It’s a madhouse!
More than you know!
This one is very frightening
Imagine having to walk past them every day.
Very cool
You're on a tear. Awesome!
Deeply upsetting that you made a movie about Side Shows and didn't include me!
I just learned this. You can copy the transcript, and ask Chat GPT to rewrite it with keywords.
@@tomcrossmanpictures Try one. It's really fun!
Welcome to your new addiction.
This is going to be bad. Thank you.
cacklefest!
What an enchanting Christmas display! Just lovely and such lovely people
Call me "Old-fashioned".
The lighting was spectacular!
Thanks! Ran out of time by the time I got to the lights. Candy crane kept it illuminated.
Very cool!
Thank you!
Looking good 👍
This video came out when I was 6 years old. My older brother was (and still kinda is) obsessed with monorails, so I watched this video maybe 50 times as a child. The years went by and it eventually faded from my memory. I am now 22 years old, and a couple months ago I must've heard the Hanna-Barbera sound effect that plays in the cockpit or something, because it instantly lit up a dormant part of my mind. I suddenly remembered "that one monorail video where the copilot was in a gorilla suit". I asked my friends if they knew what I was talking about and they all thought I was insane. For a time, I thought maybe it was a fever dream that I had convinced myself was real, but I started remembering distinct details. I remembered it was about a runaway monorail. I remembered it had the background music that kinda sounded like the old Geico caveman commercials. Though I couldn't remember the name... Then today, my older brother was having his bachelor party, and I asked him if he knew what I was talking about. Not only did he instantly recognize it, he remembered the video title. After all these years, I have finally returned, and I am not disappointed. It's just as goofy and insane as I remembered. The low resolution, the toy models, the crude text graphics, this video is so unquestionably early/mid 2000s and it brings me so much joy. Originally, I came back to relive this wacky video from my childhood, but it's so much more. This is a product from a golden age where digital camcorders, video editing software bundled with the operating system, and a neat new website called TH-cam, all came together to grant ordinary people the ability to make movies in their own home. Any outlandish idea they had could be brought to life with a little ingenuity. Little movies made not for likes and views, but purely for the love of the game. Then when I clicked on the channel and saw you were still uploading, I was elated. Paul, if you're reading this, first you should know that your replies are registered as normal comments, they're all 15 years old so maybe they worked but got screwed up from a website update. But second and more importantly, I need you to know that this video is genuinely a touchstone in my life. When I came back to this video, I expected to see people like me in the comments coming back to remember this short film. However, I saw the last comment was from 7 years ago, and I knew I had to say SOMETHING. I don't know what you're doing these days. Maybe you're working a nine to five, or maybe you're still interested in making movies. I just want you to know this video meant a lot. My older brother, who found this video in the first place when he was 9, is getting married in 2 weeks. My little brother, who was just under a year old when this was posted to TH-cam, is now legally an adult about to enter his last year in Highschool. I'm gonna turn 23 in a couple months, I'm getting my degree in software engineering, and I'm working a job where we're actually on the cusp of publishing a research paper. In spite of the time passed, in spite of a life lived, in spite of everything, this video has stayed with me. Your video description was correct, I never forgot. I just wanted you to know that you had an impact. Thank you for making this, and I hope you're doing well.
Thank you! That's the coolest comment ever. I always wanted to make more monorail movies. It was made in one afternoon on a folding table in my backyard. I just used what I had around the house. Fortunately, I have toys. Thanks for reaching out. You really made my day! - Paul
Looks wonderful!
Thanks. It's a work in progress.
Wow, really great work. Everything just looks fantastic. Love the large monkey with the cymbals. Great work!
Thank you! Monkey will be back this year with loads of new stuff!
Excellent!!!! I loved it!!!!
Thank you!

Odd how no one leaves comments anymore.
Ah, that was fun. 😁
You are natural fish-feeder.
I remember being here as a kid, I vaguely remember that I saw an electronic choirs line of dancing MM's on the wall at FAO Schweetz next door, but when I saw it closed in 2004 or 05, I was shocked. So devastating for Pointe Orlando to lose a popular attraction.
FAO Schwarz was so lit.
Where can I buy one?

And now another year.
@@portolandz a year ago when I posted this comment, I was employed. Now I'm not as fortunate.
@@TylerIrelandNFL I'm unemployed again too! Welcome to the club.
Thank you so so so so so much for this! Do you happen to have a version of the song with all the vocals in it? I've seen the one with the vocals up here but not with the "Happy Birthday" part included.
Thank you. I think I do somewhere. There were a few versions. This was taken right from the store's CD.
Paul Porto awesome! Feel free to upload it. I’d love that!

Beautiful displays! Well done. ~The Team at WindowsWear www.windowswear.com
Thank you!
Wtf
you got the old monorails! Nice!
I used to work as the Toy Soldier and Raggedy Andy at the San Francisco FAO Schwarz in the late 80s/early 90s and I don't remember the SF store ever having these types of elaborate outdoor displays around the entrance. The one thing I do remember is the Clock Tower song driving me crazy! When I started the job I assumed I would grow accustomed to hearing it over and over and over and would eventually stop hearing it altogether. I was wrong...
i miss working there, Month after I left this was on :(
This brings back soooooo many memories!!! I remember going to this fantastic store when I was younger, i'm now 19. Never had the pleasure of anything like this in England, and our hotel was opposite, so we always visited this store! I was so sad when I went in 2001 and it was closed! We were talking about going to the shop as the first thing we did when we arrived, but to our astonishment, is was closed, cue some tears!
Why not?
why
Yep, sounds like we've both been in exactly the same spot to know how it really is to be in our position. You're extremely fortunate to have finally found work - I wish I could be as lucky! I know your job may suck, but it's sure as hell way better than sitting around at home depressed and totally broke! I just uploaded a short video, showing real job hunting footage, to show what it's really like out there right now to find a job.
Thank you. The store was amazing. Interesting thing about the X-wing fighter hanging from the ceiling is that it was an actual prop from the first film.
I understand completely. Most of the messages I get on this video are people telling me how lazy I am. If there are no jobs available, no amount of determination is going to land you one. Self-employment is particularly tricky for those with no money. Most of the comments aren't worth responding to. I am employed now. Have been for about two years, but I only make a fraction of what I used to make and the job I have held is well beneath my capabilities. Perseverance. Good luck. You'll get there
I was interviewed on RT News in 2011 about being long-term unemployed. I can build and repair computers, produce network-quality video, I have a clean record, plenty of varied work experience, good references, etc. ***STILL can't even get a job flipping burgers since 2009!*** I'm living in my dad's 10'x5' dining room, got an '84 Ford sitting in the driveway, covered in spider webs and dirt (because I can't even afford to fix and drive it). Check out my "Unemployed 99er" videos... -Brian
This store was amazing !! I was there in 1998, with my little Daughters ( now 21 an 18 ) and I have a lot of Pictures from outside and inside the store, My favorite corner was Star wars, with the ATT in the ceiling, and a real size AR2.
thanks for showing me this again
The music as well <3 the tree
@dumbbina My half sister is the same way, she is so lazy that she complained that it is too hard to screw the light bulb.
LOL!!BOY THIS REMINDS ME OF SOMEONE!
Not realize they are toys? It's a complete crap. which I believe are re jerks.
@DukemisMaximus be greatful u got a apt dude i wish i had a studio and not a room in my parents house @ 21 :/
I am 21 unemplyed since 19 and live with my parents i hate that shit i go to colellege and soon Auxillary police for volunteer. I just hate having being so lazy and not going back to the gym this is a piece of shit life with no money i cant get anything, money actually does buy you happiness if you do it for the right reasons.
@KerbyWill I was with Gayfers in Orlando at the Fashion Square mall location until 1997. I don't think I ever worked with Charles Chadwick. The name isn't familiar. I wasn't regularly in communication with stores outside central Florida.
@portolandz Kerby here - Atlanta - did you work with Gayfers? Do you happen to know Charles Chadwick, he is my brother - Kerby49@aol.com
Paul, Were you with Gayfers? If so - may I ask which location? Also, did you know or ever work with Charles Chadwick? Kerby (Atlanta) - formally Ft. Walton Beach and Pensacola.
a lot of creativity has gone from our shops ,its all two headless models stood in a window , none of the glamour , i was v.m in the uk and did freelance sometimes, sometimes voluntary work ,i could go into an empty window , some paints , a few mannequinnes ,some greenery and do wonders on a budget of zero ,i too are also turning my talents to other things but amazing work ,i loved this , you can take me out of v.m but you cant take v.m out of me ,
Oh, man, now I know I have to go to my favourite shop at Christmas now. Thanks for sharing this.
@TheCashistrash You should make movies!
