Thank you for your transparency! I am so sorry that you had to go through such pain. But you’re right about having a testimony, you really don’t have one until you’ve gone through the hard things in life. May the Lord bless you and help you through your road to recovery and sobriety. He is so proud of you! I really needed to hear this right now because I’ve been struggling with depression myself. I am 63 and away from home and my loved ones. Going back wouldn’t be the same anyway because my mom and dad are gone with the Lord. My children aren’t walking with the Lord. I feel very alone and lonely. But the Lord is my husband and he really takes good care of me and puts up with my waywardness and my unbelief, he always helps me and cares for me through my struggles. We will have struggles to the end I believe but it’s our faith that we can make it to the end. God bless you and your family
Thank you I appreciate that and I'm glad this video served as an encouragement to you. Please feel free to check out the other videos on my channel. God's got me right where he needs me to be and I'm excited about every day and what he's going to do in my life! Thank you for watching By His Grace, Chris
Why cant crossway come out with a nice bold 13 or 14 pt font? Sucks they keep coming out with all kinds of different variations but they never come out with giant print. The super giant print one is so massive plus it dont have footnotes. Just dont understand crossway

Thank you so much for making this video . As a recovering alcoholic struggling with anger issues I can totally identify with you and I have been thru so much and apparently u have also . Just recently in the past year I realized I was angry at God and my husband and had the revelation that the things going on were not God hurting me it is my own decisions and the devil so I’m kinda like where u are . I do have some hope now for a future and appreciate your sincere heart towards others that are going through these trials . See ya soon in Heaven . ❤ ur little 53 yr old sis in Christ ..Julie

The most important thing of all is to NEVER QUIT. That is the ultimate goal of the enemy- to get us to give up. But the Bible promises a reward to those who persevere. Hang in there brother, God is still God and he isnt finished yet.
Amen
In early April 2024, my father committed suicide. I had a rocky relationship with him so I was nowhere near as devastated as my mother, who I pray for frequently. I ask for your prayers to help my mother deal with her grief especially around the 1 year mark. Pray that she makes nondestructive decisions that help her to move forward. Her name is Becky. I ask you to pray for Becky fervently.
I would be honored to pray and I'm glad this video reached out to you and I hope it encouraged you I hope you will watch other videos on my channel as well.
You have to show you love God more than you do your alcohol or your problems on this Earth. Jesus said we would have tribulation. He has given everything in his word, to get through it. His word also says he made us with a sound of mind and body, but the enemy would like you to think differently. Do not base everything you're going through with your feelings and emotions. They are our worst enemy. Circumstances are only temporary. We have to look forward into eternity. We cannot stay in sin, and the excuses we use to continue in them. The Bible says the drunkard will not inherit the kingdom of God. Period. There is no such thing as a drunk drinking Christian. Period. Tough words, but tough words even for myself because I have been through similar things as well and many other people out there have. Trust me, it's hell. But we have the promises of God to stand on. Read his word. Stay in worship to him . Fast and pray. Can't blame the devil while you're giving him a stronghold. 🎯💯 King David did not stay depressed as you say very long. No one in the Bible stayed depressed very long. That doesn't give us a right to just because someone else did. Those are just scenarios and examples.
Why are you condemning this man? You do know your portraying a self righteous attitude, holier then thou. Remember we are saved by grace through faith, not of works lest any man should boast. We all go through struggles and trials and tribulations some people it just takes longer then others to be delivered from them. This man has gone through a lot of trauma and God is not going to condemn him for trying to mask his pain. God doesn’t work through fear and punishment, but of love, peace, hope, kindness, gentleness. Much love God Bless. ❤ “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.” John 10:27-29 KJV “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
You realize this video was made to commemorate something that happened 13 years ago and to give other people encouragement who might be considering the option my wife took and to offer encouragement for other believers. My spend as many as 3 hours a day studying the words since I've been retired. I've made videos encouraging people to get the resources so they can study God's word and they can grow. I feel like you didn't listen to here but you listen to comment. I'm sorry I didn't explain myself well enough for your satisfaction but many other people understood where I was coming from. I'm sober by the way. I daily spend time in God's word and encourage others to do the same that's part of what this channel does. You can see my section on the layman's bookshelf. I appreciate you watching the video but I've got to say I feel like your comments are a little bit out of line. I was simply trying to share what I've been through My testimony because that's how we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. God has done so much in my life in the past 13 years and even though it's been unpleasant it's been awesome to see what he's done. I hope you have a good day By His Grace, Chris
@@WalkNTheLight123I was hoping this video would be encouraging and maybe cause people not to consider the option that my wife took. A vast majority of the people found it just that encouraging. This lady assumes that I drink and I don't I'm sober. But I hope that she and you watch some of the other videos I have on this channel. That's what this ministry is about is encouraging people. I hope you feel free to look around. By His Grace, Chris

Watching from Australia, they overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. That’s you brother!
Thank you very much I appreciate that. I still miss my wife and she did have bipolar disorder. So I want to spend the rest of my life encouraging people not to give up whether it's from being an alcoholic or a drug abuser or whatever the case may be. That's what this channel is about. That and encouraging people to spend time in the word and to read it and study it.. thank you very much for watching By His Grace, Chris
In a non book related post..The Bonhoffer movie that came out this past Thanksgiving was incredible and truly worth a watch.
She did a great evil to herself a greater to you and worse to your children and the greatest evil to God: your anger towards her is righteous. The anger is ultimately a cancer to find peace with. Let not your heart be troubled :
Well that's what I tried to convey in this message I hope you got that. In this video was also there to encourage people who might be thinking about it to not do it.
She also suffered from one of the worst cases about polar disorder
@ThecrosseyedTexan keep this in mind in the moments before death time is much different. it is known that remose for bad deeds allowes for the soul to make a perfect act contrition to God. Jesus is known in his divine mercy to grant salvation to errant souls. There is hope for her salvation. Remember her soul daily pray for her. I recommend the prayer of St. Gertrude. You can Google it. Bipolar is a terrible affliction. God Bless

you remind me of Job
Well Joe was a righteous man I was kind of a booger head to the process. I didn't handle everything right. God is good He never gave up on me and he used everything I went through to draw me closer to him.
Prayers for you along your journey with God. 🙏
God bless you Sir! Keep fighting the good fight. My sincere condolences. Much love and prayer to you and your family🙏🏻💯❤️
That ESV looks very nice. I thought of buying one very recently, but I'm using the NASB 2020 now.
I've been using an ESV in one of its iterations since 1993 the 77 the 95 and the 2020. This year I decided to do incorporate the ESV as my literal translation. I tend to use two when I study one of them is the Christian standard Bible for a general overview In the second one is a word for word translation so this year since I've had little experience with it I chose the ESV. There's actually four Bibles that I use on a regular basis cuz I'm crazy lol!
That’s really kind of you too
I’m sorry for your tough times and your loss . I appreciate you telling your story . You both had kids together? How are they doing now ?
My son is 21 years old he'll be 22 next month My daughter is 30. They're both doing quite well and seem to be very well adjusted considering the circumstance. My daughter has announced to me that I'm going to be grandfather and I'm pretty excited about that. Spot everything we've been through God is still good! And he used this to bring me closer to him!
God bless you! I came across your video randomly this morning thanks for the encouragement!
I know the confusion and pain you felt brother as only someone who lived through a suicide can understand what you experienced. I'm sorry you had to go through this. This isn't the work of God, but was all on Satan imo.
I agree but God can take anything and work it for his glory. The reason I share this is just in case somebody might be thinking about it I want them to understand what happens to the ones who get left behind. Thank you very much for watching! By His Grace, Chris
@itsstillcalledtoday9928 I believe the majority that do this if not all are under the influence of Satan and there isn't anything we can do for them with the exception of making them understand that their thoughts are being influenced by Satan and his fallen angels. Only Satan can override the natural instinct in all of us for self preservation. The Churches do a terrible job imo of explaining the world we live in and its probably because they don't know themselves or to afraid of losing their memberships by telling them the truth. I don't understand everything, but I'm convinced that Satan and his kind can at a minimum oppress even the best of us. Especially if we let our guard down. Now imagine if we don't understand why we are having these thoughts! It's all in my head and something is wrong with me.
I dont understand how she committed suicide, how she walked into or put herself in a lake. I hope this comment is not too soon or too painful. Just wondering. So sorry for your loss.
Well there's some things I don't understand but it wasn't a like it was a creek that ran past the parking lot of the church today attend. My guess is she sat down and either it took the OD there or took it and just sat down there by the bank. When the rains came on Saturday night Monday morning I think it kind of scooped her in
I think she had the whole thing planned out and knew where she was going to go before she did anything. A lot of people in this frame of mind work out every last detail. She also did something that threw me off quite well too she shaved her legs. Generally I knew what that meant especially on a Friday night when we were off the next couple of days. I don't mind you asking this question at all By His Grace, Chris
@@itsstillcalledtoday9928 thank you so much for your reply. Again, so sorry for your loss and pain. God bless.
Thanks for sharing your heart and your story, brother. This sure is an example of what I can't understand, but have to trust God through. We trust that someday we'll see His good hand on even this. I love ya, brother!
Great word Chris. I remember seeing this on the news and putting the pieces together, it's been many years but I'm sure we prayed for you. I'm just really impressed with the way that you've persevered and raised the kids on your own. Another saying that might be corny that I've always liked "Don't make a permanent decision for a temporary problem".
@@Expressitc I appreciate that. There's a lot of things I could have done better though Great many things I could have done better.
Just got mine. Paper liner!!! Unbelievably disappointing

69 and have low vision myself and used the first one to death. All of the Halley's Bible handbooks were bought out by the Billy Graham crusade and changed. All except for the large print editions which kept the problems with the Catholic church in the Inquisition and. So it's got hidden treasures in those large letters😂
I have a ESV Thinline in a 10.5 font I will be reviewing soon but I sure with it was in a 12 and slightly thinker.
@@CrazyJesusTalk I wish that they would make something like a 13-point font with end of paragraph reference. Crossway is not very friendly to people with low vision.
Hey I followed through off your comment on my video. I as well like a larger font. I especially like a nice clear dark print with good spacing. On your CSB you had re bound, did it have a very strong petroleum smell?
Oh no that CSB is one genuine piece of cowhide it smelled like a brand new leather jacket. Now it smells like a leather jacket and whatever colona wore that day lol
Great size Bible thanks for sharing!
Regarding your comment on “confess” as something to continue and no way out of conscience sinning again and again- God sent Jesus to stop people from sinning-A new way! Not to treat Jesus’ blood the same as the blood of goats and bulls with forgiveness every day or year. Jesus had to learn obedience and suffer when He was tempted to sin every day of His life, because He was not God on the earth. God cannot be tempted & Jesus was a man with the Holy Spirit. Only then could Jesus become a Mediator. We can follow Jesus’ footsteps to cease from sin, so that we can be children of God not the devil.
Simply showing you what the verb tense is in the Greek and it means exactly what I said.
@@MosesTheDrake I don't believe that we can cease from sinning in this life. But like I said mother comment this was simply a demonstration of how to use this Bible it wasn't meant to be at theological treatise. There are things that God has given me victory over that I don't struggle with anymore and there are some things that I do. Like being prideful about the things that I know or being presumptuous or not loving people the way I should all the time. I don't think we'll ever be completely freed from sin until we stand on the other side of eternity. Thank you for watching the video though
@@itsstillcalledtoday9928 That’s really sad to hear. These is a difference from conscious sin and having a body of sin (Rom 7:5, 8:12-14). It is a lifelong battle - each time we’re tempted from the sin in our flesh (body of sin) which is when we can stand faithful and cease from sin. Jesus did the same (Rom 8:3-4). It happens from temptation to temptation, and never giving in by praying & holding on to His Word during temptation. Then the old self, who agreed with sin, is truly crucified, “so as to live the rest of [my] life no longer to the lusts of the flesh.” Gal 2;20 Just because I’m tempted - doesn’t mean I have sinned (James 1:12-14). It is possible to cease from sinning otherwise I am not following the scriptures (1 Pt 4:1-2) in simple faithfulness(2 Cor 11:3), but instead judging on one’s past experiences. Will Jesus find such faith on earth when He returns. Not very many. Very few there be who find the narrow way.
@@MosesTheDrakewe're just going to have to disagree on this. I do not believe that's possible because every day I need God's grace.
@@ThecrosseyedTexan Grace to stop sinning with our conscious mind. I'll agree to that. Only by the grace of God have I been able to cease and stop from sinning with my conscious mind. 👍 Absolutely no other way!
The Christian god is 'love' of suffering tell us something we don't know.
Chris, you do not have a huge subscriber base, nor do you post often. HOWEVER, your videos are always full of faith and sincerity, and they always touch my heart. Many "religious" youtubers [ yes, I use that term loosely ], have thousands of subscribers and post daily. Yet all I hear from them is Babble.
