Nice
Ad black kon kon karta hai teenon mein se sabse achcha Kaun hai browser
I never downloaded Firefox before, and with this V3 nonsense forcing me to look at malicious ads on Google Chrome, I will be doing just that.
I'm a user of his list. His list influenced me to create my AIO blocklist because I saw that in his hosts file, he doesn't list the subdomains, which is good for me because I convert my list into an adblock style list first, then I convert it into domain only and hosts formats; many of the subdomains are merged into a single domain in the adblock format. So I don't know how well my hosts/domain-only lists work, but I know my adblock list is working well, and even if subdomains are needed to make a hosts file work better, my thought is that even without the subdomains, you're still blocking X more domains than you were before so that's good, right? I just say that my hosts and domain-only lists are just really big versions of Pete Lowe's list lol.
Looks great :) More nerdy tech details needed!
Thanks! Stay tuned, more is coming ;-)

You seem to have the idea that it is your right to force ads on us. You don't. If I am blocking your trash, that is because I don't want to see your trash, doesn't it? That is MY decision, isn't it? I haven't seen more than a passing ad, or watched a whole commercial in decades, and I won't. You have no right to force your cultish and offensive consumerism on me. My ad blocker clicks every ad in the background. I waste on average 10k in ad revenue a month. As more people catch on to this, and that it has been available for years, and working perfectly the whole time, I sure hope your bosses have an answer. If you block that, people will move to punish advertizers with their own technology even more. You can't win this, because you have something to protect. You want to play stupid games, your clients are gonna win stupid prizes. You should find something useful and productive with your life, instead of being sellout corporate trash.
I have to say I was utterly shocked by this talk. First of all, that anyone in the field of handling data should be so grossly ignorant as to say that the US isn't going to be interested in all the data is absolutely gobsmacking. To utter such falsehoods and distortions should be a fireable offense. We know since Room 641A that the US does and will practice blanket LI (even going so far as to engage in beam splitting) on an "everything" scale, not least in the interest of corporate espionage to destroy EU competitors. We also know that in the age of ML, LI also uses as much data as possible as fodder for their models. Secondly, to posit that the "solutions" are to either accept the US as our malevolent hegemon and we just bow to it having horrific laws, or to again accept the US as our malevolent hegemon and hope that they will in the grace of their hearts change their laws. NO! Those are NO solutions! That is surrender! Thirdly, the "real victims" are citizens, whose data is exploited by US entities. Fourthly, EU institutions being horrible ("look at what our own governments do") about LI is no excuse whatever. Not even in the playground will "but the other kids did it too" be accepted as an excuse. Fifthly, the fact that in Q&A she didn't point out that the CLEAR purpose of this runaround strategy the EU commission is practicing is to purposefully and intentionally destroy the GDPR by wearing out the patience of the EU parliament is insane. If she does not know, she cannot hold this talk, and if she knows and does not want to say it, she cannot hold this talk. Repeatedly, high ranking German and French official have stated that privacy and data protection must "end" because it's in the way of "progress". Finally, vendor lock in is actually an excellent argument for waking up and realizing that they MEAN it when they say that our data is their oil for the 21st century and CUT THEM OFF. Kick the big US vendors out of EU institutions and prohibit ALL personal data transfer, and start using EU alternatives already. Starting with Microsoft would be an excellent first step.
David Li said nothing of substance. They had feedback and focus groups, including with e.g. Ad Block Teams. Great, do you care to share any of the criticism about this change? Who asked for these changes? Has anyone actually given a reason as to why these features are being deprecated except to make it harder to block advertisements? Is Google even capable of being honest about why they are removing features which worsen developers' capability and user experience? Can you at least not lie to us and imply that these changes were instituted according to popular demand, and not due to rentseeking from upper management?
thumbs down
google is full of shit. firefox is going to have a bump in users over the blocking of adblockers
Great talk! I'm surprised this didn't get more views and doesn't seemed to be have shared much if at all

This is fascinating!
Thanks to eyeo for having me at the Ad Filtering Dev Summit! It was great to meet everyone and a fun talk to present.
Thanks again for joining and presenting, Peter! We hope to see you again at AFDS23 🙂
Awesome work Athana... very informative as well as crucial for today's world. Congratulations... You look great as well :) :) !!!
isn't inviting Google and Meta to a conference about defending users from ads something of a conflict of interest?
The summit's core focus lies on balance and inclusive discussions, aiming to benefit the web and all stakeholders - which makes it essential to have companies like Google and Meta actively participating in these valuable conversations.
Keep growing Hadi!
How to Remove all ads and replace with my photos, text, link in javascript chrome extension, can you send code or some hints
I can't block ads in android game it used to but for the last month or two ads are attacking me now I think the app figured out how to get around the ad blocking or my settings are wrong I dunno
Well done Fanboy!
The presentation seems to be quiet difficult to understand. I would appreciate that if you can please mention the prerequisites to understanding the moonshot project in the discription of this video.
@chirag , thanks for the comment. If you have an idea of the ways an ML Model generally works, and have a bit of an idea about the supervised learning and classification algorithms, then it'd be more helpful to understand the video :) Hope that helps.
I had missed this presentation by Andrey Meshkov. But at last the recording got uploaded on youtube , literally after waiting for more than 3 weeks.
