How to Resize Images in Photoshop and keep the Quality! (2025)
Open the Image → Go to File / Open and select your image.
Unlock the Background Layer (if needed) → In the Layers Panel, double-click the Background Layer and rename it.
Select the Content-Aware Scale Tool → Go to Edit / Content-Aware Scale.
Choose the Correct Settings → In the top toolbar:
Protect: If you have an Alpha Channel (for important objects), select it here.
Reference Point: Set it for scaling from the center or an edge.
Scale the Image → Click and drag from a corner or side while holding Shift + Alt (Win) / Shift + Option (Mac) to maintain proportions.
Press Enter → Finalize the transformation.
Save Your Image → Go to File / Save As and choose your preferred format.
