Edward Hennings is a business entrepreneur in the Midwest. He owns several ventures such as hair product store, barbershop, trucking company, and work-boot designing and manufacturing. Edward is a self-made businessman. He obtained his barber license and auto detail license while in prison. As a former drug dealer and convicted murderer he spent 20 years in prison, out of a 40-year sentence. On the day of his sentencing he made a Contract with God--he pledged to change his outlook, one from a materialistic mindset, to a spiritualistic mindset; where he now prioritizes intangible values like personal growth, and spiritual fulfillment over material possessions and wealth. He embodied the rehabilitation-model, where he encouraged newly released ex-convicts to be active participants in their change process to optimize their functioning and to build self-efficacy. Ed is a self-promoted motivational speaker, teaching the strategy of deferred gratification--the ability to resist an immediate reward in favor of a more valuable reward in the future.
