Fieldcraft Survival EDC Belt Bag - Organize your Everyday Carry Items
I have tried out multiple fanny packs, cross body bags, cargo pants, etc. for my EDC items without much success. That is until I found the Fieldcraft Survival EDC Belt Bag. This thing is great! It is comfortable, uses quality materials, has specific organizational compartments and is low vis. I really think its one of the best bags out there on the market.

I recently picked up a 2020 Highlander AWD with the V6. Only paid $24,000 and it had 40k miles on it. I had the RAV4 Hybrid, but after cable gate, of left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm also not a big fan of the new turbo charged 4-cylinder. Honda has cylinder deactivation, which I'm not a fan of, so my only option was the older Highlander. The V6 is a solid platform with no nonsense. Happy I picked it up, but the thought of over landing never occurred to me. Maybe once it's out of warranty I'll look into some mods :)
When you said you were a Toyota guy, you weren't kidding! Thanks for the video, and keep up the hard work!
I just got me a nice 2010 Highlander that I’m going to start building nothing crazy haha but we know how that goes
I wanna see the new Grand Highlander with a lift kit and huge off-road tires
I'm inheriting my wife's 13 highlander as my daily so i want to hook it up. does anyone here know about lift kits and suspension set ups?
does this have a torsen diff in back?
Best stocked shelves I've seen at a Walmart. Cool video man.
Where did u get the light bar and link plz
Hey mate how can I dm you? I have a questions about lifting the thing?
Actually I think a 1st GEN Highlander would've been even better but never ever say that you can pick up a Highlander dirt cheap. Cheaper than a 4runner? Sure but never dirt cheap.
I have recently seen a few 2nd gens locally go for 5-8k. Prices are going down. To me that is dirt cheap for a low mileage Toyota. I've seen 1st gens as cheap as 2.5k here recently. You can get them pretty dirt cheap especially if they need some body work or something. for what you get that price point is pretty dang good.
My neck of the woods (North East) prices are similar for both. Newer 4Runners are more expensive though.
just got a good running driving 2001 highlander awd v6 in TN. $2400 just needed to do a wheel bearing and she's mint, 220k miles
Hey this is super interesting, are you selling these or are they available for purchase somewhere?
Thanks! I am still doing R&D on the design before I sell it but it did well last hunt I did. If you message me on Instagram @this_weeks_wander I might be able to work out a single order for you
1:06 nobody expects a man with a fanny pack to be packin
What’s your tire size?
Some nice variety in the meals. Also havent gottem em yet byt bag holders would be food for sure. Great tip on the smoothie packs - I don't know why i never thought to do that! Thanks for the inspiration
Thank you so much! Becca loves cooking and meal prepping, so if enough people want to see more content like this she will definitely make some more videos on it!
Make sure to check out the website thisweekswander.com for some sweet merch! Thanks guys
Did you change the struts? If so, link, please
Struts are stock with spacers for lift
@@ThisWeeksWandercan you share a link with me where I can get full struts, please
Definitely lack of lube
Did you paint the black around the bottom of the car yourself? Looks great. I’m wondering if it was easily done with store bought auto paint.
That’s how it came! Limited trim
That’s what AAA is for.
@@mljones99 don’t have time to wait around for AAA brother! I see where you are coming from though.
Love the tilt design, I'll have to figure out how to redo mine (no tilt DIY)
Check out thisweekswander.com to view the full packing checklist! Feel free to check out some of the gear for sale as well
Hello friend, I am looking to mod my 2013 Highlander and I loved your Wheel and tire set up! Anyway you can provide the link for the wheels? I tried looking them up but there are 3 different ones. Any help would be appreciated!
I do not have the link since they are no longer sold where I purchased but the details are - wheels Vision Manx, 17x8.5 +0mm, Gloss Black with Machined Lip. Tires are Summit Trail Climbers but I would recommend a better tire as these have worn poorly
@@ThisWeeksWanderthanks for getting back to me! I’ll look into it!
Might consider putting in 2 or 3 feet of automotive electrical wire
Great idea!
Just for clarification. Many consider a get home bag to be defined as items needed to get home after abandoning the vehicle. Many of the things you have listed are vehicle repair, although a good list, they would not be things to "hoof" home while leaving your vehicle in my opinion. Since as you stated, your destination is 10 miles or less... What would help you achieve that goal that would be with you during that journey? Might consider, a bag for yourself, one for the wife and child. Just suggestions.
I agree. This was just a basic kit for as far as tools and kit needed to keep my rig operational. I agree that food, water, clothes and similar things are important to have as well for all members. Stay tuned for an updated prep bag for all of that
Congrats on the kid! When it comes, recommend adding spare food and changes of clothes for everyone into your kit. I have longjohn type clothes for everyone. Never know when you’re too cold or wet and need new clothes.
Great advice! I plan to have a baby go bag setup for that. Videos coming soon on dad loadouts as I figure out some good options
Hi could you please post the link where you got the tire and rims. Thank you
Is it a comfortable ride
yes!
Question here - how did you set-up/install your front recovery shackle? Thanks for the vid and I agree with the Highlander over the 4Runner when it comes to pricing, purpose and features.
I used the stock thread in hook and added a D ring to it. Mostly for looks, I would not trust it for any heavy recoveries at all.
that's part of the piston that's the piston arm.
My second ever car was a 93 Camry coupe with the 3 literally v6. My third car was a 2004 Solara with a 3.3. I got a brand new 2012 Highlander with the 3.5. Three years ago I got a brand new hybrid Avalon. I am really into the Tundra but I might need to sell the Highlander.
*3 litre. Smh friggin auto correct
Just bought a 2013 ltd highlander. Windchill pearl and cream leather. Love it. 39000 miles.
Can you link the spacer for us?
Sweet ride
needed billlet rod
Where did you get the lights on the hood at?
I need to install a traction control off button on mine so bad lol
lol. WHY? You look like the poster child for "this is muh 1st pew pew" Conceal it and be quiet about it.
It’s for hunting. When you have a pack on the waist straps get in the way. watch part one. You sound ignorant
@@ThisWeeksWanderDon't be soo thin skinned, you'll never make it if jokes offend you.
@@SnufflesFPS Im not offended. You just sound ignorant is all. thanks
@@ThisWeeksWanderOkay young man. carry on.
I use my highlander to pull my lawn trailer full time, thinking of buying another one. It’s the best vehicle ever built in my opinion. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a truck again.
The Highlander honestly is the best all around vehicle hands down!
Great video!...can you please send me the link for your low-profile platform rack and how you're attaching it to your Highlander Limited's OEM crossbars?....looks sharp, and your insight will save me some research time. I assume you're pleased with the rack?....I like how low-profile it sits/works with the OEM rack. Thanks in advance! 🙂
This is the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform. I got it second hand off of Facebook marketplace. It is attached with a ubolt type mount on the factory crossbars. You can find the rack and mounting on Amazon last I checked
Any place you know for Highlander skid plates? I'm going with a small torq engineering lift and all terrain tires for some overlanding out West. Not rock crawling.
There are actually a few options out there. I like this one - awdadventure.com/products/2008-2013-toyota-highlander-skid-plate?variant=42381927973102¤cy=USD&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwqMO0BhA8EiwAFTLgIJ1avbhpM_ekMALtN27_F2Cb3Gge8rv8Z_Y5FJvp1iiEk4XLmxaw3BoCQO0QAvD_BwE
Just purchased an 08 Highlander. Found some wheels and tires on marketplace but wondering if they’d work with a 1 1/2 lift. Toyo AT2 265/70r16??
You should be fine but might need to trim a bit. Its hard to say without knowing the offset of the wheels
Probably ran it low on oil. That creates excessive friction, that creates extra heat, then you get structural failures in the heavy stress points in the engine. A.K.A. you threw a rod dude. Tjat chunk was the lower end of your connector rod where it bolts together with the rod end cap that connects it to your bottom end(engine crank) when y9u blow up an engine thats what they mean. Catastrofic engine failure in the bottomnend of an engine is as bad as it gets. Yor rod end cap bolts were probably over tightened so it was bound to happen eventually. Cheap parts in cheaply designed engines means its only a matter of time till something snaps or seizes and depending on where the damage is and how severe you can or cannot rebuild it. You need a new block and rod and with the damage that does you need to just get a whole complete engine. Put a good rod and piston in the next one and head gasket and itll run for many years.
Another video shows these same types of "open diff" problems with the second gen Highlander, but it seems the "snow" button helps redirect torque left to right to the wheel without slippage.
Yes! I didn't think to use it in this video but tried it out and it does work well!
Whats the tire set up? Ty
Still debating if i should get a hybrid one or v6. I already have my ram 1500 hemi on mickey thompsons but i semi decent off trail highlander daily driver
Lots of people love the hybrid. Both are just as capable but the hybrid will give you better range and fuel efficiency.
You got this for 10K. What a steal!
haha considering KBB is valuing it at 32k ill let you do the math
Which version of tent is it? Thanks!
ARB Esperance tent
How's the unibody held up over trails and what not? Is it still going strong?
Still going strong! I don't beat on it but I don't think there are any worries about the unibody issues with this platform
can you get fender flares for it?
I have seen a few options out there. The highlander facebook groups are a great resource for those questions!
