give it another try.
Very solid list!
Thanks for sharing!
Fall top 3. Haunted Bookshop HH Old Dark Fired 3 Nuns Black
I love the HH old dark fired 🔥
Have ever tried Paul’s Pipe Shop Arrowhead? It’s in Flint, Michigan only 45mins away from Campbells. Also try Number 17 from Campbells. Also Haymarket or Acadia from Hill & Hill in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
Sure have. It’s good stuff! We opened a tin from the 50s last month. Unfortunately there was bunch of rust. It was still fun! I am heading to Cambells tomorrow and will take a look at #17. 🍻
I think that mine will be Gawith Hoggarth best brown Aromatic flake, Solani aged burly Flake, Ennerdale is always a welcome smoke, Peterson 3ps and Salty Dogs to name a few. Enjoy the rest of your weekend buddy.
Wonderful list!!!🍻
Mark, I appreciate this topic. Being orderly, dependable, and responsible is not just good for us but for those around us, it shows respect to those we live and work with. A line I use often, from an anonymous source: "Be where you said you be when you said you would be there having done what you said you would do." Applies to our personal and professional relationships as well as our relationship with God.
@@dakflyer spot on brother! You’ll need to join me on some videos soon. I think some convos in the barn will be in order. 🍻
Get you some land in Mississippi son!
@@thepipecottage3301 I like Mississippi, but not sure I would like to live there. I like Alabama and Kentucky more. Someday perhaps…Cheers brother! I hope you’re well. 🍻
One I like is Captain Earle's Private Stock, made by C & D. That one's a full, rich English, but not overpowering. One I dislike is Oriental Silk, also by C & D. From Tobacco Reviews -- "Perique, bright flake, Turkish flake and bright Virginia ribbon combine to make a memorable smoke." Yes, it invokes thoughts of licking Tabasco sauce off a sheet of coarse sandpaper. Definitely memorable but no silk.
🤣 love that description. I have not had captain Earle’s private stock. I love English blends so I will have to keep an eye out for that. Cheers!
Starting with 75 chickens on 5 acres in chicken tractor and poultry fencing,3 gardens and work a full time job . Cut back. To 30 chickens and cover crop all garden this year .
Sounds great! Do you plan to expand as you get a hold of the 30 chickens and cover crop? Also, what cover crop did you grow? Cheers!

Just came across ur channep... I enjoyed the video 👍
My favorite fall blend is Old Joe Krantz. I smoke it year round. I also like Haunted Bookshop.
I almost bought some Old Joe Krantz on Saturday, but practiced some temperance and stopped at two bulk blends 😁🤣
Im curious how you get the labels for your Mason jar tops??
Pasted the pic in Word and used a circle format for the picture. Stretched it to the right size. Print, laminate, cut. If you email me (description) I can send you the word document and you can just replace the current pics. 🍻
I seriously miss Dunhill 965. I’m not usually a fan of English blends, I prefer aromatics, but D-965 was incredible. Scotty’s Salmon River is the one that screams Autumn Chill for me and Lane’s IC is my winter favorite.
Nice list! Does Peterson 965 compare for you, or just not there in your opinion? 🍻
@@thepipefarthing I tried it. I’m not very cultured in English blends but it’s good, I smoke the Peterson 965 and I like it, it lacks the strength of flavor. The Dunhill had a pronounced floral note in the flavor but in the Peterson, it’s just not all there. I’m basically a cigar snob now, but I love a pipe!
Tinderbox has a tobacco called "connoisseur " that seems like it would be worth your time. It's just burley and latakia, very deep and mysterious flavors. Very delicious.
It’s always a special smoke when the pipe has some real significance.
Indeed!
MY 2 FAVORITE PIPES ARE MY MISSOURI MEERSCHAUM MARK TWAIN AND MY PETERSON DONEGAL ROCKY O3
@@marksheridan9063 which pope of yours do you smoke the most? I find that my favorite pipes are actually smoked a touch less…probably because they are more special occasion pipes. But I do have a few I love and still smoke a bit less than my work horse pipes. 🤔
Super cool!😊😊😊
Thanks!
