The way great Britain used to look like. Ah the good old days. This was made in 1983. 2 years later I joined the Royal Navy and we filmed many USSR warships as they did to us. Now retired at 56 there is no point in surviving a nuclear confrontation. There is no point in anybody surviving.
Great job on the detailed repair walkthrough! 👏 The step-by-step explanation and troubleshooting tips are super helpful. For even better engagement, consider adding timestamps in the video description to guide viewers to key moments. Keep up the great content! 🚀
Thanks I just wanted to add more to my channel tried my best to make it as tutorial as possible

The scientific team who presented their findings in the USA in 1983 seem to have put together a draft version of what became Threads. The public information parts were of course copied straight into the film but the short bits of footage (for example at 21.19) resemble but aren't identical (in dialogue or visually) to what was in the film. So is there a proto-Threads in the archives somewhere I wonder?
I loved the eighties as a kid ,goonies ,ET,Lost Boys miners strike , Liverpool FC and the Cold War best era in history 💪
Fantastic. Thanks for uploading this
I agree mate 😁 takes me back to when we were kids 😁
Thanks for posting this, nice to remember times past on the railway! Remember well the days when the public could wander around the shed at Bridgnorth 😊
Welcome let me know if you have any questions il ask my Dad
I remember this. Notice there is a Christmas advertisement in the beginning, why did they put this on just before Christmas? It’s December 2024 just before Christmas and the media is scaring the hell out of us again about nuclear war. Merry Christmas everyone
Very nice and vibrant city centre in Chester, Jack. Looks clean and no litter either. And that old clock at 6:00... Wow, very beautiful. Finally, does your National Health cover dental services in the UK, Jack? How about eye glasses? Are those covered as well? Thanks for sharing and I enjoyed this little tour of Chester.
Lots of litter normally haha no I pay for glasses and dental care but dental care is cheaper on the NHS
Fair play mate. Going abroad alone is something I couldn't do. Balls of steel
Haha mate I got there shuttle was a people carrier German family didn't speak English I was like wtf am I doing. Great trip it was though I will go again.
Look how just an 18 ton lorry completely destroyed the rear of that car and nearly did the same to the front of it, i will never understand why stupid idiots in cars seem to think that brake checking or cutting up at truck is perfectly okay and nothing bad will happen to them . I've been driving artics for just over 20 years and I've lost count how many times some moron in a car has brake checked me or cut me up just because I can't go as fast as them or me just being on the road is just to piss them off and hold them up . That accident with the car and truck is the perfect example of how much damage a truck can cause and that truck wasn't even the biggest or heaviest on the road. I just wish people would have more respect for truckers and themselves because trying to take a truck on with their stupid dangerous games they play is only going to end really badly.
It’s inevitable, isn’t it?. I don’t know why people panic about natural climate change, I’m not bothered about fantasy, man-made climate change because I drive a Ford car, it’s the nuclear Armageddon climate change which I believe in.

Old media ❤.
They just made it - the two friends. Last of the steam era. Steam started to disappear from early 90s. It moved to mostly diesel locos and now it is mostly electrics when Alcos and GM/EMD diesels being nostalgia. A lot has changed in Indian Railways during the past 3 decades - locos, traction, coaches, comfort, stations, online booking of tickets and food etc. Era of Vande Bharat train sets and Bullet trains now. Steam still brings nostalgia and has its great charm. Back then when the video was shot, things moved slower, people were nicer and world was less complex.
I also have one How can I play them
Go on my channel Ferguson video star to android or how I copy VHS to TH-cam?

Thank you for uploading this!!! I watched this episode on the Discovery Channel in the late 90s or early 2000s, along with other frightening episodes of The Sleep Files. 💀 I don't know why these episodes are so rare, but I remember loving them and I'd love to have them all!
Living a few miles from CSB Faslane and a huge armament depot we will all be fucked up here..
Unbelievably great introduction theme. Brings memories back when I was a school boy in the 80s drinking my tea and watching World in action
Mate you've got fleas.
I hope that's not laughing at me!
So, how does that work again? Looks like parallel switching as did not demonstrate two-way switching. What more to include the intermediate switch?
I'm passing the buck but ask another video. More a case for me of a basic rig of it working and how I wired it. How it works I don't know. Maybe I've done it wrong but it turns the buzzer off with either switch. Be a lot more complicated I guess on say a switch upstairs and downstairs.
@@jackmilne9764 Done some in my time, not complicated, straight forward really
@@cybernatwa I never understood how their wired still unsure how it works. But made a basic rig to teach myself how it wire one. Problem is on a hall and landing a lot more longer wires labeling then etc

You do an excellent job of preserving these tapes. I do like preserving history, too. By the way, I am also a podcaster, and my podcast is called Revival Steam. This fictional podcast makes listeners imagine a world of 21st-century American Revenue Trains pulled by steam locomotives. I use railroad sounds from CDs, LPs, and cassettes for the podcast. Of course, I would have to ask permission first before using them. You have a good collection of videos on TH-cam of steam in Africa, Turkey, India, Turkey, Pakistan, and China. At some points in the videos, the sound of the action gives me an impression of American steam in revenue service during the 1950s. The sounds are great for me to use in my podcast. I would like to know if you can give me permission to use some of the sounds from these videos in my podcast. My channel has links to my website and podcast. I will also give you credit.
Go for it sorry it took so long to reply. Thanks Jack UK ps most of the steam stuff was pre 1988 when I was born
That cylinder near the end of the power supply is a ferrite. They suppress high frequencies to stop the wire acting as an electrical noise generator.
Is that to stop the humming noise?
Good video and reminder to check simple things first. Its easy to forget and dive straight into more complicated possibilities.
Thanks for watching mate totally different thing. But when I saw your flat screen repair you went through tons of effort for something simple that was this. It never occurred to check the brake fluid and hands up I never have either! Thankfully issue fixed been a MOT failure otherwise. Thinking next video a vintage 2 speed drill 2 speed switch broken so I bypassed it. Any ideas how I find out what resistor I need to get?
Thank you for posting. I saw those sugar railways on Negros in 1979 when roaming around the Visayan islands. One of the old steam locomotives is on display as a 'feature' in a park at Olongapo City in Subic Bay
Welcome Its just sad the Author isn't here to see it fingers crossed he's smiling down and his family watch it. Yeah my Dad said they weren't fussed on China a bit grey but Philippines was great.
how did you get it to work? mine just flickers
Uploading or the actual camera itself? Sounds gone on mine. To upload I brought a media transfering device issues is the usb broke so I have to use a tiny memory card adapter transfer it to my phone edit it through splice app. Cheaper way not as good is a easy cap to your Android phone. If you watch my tutorial about Ferguson video star kinda shows you on that. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185896742122?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=I8wamUzoQ5W&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=sWtSHs4ZR3O&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Decent camera but no sound. I love my 1995 Panasonic NV-S85B however not 100% reliable. I always go old skool copy it to VHS cassette first. Geeky hobby but I enjoy it plus I love the vintage look Vs hd.
If you have the JVC lower the shutter speed other wise the white balance is terrible like my Hoylake footage

Glad it works. I'm impressed that these old Panasonics are still working so well after so many years.
Check out @Nowt1002 channel
Do you have any more episodes?
Hi mate no I wish I did though
Some interesting shots there including the double-headed 87 on the fast passenger train. Amazing to think that was 30 years ago ! Shame about the sound. Is it like that when played through the camera or has it happened when putting it on here ? Is it something to do with poor stereo and dropout between left and right ? Crewe was a great place, especially for someone like me who only had Class 33s and 73s down in the southern region. Long before 94. I never saw this period on the railways, it was still BR when I travelled the country. Regardless of sound, it was worth uploading.
Thanks Il let my Dad know when I see him. I think it was on the original recording because when I copied it to my device it was doing the same thing. If you see my upload attempting to do what my Dad did back then in Chester, Manchester and Liverpool there's definitely not as much to see as back then.
Loved the end adverts, I was actually featured in a C4 documentary in the start of 1984 how I was an abject hooligan etc etc, old bloke now lol
What's it called I want to see it? I bet many a bloke who was naughty back then reminse to "I fort the law and the law won" ha
Today Russia has just 12 aimed at Britain, with them being MRV's they can effectively blanket most of the UK in one sitting... meanwhile thanks to Bliar, if we wanted to fire one back we have to go cap in hand to Washington "Dear Sir, could we have some of our firing keys?" so today's rather sad "deterrent" we cannot even fire in self defence and Putin has lost zero hours sleep at this because of Russia's sheer size... just think on when they claim in politics about this "independent" deterrent, against Russia and China it is far from even close to make either nation take pause and it is no longer independent with our firing keys kept by the US as part of the nuclear football... If you consider too that there is only Israel likely the only country we could nuke and win, our missiles wouldn't make a dent in Russia or China whilst we get erased in retaliation so WHAT is the point of paying through the nose for weapons we cannot use? The billions upon billions wasted on them could have rebuilt the Royal Navy and Air Force, kept troop levels at peak performance and all well supported and supplied and still cost the taxpayer less than a bunch of missiles that reportedly have a failure rate by some as low as 50% effective so if you look at it, 60 Tridents can fail, our remaining 60 has to be split between Russia and China and therefore 30 Trident strikes each is rather pathetic.
Really enjoyed this mate, quality video 👍
Your welcome mate Im trying to use old cameras today. Kinda a random channel mine old cameras,my dad's train trips, old television documentarys I've also started a random repair play list. I'm in sunny Ellesmere port now but lived in Bromborough And Eastham area until I was 24 now 36.
For context: UK road deaths have come down from around 6000 a year in the early 1980s, to about 1500-2000 now. But they seem to have stubbornly plateaued out- probably due to sheer driver recklessness.
