How this done with out sedation?
Co za glupi personel ,śmieją się bo sami tego nie mają
So did he remember it after the sedation was withdrawn?
“How are you doing? You alright?” His brain: “…huh?” His heart: “AAAHH WHAT DO I DO I FORGOT HOW TO DO RHYHMS AAAAAHHHB”
Bro got the factory reset
I know this is an old video, but my dad is having this procedure on Monday (8-12-24), and I hope and pray it does what the doctors want it too! It took a LOT off of me seeing this and knowing what happens. Thanks 😊
Hoping all went well for your dad! 🙏
Imagine if he came back screaming about how there's no afterlife lol
0:33 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
Had this 3 times always a trip 😂😂😂
The cavalier attitude these people are having is beyond disgusting. I have been through this procedure ., there is nothing to laugh and joke about
Just say youre the oppsite of any type of fun
@AlterKirbo Fun when you are in AFIB ? When you could stroke out and die ? We have different senses of humor . You are a pretty sick puppy in the head
The man was too stunned to speak
I wonder if any healthcare professionals can identify a cardio- conversion at the beginning stage you know Normal Sinus Rhythm to a Irregular Heart Rhythm in progress and watch the rhythm change on the monitor and truly understand and ID that the patient is going to Cardio-Covert while still in Normal Sinus Rhythm and really does covert into a Irregular heart rhythm in front of your face, while you monitoring the patient and not given any medication to the patient so a complete Cardio-Conversion occurs, another words ID a cardio-conversation off a Telemerty Strip or Monitor from the very beginning.or what are the stages from the beginning to the end of a Cardio-Conversion.
Ohhh, Johnny... I feel for you, but I'm SO glad you made it. Versed is a hell of a drug.
.5j per kilo.... 200j is alot....
Fucque dat exactly!
What a load of rubbish you are not conscious for this procedure
0:33 no one: me: *despite feeling bad for the guy, laughing* jokes aside, i'm sorry for what you got through. hope you're ok now (for people who say i don't have a heart; i was laughing at the way he screamed not what he went through)
So did they like...completely stop and restart his heart?? Or just shock it as it was??
It happened to me literally it’s a death experience I wish nobody suffer through this 😢May God give me strength to go through this I am just 27 😢 and it happened suddenly please pray for me 😢
I had a cardioversion yesterday actually and it went similarly. I don’t think I got enough sedative, so I was alert the whole time when they shocked me (twice) and my mom got to watch. Definitely not the most comfortable experience, but it was impressive.
I've had two ablasions and one cardioversion. Every procedure has been a nightmare in my case. Cardioversion was done three weeks ago. Completely lost my voice. Couldn't talk for a week afterwards because of the TEE beforehand. Went 4 weeks without a voice after second ablasion. Don't know why I'm watching this. Only vid I've ever watched on it. Scary AF !!! Now I won't be able to sleep tonight. This just made my anxiety shoot through the roof. I've only been sleeping 2-3 hours a night since the CV because I can't get it out of my head. This definitely didn't help. I would be so pissed hearing everyone laughing at me when I woke up. NOT FUNNY when you're the one laying there !!!! F them.
I need this done.....But after watching this, I'm thinking not!
I hope they realize that midazolam does not cause EVERY patient to not form new memories of painful procedures. I would demand Propofol.
Greetings to any medical drama producers or directors in the comments
Having this done tomorrow. Bit nervous but whatever, let’s get this done.
Hope it went well for you man
I am curious if you remember any of this? They said you wouldn't, but when I received cardioversion, it snapped me right out of sedation, and I fully remember. It was like a horse kicked me in the chest, but it did put me back in sinus rhythm, although I didn't stay there many days. Wound up getting a pacemaker in 2020 and have been good since. Yay for modern medicine!
I don’t remember anything
31 and just got my icd placed. Im not excited about ot going off
Yeah, ouch. I hope the best for you
I would never have this done.
I am not laughing! Cardioversion done right is not painful to the patient, and is safe when performed by serious professionals. I wouldn't trust these clowns to do anything for me. I would like to know why this guy wasn't properly under (most likely propofol). Is this a normal hazard? As a side note, I noticed that the pad placement was Anterior/Lateral which some high quality studies have shown is somewhat more effective than AP placement. With larger patients, AP placement allows use of Manual Pressure Augmentation (MPA) which is simply the cardiologist pressing on the anterior electrode to improve the current density through the heart. I am VERY happy that Mr. Hawkins was successfully converted, and that as a strong guy, he was able to power through the unpleasant experience.
0:31 what just happened
I was cardioverted five years ago, and I could tell you that it feels like getting kicked by a horse
I remember talking about photography to one of the nurses - then breathing in some gas - then waking up feeling very mellow and started talking to another nurse in the recovery room 2 hours later, went home - no pain - just a correctly beating heart and feeling better for it
assholes !
You need a need intervention team. I had a cardio version two months ago and it was nothing like this!
Seriously!! That's barbaric!! You should use propofol to anesthetize before ECV?? What hospital is this??
Well in my view that was unprofessional. I have 2 of these and totally sedated. If they had done that to me I would have kicked someone’s nuts in.
hows your Atrial Fibrillation now did it get better?? I have svt
No more a fib after surgery
I just had a cardioversion procedure yesterday, March 9, 2023, at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. My INR was checked, and was 2.6 so a TEE to check for clots was not needed. An EKG verified that I was in Atrial Flutter. I was sedated with Propofol, and then cardioverted with a current of 200 Jules. As happens always when I'm cardioverted, when I regain consciousness, I have no memory of the procedure, and am back in normal rhythm. I have occasional Atrial Flutter, possibly caused by atrium scar tissue after minimally invasive mitral valve repair surgery in 1997. I've had possibly 15 cardioversions since 2010. After 3 unsuccessful ablations, it was decided that I would need cardioversions whenever atrial flutter occurred.
That’s a lot. I hope they figure something out.
I had my cardioversion yesterday and it couldn't have been more different. Nobody joking or making small talk, just oxygen, IV general anaesthetic, out cold for 20 minutes. All done, no pain,
Good evening Mr. Minks - I am glad that you had the benefit of serious professionals. Had things gone sideways for you, I trust that your team would have been more suitable to save you than the chuckleheads in the video. I had a similar experience to yours, though my dry sense of humor was politely tolerated. Prior to going under and having the shock, the nurse attached a wrist label with patient information on my left wrist; I thanked her for not putting it on my toe.
Good morning Mr Peterson, I'm sure the team quietly chuckled to themselves (as do I) at you being a 'silent witness' rather than like the noisy ones in the video. All the best.
I need to remember this 👍👍@@petepeterson5337
@@petepeterson5337 HeHeHe, my kinda humor! Thanks.
SAME!!
“I don’t think he was oouuuut.” 🙄
LMFAO 😂😂😂
This is malpractice. There needs to be a better way to test his inability to perceive inputs, instead of yelling "Johnny!" Horrendous.
I asked the dr why he started at 200j. He stated it was bc lower j rarely work so he just starts at 200j. As for me waking up. The drug they gave me has retro amnesia. I don’t remember anything. No worries. It worked and I’m good.
WTF is this? To be defibrillated you have to be sedated!
Actually you don’t have to be sedated for defribillation because you’re already unconscious because your heart stopped beating. However, this is not defribilation but cardio version of which is a different procedure to get back your heart into the right “rhythm” but for that you DO have to be sedated indeed. I just had one a few days ago and remember nothing.
"Yeah we woke him up good" yeah I would say so hey Johnny in the words of Metallica you"rode the lightening" for a minute.
😱😱😱Too me, kinda unprofessional that the staff is laughing and joking ... I have been in OR procedures and so much laughing and joking goes on, they say to break the tension, but still yet ...
The first time I ever had a cardioversion when I was 16 the ER doctor told me what was gonna go down and I asked the ER doctor so like in the words of Metallica I'm gonna ride the lightning? He said eh yeah kinda sorta
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, Awesome video guys!
What is this for
when your heart beats to fast and a shock will reset it
