My mother's family are indigenous Mexicans where the family land was passed down for centuries. The land is in the central plains of Texas and the land was once Mexico. So if I am ever deported to my country of origin I would be deported to Texas unless the United States gives back the land to Mexico. My mother's family did not live in a tribe but they said that before the European Spaniards came to Mexico they spoke a different language and the Spaniards force the people to speak Spanish. My father's family did live alongside the Comanche tribe and had children with the Comanche but still consider themselves as Mexicans not Native Americans. The pictures I see of Native Americans look like the same people in my ancestry without for the feathers and Native American apparel. I do know that the Native Americans people do not accept the indigenous Mexicans people as the same people as them. Their are very few indigenous Mexican people left, Mexicans people are an amalgamation of European, Asian, African, Jewish, Irish, Arab, Russian and many other cultures just like the United States.
