The Watch USMC (Marine Corps Retirement)
A husband does "The Watch" for his wife at her retirement after 29 years of service! Imagine developing a detailed plan for "The Watch" for your retirement, and the last person you expect to see is your spouse walking from your right in Dress Blues (when he was in a suite 3 minutes prior) reciting his rendition of "The Watch".
Reciting "The Watch" is easy, but it becomes complex when you personalize it and do it for your spouse. For the first 30 seconds, she still didn't know who it was until she broke the Position of Attention (undisciplined self) to look and see who was talking!

I can write a book on him, but so can many of you. He was a man who lived a very simple life, yet had the biggest impact on many people that extend through many generations. These are my final words to him. Rest well!

Fug going back to boot again..
I went to HS with a guy who became a USMC DI and worked at MCRD San Diego. Later on, he volunteered to go to Iraq and was killed in action. His name was SSGT Allan K Walker and there is now a building at MCRD San Diego named Walked Hall. Rest In Peace Allan. IS2 (SW) US Navy
Sgt Maj of the marine corps lore right here 1:00
When you prestige in real life
Gysgt Ruiz? SGT MAJ?
It just hit me that GySgt Ruiz in this video is now the SgtMaj of the MC
1:03 that’s SMMC Ruiz right there, I forgot he was a drill instructor 😮
Anyone else notice SgtMaj Ruiz?
Current SgtMaj of the Marine Corps at 1:02, SgtMaj Ruiz
This is the equivalent of a hard reset on your PC. These NCOs just got power cycled 😅.
Gunny Ruiz is now the SGT MAJ of the Marine Corps 🙌🏻
Anyone here in 2024 realize Gunnery Sgt Ruiz is now Sgt Major of the Marine Corps?!?!
gunny ruiz is the 20th sgtmaj of the marine corps
0:56 SMMC Ruiz??
That scream @9:29!
I knew a Sgt that had a Navy Cross from Iraq, decided he wanted to be a DI, got sent to DI school. Can't imagine being a 1Sgt and seeing a guy higher decorated than you. Imagine, now, if Sgt Dakota Meyer or Cpl Kyle Carpenter went through DI school. Even when going through the FF games, they had to show the respect to the MOH.
why is there a south korean soldier there?
It’s all fun and games, until you play fun and games as a career.
Seeing the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps young is insane.
Glad I'm not going crazy, what a wild coincidence
They were hard reset to recruit mode. I hated em when I was in, but now its all respect because all marines faced this. They faced it twice or more depending on the marine
And now that is SgtMaj Ruiz.
SGTMAJOR ruiz as a gunny
Can’t believe the current SMMC is here
Are these E5 getting treated like pvts?
Billet over rank, though all these marines are ncos or staff ncos, they’re in student status again
0:59 He's the SGTMAJ of the USMC now👀
Oh the chaos 😂
So dramatic...everything has to be a ceremony
Current Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps is an instructor in this video.
Imagine being enlisted for a while and going through this again,.. shouldnt be hard a second time around .. going through training again
Gunny Ruiz is now the SgtMaj of the Marine Corps. Time flies.
Nobody talking about how the current SgtMaj of the Marine Corps is in this video 0:58
Everyone is.
This was tight
0:58 wait a sec...... isn't that guy currently the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps?
SHIIIIT, IS THAT SERGEANT MAJOR OF THE MARINE CORPS CARLOS RUIZ
Gunny Ruiz is now the SgtMaj of the marine corps lol
That poor ROK. He must wonder how in the world he ended up here.
0:58 is that the 20th smaj of the marine corps, Smaj Ruiz?
I know this was 7 years ago but I gotta ask, is Gunnery Sgt Ruiz Sgt Maj of the marine corps Ruiz? He looks exactly the same! How crazy is that if it is?
Yes that’s him
Is that Sgt Maj of the Marine Corps 😭😭😭
Now, it really makes perfect sense. They completed boot camp twice. No wonder they were so angry. Lol. Semper Fi 1❤🫡
Exact same date I was picked up in bootcamp 1999!!! I'll never forget it, looooooooooong ass day and night!!!
I graduated (regular Boot Camp) MCRD San Diego 15 January 1974. During my adventure there, I heard epic cussing. Throughout my time in the Corp til now, no one has answered my question……Where do the Drill Instructors learn to Cuss. I swear I have never heard the use of cuss words and the combination of said words nowhere else in my entire life. I am still amazed
why always that shouting. you will be deaf by the end of the training 😂
So who teaches the school for the drill instructors at this school? Id like to think theres a never ending loop of drill instrcutor schools out there lmao
Hmm.....do i join the marines or get busted and go to prison? Prison!😊
Imagine telling yourself you are never going through that again just to go through that again
Me going through recruiting school right now, praising the lord It wasnt that one
Not being in the Corps, why are the DI's wearing their covers/hats and the Captain wasn't?
Glad to actually see so many CARs in those stacks. The Marine Corps will never again have such an opportunity to put so many actual combat veterans in front of recruits again. At least… until 2025/26.
Wait… there’s a DI school on the west coast now?
