Was there. Great, great, show.
The crowd is all dudes.
Was at this show with a friend from work who has since passed. Had no idea until today that it was filmed. Thanks for posting!
I was there, making the trip from Iowa City. Great show.
Remembrance memory of concert at St.Polten (au) on our way back from bear country (Croatia) ,a group of 15y.o girls saying, I have seen the who in excitement!! Thank you Hans dear mate, even saw the son of Roger handing over one handcrafted 4 strings tamborič/ukulele for pete or Roger ,afterwards a wave of thank you hands from Roger's first love ❤️ the night after we have seen pete as playing schubert next to the church in Ulm 🇩🇪 But we are both double Dutch, great memory in friendship dear Hans ❤🤗
Saw them June 11 1974 MSG NYC unbelievable show were you there?
Got busted buying illegal jerseys haha. They let us go!! The show was incredible David killed it then the clash were on fire!! The WHO. We’re simply on the spot. Great show.
I was there!! Amazing concert.
Fantastic!
🎸🥁🎤🎹👍 rip ⭕❌ 🌗 Guy platteau Marseille France 😎
No more long hair for Roger, & curl hair for Pete & john's decent attire!
Kenny Jones brought so much to the Who during this period. Not a Keith Moon but such an incredible talent. Peter and John made the right choice insisting Jones take over for Moon.
Was this the 1st night or the 2nd night? I took my older brother with me from the Jersey Shore to Philly for the 2nd show. I was 18 at the time, one of the greatest rock n roll shows that I've ever experienced!
Scott played bass with myself&Jerry. this was early 2000s. jam band, he lifted us with his playing.
いいぞ〜😂 the who live( ඉ_ඉ )
I was there in the Hallenstadion 1980 -- just the day my father kicked me out from home with age 19 1/2. Just become homeless, 100 Swiss Franks in my pocket and a ticket for the Who gig! What an exiting day - unforgetable and thanx a lot for the upload Hellion92! Won't Get Fooled Again!!
64 year old here, SU alumni, living in Germany, and... I WAS F***G THERE THAT NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not a fantastic sound but it is an historic recording and i listen it with a great pleasure.thanks you veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy much.best regards from france
cool -- never heard R sing I'm One before........
Wow an audio recording of my first offical live concert (other than the rock club i went to since14) that summer was the who then paul mccartney 1989 veterans stadium TY
I was at this show! I forgot how good it was!!
Hellion92 how have you been doing long time no posts
Yes, I was there.
A Quick One hell yeah
Apparently ive heard that there is a high quality sounfboard of this show. But it is in The Who's Vaults and unreleased. Come on, there at least has to be one 1972 soundboard!
Легенда!!!
I bought this exact concert on 2LP gatefold bootleg back in 80 or 81. Little scratchy but l played it over and over. Good performance on this night.
Could only imagine what it must’ve been like to sit in front of this band in a small auditorium and being bombarded with their style of rock. Most powerful and exciting live band ever
Thank you for this, always wanted a better copy of this gig and now we have one.
Wow. This was my first concert. 14 years old. Unbelievable. Flo and Eddie opened up.
Me and my friend Richard were there - it was great and a vendor had some of John's original art for sale but damnit I didn't buy any - they played so great as you can see
After seeing this concert on TV in 1981, this concert became a benchmark for me to all other bands playing live. It's impact, John's sound and playing, it is from a level that I have not seen since. Extremely difficult to reach for any band playing live. So after seeing this and playing it over your stereo LOUD, you might as well not go to any band live. It's pointless.
48:56 Check out the death stare from Pete! He knows Moonie is off his arse.
One thing about the shows from 1979 - 1982 is the how much better the performances were once the song catalogue was defined. Here are the songs, play the shit out of 'em. However boring that was for Pete, it was better for the audience.
This 2000 Tour kicked arse! The band were firing on all cylinders. Wow! A total power house of some of the twentieth centuries’ best music. I love this band and have seen them numerous times . These shows were truly special.
Some guy on another TH-cam video said this was one of their best concerts
Where was Dennis?
That set list was beyond stale by then.
I was there and I remember the last song they played was, Hey Joe, as a tribute to..."the man that we admired and played with at Woodstock"...
Does anyone know why Artimus Pyle didn’t fill in?
That's damn good question. I guess he might have left the building by that point.
Mainly because he wasn't there. Bob Burns was still the drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd in November 1973. I've heard people say that Bob was asked to come onstage and finish the set with The Who, but he declined because he didn't know their songs.
According to the “Concert Files” book there were two shows at least one of them was for charity. The write up was very good. I know the Rockpalast show was very good. The playing in 81 seemed a bit more spirited than 82.
Wow! Contrary to what I'd read in the various biogs about the 1981 tour being a drunken shambles, this is a cracking gig. A fresh set list, lots of experimentation and improvisation. Despite Dull-Tory's carping, Kenney Jones is playing a blinder here. What a shame none of the fire and inspiration in this show was evident on their then-current LP 'Face Dances'.
Did you steal my money. Great post right there
no 5:15 or who are you ???
WGFA from this concert the set closer
the day after the infamous Rainbow concert
Pete’s guitar comes in fine but you can’t hear any of Keith’s drumming. Shame.
Great audience recording! Such a short performance!
Who remembers a giant, inflatable, pinball that got tossed out to the front section of the main floor for a few minutes at this performance? The audience reached up and pushed it around. What a great visual!
I was there, on the main floor in the 41st row. Listening to the recording of this concert on the 35th anniversary of its performance, and not having heard it since that night, I feel like I'm 22 years old again! It's exactly as I remember! Thanks for posting it!
