I've been in love with the harmonica since it was featured in the Disney movie "Escape to Witch Mountain." Unfortunately, I was never able to master even the basics of the instrument (that's why I play the 6-hole pendant ocarina). Did you know that a harmonica plays a key part in a series of novels by Piers Anthony? They're both science fiction and fantasy as the main character crosses back and forth from one dimension to another, always carrying his harmonica with him. I'm sorry, but I can't remember the name of the series, nor the titles of any of the books, and my copies were stolen years ago, along with most of my other books.
Thanks for your comment. I am unfamiliar with Piers Anthony's novel. I practically grew up with the Star Trek TV series. I think I have watched every episode of Star Trek, Next Generation, etc. I play many musical instruments, and the harmonica is the easiest to learn. Give yourself, say, 20 hours. I believe you can start playing a few simple songs.
I have played this in an orchestra. It was much fun.
It was fun just play along with a background track.
