My bad, you’re correct.

For this lure i definitely prefer the lews. I like the medium heavy rod with it. I wasn’t getting the best hook sets once i switched to the ugly stik (medium). It’s not a bad rod but I normally use it for treble hook lures since it doesn’t have as much backbone to it.

@@BustinBass I got ya I got the lews American hero on order right now I’m ready to start making some cast . I being using my ugly stick gx2 for a few years maybe would like the upgrade on the new carbon ugly stick 🤌🏻

Nice the American hero is my favorite combo, it just suits my style of fishing. The gx2 is the reason I got the carbon. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the grip is longer than the lews and it’ll catch my shirt during some cast.

@@BustinBass it’s starting to cool down here in Texas (below 90 lol) and the fish are definitely more active I’ve been slamming small bass and crappie at the local golf course pond. Gonna try a big lake tomorrow and see if all the stuff I’ve learned will result in bigger fish

Yeah the weather is starting to get nice, if it doesn’t help with fishing at least it makes it more enjoyable being out there. Good luck, lakes obviously have some huge fish but finding them is a whole lot harder. I’m sure you’ll have better luck than I’ve been having!

You ought to tried what we did in Texas. We got big grasshoppers and big cicadas with glue a fish hook on the back and get the wings clipped off and throw them out in the middle of the water and catch some gigantic bass​@@BustinBass

No way, I was just out fishing this morning and there was a ton of grasshoppers so I was thinking that same exact thing! I’ll have to give it a try.

@@BustinBass Make sure the camera is rolling and that they understand that you put a hook on the back of a grasshopper with a very light line but strong and get ready. Have several of them ready to go

Hey man nothings wrong with small fish. What lures have you been using? Still the goby style ones?

@@BustinBass havent had any luck on those, I’ve been using 5 inch senkos at the local golf course and those have worked good. Caught a 1lber on a jerkbait once and that’s about all I’ve had success with lol

Could just be that spot only has small ones. For big ones I’ve had luck using a frog around cover or a heavy texas rig punching in grass.

I agree, I usually use a scale but I lost it right before this video so I had to purchase another one. I always find myself guessing low without one. I think a Texas rig can get it done in most of the same situations. Thank you!
