This video starts with us at Captain Mark's Whaling Adventures, spotting whales, seals and checking out sea caves. We also chase a beaver a little bit from our Canoe, spotted a glacier out in the Atlantic, and drove across the bridge going to Prince Edward Island just to visit a beach there. We checked out Grand Falls. Enjoyed some more waterfalls at Rivière-du-Loup in Quebec and ended with a v...

      Fudge. If I had the parts in front of me I may have some better solution, but if you giver lots of penetrating lube and let it sit overnight then turn it over and start slamming it on a hard surface? Might be enuff to bring it out to grab with needle nose pliers. Sounds like the spring behind it is completely corroded, and broken.

      I specifically got the Jackery Explorer 300, which still is advertised to have 10A Max on the 12v but has the ability to put out almost 13A! The only other alternative I know of, is to wire the heater directly to a battery source with no amperage protection.

    i have a jackery 500 and i wired the 12v cigarette plug like you did but after the fuel pump turned on after i started it i got an error 01 code which is low voltage. Do you know why that is? My wire is about 8-10 feet from the heater to the jackery... do i need to start it at its lowest setting maybe? Thanks

    • @firstpersonguy7330
      @firstpersonguy7330 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd be willing to bet on the Jackery 500 being the issue. The heater will draw close to 13amps on startup, which the Jackery 300 will actually handle without cutting out. The Jackery 500 will only take about 10.5amps before cutting off! I found out these statistics from the HOBOTECH TH-cam channel. He reviewed both Jackery models and took them to their breaking points.

    The only real improvment I can see on this desighn of this heater is to have a pipe that is a heat exchanger for the intake air for combustion being heated by the exhast. This would further cool the exhast pipe, and heat up the air giving cleaner burn and faster startup.

    you need the exhaust silencer to be the lowest part of the exhaust. the silencer has a small hole on one of the sides to let water out, if this isn't the lowest part of the exhaust the exhaust pipe could fill up with water and damage the heater 👍

    It's quite obvious you're excited about your heater. I would however like to correct your description of the heater. What you have is a 5Kw heater not an 8Kw heater. I only changed the spring, improvised by cutting a piece of the spring from a lighter since the pin does not damage easily, the spring breaks because of the heat. Besides, here in Brazil the pin costs a small fortune for such a small piece. Hugs man! Eu troquei apenas a mola, improvisei cortando um pedaço da mola de um isqueiro uma vez que, o pino não danifica com facilicade, já mola quebra por causa do calor. Além do mais aqui no Brasil o pin custa uma pequena fortuna pra uma peça tão pequena. Abraços cara!
