Day 19 - Busselton Jetty
Finally a morning where it didn't rain. Can't go past an early morning shoot at the Busselton Jetty. Hope you enjoy the edit and it gives you a few ideas.
Day 13 - Eagle Bay
Had a great morning out and got a drone shot to edit for you.
Day 11 - Castle Rock
Well this one you might need to scroll through to get to the good stuff. Had a bit of trouble finding a sky to add and how to make it look more suitable. I got there in the end I guess.
Day 8 - Canal Rocks
I managed some good long exposures with the drone this morning. Check out the edit and how I needed two images to create this.
Day 7 - Gannet Rock
This morning it was windy again with more cloud low on the horizon blocking any chance of a nice sunrise. Still we get what we get and don't get upset. This is an edit that actually taught me something!, Don't use the auto button!
Day 5 - Bunker Bay
This morning was an amazing sky, but did I get a composition I liked? It is questionable and I again struggled with finding the shot at Bunker Bay. What do you think?
Day 4 - Wetlands
Drone action today as it was a good way to get a few shots and not have to walk anywhere carrying a heavy bag. Check out the before and after result.
Day 3 - Still Life
I was too sick to get out of the house today so I created a still life of my very first camera. Check it out.
Day 2 - Ludlow Forest
some times you don't need to do much in post to create a nice look.
Day 1 - Sugarloaf Rock
This is the first shoot and edit from my 31 day August Challenge. What better way to start than a lazy shoot down at Sugarloaf Rock. The morning was dramatic with wind and waves and some nice cloud formations. Check out the edit to see how I refined the image.
Blending Exposures in Photoshop
The camera is not as sensitive as our eye. Wouldn't it be nice if we had SNAC's (Sensitive new age cameras)! A camera that could get it right all in one exposure. Unfortunately it hasn't been invented yet but we are getting close. This is a good technique in Photoshop to balance your exposures.
Edit of the Dangar Falls
This is an old video but the ideas are still relevant. Check it out, it is interesting to see where an image can be taken in post.
Automatically Align Layers in Photoshop
Sometimes you don't have your tripod and you are in a busy place where lots of people are in your shot. The way around this is to shoot lots of images of the same scene which allows you to layer them in Photoshop and rub out the parts you don't want..... I think you know what I am saying! But if each image is slightly different they need to be aligned first. I will show you how here.

Hi Christian, your knowledge of Photoshop and processing technics are quite amazing. I was intrigued by your "Enhanced Presence" action. What goes into it? Is there any chance you are selling your Photoshop actions and/or LUT's (or could share)? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Christian. Do you still use Guy's iEQ action? He won't be happy with you "wanging" sliders around, as he likes to say. Did a Zoom call with him a few years back when he processed one of my images. Subscribed at the time but have since let it lapse; the cost of the annual subscription is prohibitive and I found the action difficult to customise. Can't believe how many actions that I've accumulated over the years!

    • @christianfletcher7874

We could do this with Photoshop's "Generative Fill" A.I, but I definitely prefer the method of aligning layers because it preserves the originality of the photo. It uses real parts of the building from a second image, maintaining the visual authenticity of the scene, unlike generative filling, which creates a completely new and unreal part in the image-not that it doesn't look visually good, but it doesn't preserve the real things.

I noticed it's old. First, I noticed you have a Canon raw file. I know you used to shoot Canon, but that's back in the mists of time. When you chose ProRes, I wondered whether it's actually relevant. Your camera records 14 bits/channel, you edit in 16, I suspect that you have enough discrete values in your sixteen bits to make colour space as irrelevant. It matters that the image is displayed in the same colour space your monitor displays. When you export to PNG or JPEG or other eight bits per channel, at that point colour space is baked in.

I have been thinking for quite a while that you should be able to replace image(s) beneath those adjustment layers to apply all that processing to something different. In this instance, you might have returned to C1 to apply the lens corrections, open them in Ps and then copy them to the first. Thankyou for your videos. I'm hoping to get around in 2024. Tin Can is in disgrace, just begging to be sold. I have a Toyota now.
