Essential DIY Tips: Range or Land Rover extended suspension height mode L405 L494 ipace
IMPORTANT : As recommend by viewers of this video, if working under any car with air suspension jack stands should be kept in place at all times. There is a very small chance that the airbags can pop when you’re under the car and as such you could be crushed by the weight of the car. For redundancy purposes, please use jack stands when under the car on any suspension height setting.

    My front carpets are wet. Could be the same issue?

    • @WatchCorp
      @WatchCorp 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Maybe although it usually soaks the rear unless you’re on a hill or similar. Worth checking the drains and doing my fix either way but also having a read about windscreen delaminating. I believe there’s an issue out there that requires resealing it in as they leak. Or you could accidentally crack your windscreen and get replaced via insurance. 😉

    Very new to A/V…so, I tapped into the four wires (all correct) in the car amp. Next, I bought a subwoofer w/ built in amp. Ran ground wire, 12v, and REM from LOC to the new subwoofer/amp. Started the car and LOC isn’t gettin power. Stock speakers still work but no power to LOC or new subwoofer. Any thoughts? Am I missing anything? Do I need to run power to the LOC or should me tapping into the existing amp speaker wires power the LOC? Appreciate the video. Very helpful.

    • @WatchCorp
      @WatchCorp 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sounds like you’ve done everything correctly so I’m unsure what the issue is sorry. LOC shouldn’t require power directly if it’s the same type as mine, I.e can power up automatically from the speaker connections. I would try running 12v to it directly and see if that kicks it to life. Hope that helps.

    Love it. Will have a look at our L405 but can tell you that this happens on all cars with sliding sunroofs, the design is pretty much the same from one manufacturer to another. We have a '93 Range Rover Classic and it leaked from the sunroof tray - basically the metal pipes were completely corroded - removing the rubber pipe just caused the remaining metal to crumble. So it's great to see a repair like this on the L405 before it becomes an issue. Thanks for posting !

    Thank you for such a great video. It really helped me with my decision to either go 20 mm & 25mm or your final application 25 & 30. I love content like this with real world comparisons. Your side by side comparison is very informative takes the guessing game out of this application. Until your video, I may have gone with what most recommend 20mm & 25mm. I just bought a 2016 Granturismo Sport with factory trident wheels that had stock tires up front size 245/35/20 and rear 285/35/20. Normally I buy new wheels that fill the entire wheel well and are flush with the fenders. For this car I love the stock wheels, added Formula Dynamic lowering springs and Formula Dynamic wheel spacers 25mm front and 30mm rear, because I wanted the wheels/tires to be flush with the fenders. I even went further with your application and mounted brand new wider tires: 255/35/20 & 305/35/20. I achieved the look I wanted where the wheel wells show a perfect fitment for a true sports car. DM me if you want pictures. I believe I pushed this application to its limit and there is no rubbing that I've noticed. Cheers and thank you.

      Thanks for the feedback, that’s great to hear and glad my video helped with the decision. I couldn’t see any direct comparison online so I’m glad going to the effort of getting both options helped someone else! Yes I am very tempted to do the same with my tyres when mine need changing. I always put bigger sizes on and feel it’s the finishing touch. I can’t find anyway to DM you at all though, it doesn’t give me the option at all on your profile. Would you please mind uploading a video of what your car looks like with the wider tyres, even if just a brief look please? I’d be very interested. Many thanks again

    Aliexpress makes a repair kit now

    • @WatchCorp
      @WatchCorp 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I think I mention it in the video. There’s two types, one where you have to cut out the factory drain and then tap it out so the kit can screw in. The other is an “updated” kit that still requires cutting out the drain but no need to tap the screw. Either way you’d have to drop the headliner fully to do either, plus cutting out the factory drain would be a complete pain imo. Also £18 and delivery wait from china. My way is 50p per side, fitted in minutes with no headliner removal. Plus you can fit it if your sunroof tray is absolutely fine as its preventative maintenance rather than a cut and replace job.

    I have the same MC Sportline as well but I ordered a CF diffuser that straight covers the lower half of the back bumper, I always thought it's gonna look tacky and afterthought so I'm planning to color match the diffuser to body but leaving the center diffuser bit CF. Hopefully it'll be alright, would have been easier if I just go with your style

    Thanks for the video. On the website, I don’t see a 20mm option (25mm looks to be lowest without going custom). Also, did it require any vehicle modifications by going with 20mm on front? I thought I read somewhere 20mm may not be thick enough to fit the spacer over the factory studs. Appreciate the insight.

    • @WatchCorp
      @WatchCorp 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just checked the website and you’re right, 20mm doesn’t look like a standard option anymore. I’d contact them and ask as I would imagine 20mm being their most popular size. They will make them custom for you (as with any size) but I’m sure they would have 20mm on the shelf. No modifications needed at all to fit. They’ve been on my L322 before as well and went straight on 👍

      No worries! No MC Sportline package on mine, I’m not a fan of the carbon fibre look but they do seem incredible value on the used market given how much all that costs to add a later date. I think the suspension is coilovers as standard on them too which I would love to have.

      Just standard suspension height on mine. It’s not got the MC handling pack either which I think is a 10mm drop all round. Lots of people lower theirs with coil overs and you can do the same. I think it looks a lot better but I want to keep my ride hide stock. You should be ok with 25mm spacers all around but it depends how much you lower it by. Good luck!
