Your children will always remember this trip. It will leave a very strong impression on them, just as trips like this made on me 45 years ago. I know these trips are expensive, but you will always remember the trip, and the expense will be forgotten.

My dream is to leave everything and go to Norway. To live a peaceful life
Peace is within you. Listen to it. Hell is everywhere humans are, including Norway. It is up to you to decide whether the world will make you ill, or you will choose to not let it affect you. You cannot run away from the world, nor from yourself.

Nice to see someone else pulling weeds. 😊 I have regrets with how I worked too many hours away from home to provide for my family. The kids are young adults now and so far successful, but if any young parent wishes to listen…. I promise you there will never be enough money. Just when you get something paid off, something else will break. You will always be chasing these problems. So I learned too late that it is far more important to hold your kids close to you and your time with your love. The cats in the cradle song is one of the worst songs ever recorded in history of man because it is so true. More time fishing, even if you don’t catch anything. Less time paying off a credit card. More times settling disputes on the playground and putting Band-Aids on. Less time chasing overtime for the extra pay. More time teaching kids how to do something for them selves. Less time worrying. More time to enrich your love, less time away from home working. It wasn’t worth it. Now I approach retirement age, and 1/3 of our retirement plan was wiped out in 2021 because of the Covid bullshit. Any money we have saved and put away is now being spent just doing normal household repair things because inflation is 60 to 70% and I have the receipts for the last five years from my taxes to prove it. I guarantee you butter was not $7.58 a pound five years ago. But no amount of money, tears, anguish, or prayers will ever let me turn back the clock and spend more time with my kids.
So beautiful
Thank you so much!
Interesting video
Beautiful & Serene video ❤ thanks for sharing
Hi there. Thankyou for sharing a day in your life with us. The contrasts between the quiet time and the busy time, when the children are awake is beautiful. It is so important to have those quiet time, to " fill up your " cup to have the strength and energy and joy, for when the busy day begins. It is so important to teach the children to help with the household chores. They learn to appreciate, how a happy family functions and they actually love it too. Thankyou for sharing those tender loving moments with your husband. You are a fantastic Mom and wife. I am glad you are feeling better, but remember to take it slow when you feel tired!! Sending you so much love. ❤️🙏❤️🌷🤗🌷

So sweet, thank you so much for your lovely words!!
Sometimes the best medicine is to get away from the hospital.
So very true
Sometimes I wonder why I have such a desire to move to northern Norway, because I certainly don’t need to. There is so much beautiful, raw nature here in California. Maybe because there are fewer people in Norway? I like solitude most of the time. But I can find that here, too. Yet, I’m always drawn to pondering Norway.
Norway is a beautiful country and the peace and space you have there is wonderful! But emigration is quite a big step to a different life. And indeed, ultimately you have to create that peace for yourself. Emigration can also take away the peace you need
@@lifebymaureen And we don’t have biting flies in California ;) But no elk or reindeer, either… :( I have carefully reviewed UDI requirements and realized the best thing I could get started with was learning norsk at least to the A-2 level. The UDI requirements don’t change often, but they recently got more stringent on a few items. Yet I feel it’s appropriate and important to have a comprehensive and somewhat rigid approach to immigration/emigration. I look at Britain, Ireland and Scotland right now, just as I’ve followed how Sweden and Denmark have changed over the years. We can all argue the reasons without agreeing, but one thing is clear to me is that immigrant flow needs careful attention. Social services are expensive and cultural differences are important to consider. But I have watched many places in the States change so much that leaving here for someplace north of Bergen is very appealing. I don’t want to take away from the good your channel provides, so I will leave it at that. I will not form an argument here.
Amazing video 🥰🌹🔔
Thank you so much!!
Yayyyy, a new video❣️
I won’t tell the world all the things I did wrong raising my children, but I will say you are absolutely on the right track for realizing the problems that must be confronted, and trying to do the right thing… even when it’s hard. I think it’s safe to say our kids turned out well, even though I certainly didn’t make it easy on them. Had I known when I was your age, and truly understood what you talked about in this video, I think I would have inspired me to choose a different career path that wasn’t so demanding and live cheap enough to actually enjoy life. The stress of my career and the demands of trying to live in a safe and wholesome part of California affected me deeply. It still does, but now I’m just trying to make it to retirement. I often tell both our children how and why I’m proud of them and their achievements, and sometimes I look them in the eye and apologize for being mean when they were little. But the memories of my mistakes stay with me always.
Thank you for your openness! I think every parent makes mistakes and we would have preferred to handle some situations differently. That is why we are human and the great thing is that we can learn from these situations. And it is precisely by learning and then realizing that you can try again every day to be that loving parent that it is so valuable!
@@lifebymaureen You are right with that, as well. Perhaps my children would have distanced themselves from me as they are now young adults, but I think I’ve changed to where I’m a better person and so I feel we are closer, maybe? I can’t turn back the clock, but I can ad do support and love them more now than when they were little. It is always troubling to me how easy it is for me to recall all the times I was not a good parent and so much harder to remember the good times.
Thankyou, for this honest, beautiful and for me very emotional video. I gave a lump in, my throat and tears running down my face, as you so eloquently voiced emotions, l for years tucked away in suffering 😢 God bless you and your husband together in your new business, but please take it slow, the children are still young and motherhood a full time job. Take care... sending so very much love and lasting health. 🌷🙏🌷🌈✨✨
Wauw! Thank you for your lovely words, it means a lot to me!
Thank you. Hope you feel better.
I feel a lot better now, thank you!

สวัสดี
Looks like a good time spent with the little ones :) In one of your videos you made a brief mention of an immigration decision. Did you immigrate from the Netherlands to Scandinavia? Also… I had a Norwegian friend who said there is no such thing as Holland, after I mentioned I met some tourists here in California who said they were from Holland. What are your thoughts on that?
In the end we didn't emigrate to Scandinavia. We now live in a very nice village surrounded by nature. This ensures that I can find peace in the Netherlands that isn't available in many other areas in this small country. In many parts of this country there is little nature and there is a hurriedness and focus on yourself in this country that I cannot agree with. I think we should sometimes shift the focus from ourselves to someone else and look beyond our own small country in this big world. There are plenty of positive and negative things to say about The Netherlands. Maybe I'll make a video about it sometime!
@@lifebymaureen I've never been to that part of the world, but certainly want to. I would like to visit many other places, too in the Baltics. I suppose drive and ambition are prevalent in most societies. I still don't understand why someone would tell me Holland doesn't exist. I've read that it's just a different way of describing a region of the Netherlands.
It’s courageous to express your faith in our Christian god. Never be ashamed, never waver. Easy to say… hard to do. I’ve walked away from God so many times so I could allow my ego and stubbornness to guide me when God seems to ask me to be humble. Self-destructive results are sometimes the result of my thinking. But I am also at odds with the conflicting views found in Christian beliefs, and I fail to see the value of turning the other cheek to the ones who seek to destroy God’s good work. And that conflict is real, it is seen every day. Do I fight to protect that which is good and nurturing, even when it means I must become like the ones I fight in order to stop them from destroying me? How long can I stare into the abyss before it looks deeply into me? The natural world, silence, the sea and the wind are what calms me.
Of course it is sometimes difficult to see how certain things are handled. And I think we can play a role in making others aware of it in a loving and patient way. Jesus can be an example for us in this.
There are thoughts I cannot express publicly about all that I saw and heard in this video, but regardless, I enjoyed the video very much. It is heartwarming to see you and the little ones being out by the sea and splashing around in puddles. Saving the caterpillar and your focus on the details of nature are both windows into your soul.
Thank you so much for your lovely words!
Greetings from California. Your english is just fine. There was not a single word I did not understand.
Thank you very much for your response! Nice to hear from you!
What can you do about your anemia?
I get medication for it
The quiet ones are the ones that think. The ones that think are the ones who come to understand. Those that understand, realize the value of silence.
Thank you for your beautiful and profound words!
@@lifebymaureen Well, it’s how I see it, anyway. I feel there is something good and strong with a higher level of introversion. The mind keeps the body more distanced from other people for various reasons. Who is to judge what good or bad is when it comes to reasons? I had a much more enjoyable time at my last family gathering when I went outside and played with the goose. We each enjoyed each other’s company immensely. Ruffling feathers and being nibbled by a goose was far more enriching than the discussion at the dinner table. That may sound sort of strange or rude…. but who is to judge me?
@@stevenjohnson7086 I understand. There is a certain 'normal' created by society and within families, on which we base our judgments. But ultimately no one lives up to that 'normal' image
That’s interesting you mention you are a highly sensitive person. I have been working on myself this year trying to understand why I react so differently than other people and I learned a little bit about highly sensitive people… and it’s not exactly the way it sounds. But many of the traits I read about are things I deal with every day, both good and bad.
All the best for you - and thank you for your video.
Thank you so much!
@@lifebymaureen I`m hesitating a little bit to write following for you with the intention for your health - also out of compassion for you - I hope it´s not too close - and perhaps it`s enough to read once for you - and then to delete here - in my perception you are one of the persons where somatic - psychic - and spiritual dimensions are very interconnected and fluently wide open - as an example Teresa from Avila was long times ill in her life - and this also due to her "spiritual envelopment", not only because of somatic causes/ reasons - which can make people feel a lot helpless also - in my perception you are "spiritually very gifted" - and perhaps in a contemplative way/ spirituality - which for me is vibrant in your videos especially also with details of nature and light - if so - I wish you - and if you`d like yourself - someone who can see you and accompany you in a holistic way (whereas I appreciate much so called "school - medicine" - but if possible in a synthesis with a wider approach) - through dark and light equally. All the best for you.
@@JohannesD-jq1cp Thank you for sharing your opinion! I appreciate your openness and honesty and I read your good intentions! In recent months I have heard more often from people that the complaints I had could be mental. I fought for myself, because I knew the cause wasn't mental. This doesn't alter the fact that I'm highly sensitive and can therefore experience physical complaints more intensely. I wish you the best too!
@@lifebymaureen Thank you - and perhaps also sorry - my intention was not to stress on mental points - but perhaps more a holistic - including also a spiritual perspective, where pain can be also an expression of a "way of growth" - all the best I wish also for you and your family 🌈
@@JohannesD-jq1cp Thank you for explaining! I appreciate your kindness and sweet words!
Thankyou so very much, for this beautifully honest video. I can relate to your, every word, so deep in my heart. I so long " pretended" l was not in pain, for the benefit of the family...everybody. The body truly does not lie, so please take care of yourself, without feeling any guilt. That was my biggest mistake. I let myself become so ill, until l was of use to nobody.
