Thank you very much for the video! It was a huge help for discovering digiscoping before I even had the equipment with me. Although in the meantime, I've bought my equiment, a Lumix G9. Thanks to the function "focus ring lock", you can lock the focus ring to the closest, so you don't have to extend it everytime you turn on your camera. It still retracts when turning off the camera, but extends it automatically again when turning it on. I found that really practical and wanted to share it here. Keep up the great work!

closer setting = MACRO on the camera settings. That camera needs a pancake lens to set this up? Or will it work with any camera lens?

Dan, I believe you are talking about the Pentax K-Mount adapter. The DIGIDAPTER functions differently by using a camera and the camera lens mounted on the DIGIDAPTER. Take a look through the DIGIDAPTER video library at www.digiscopeadapter.com/info/video_library/

Paul and Rob deserve kudos for this valuable tutorial. It's somehow managed the delicate task of informing complete neophytes (like me), and yet appeal (I suspect) to 'scopers with plenty of field experience. I've seen lots of helpful videos on digiscoping but this one tops the list for comprehensiveness, clarity, audio and video quality. Well done!

Awesome, such a wealth of information! Many, many thanks! In terms of making camera-telescope setup more rigid, do you have experience with the Sirui TY-350 support bar/plate? Theoretically it should make the camera more stabel and therefor less sensitive for trembling.

Couldn't you use a T2 adapter or doesn't it work with the scope. Just wondering if that might work with the GH4. I believe I have some T2 adapter somewhere. Might be worth checking on Microscop as well. :D

Excellent explanation, information and tips! Thank you! I am really thinking about digiscoping quite some time now. After I have read the article on Tara Tanaka's work on mirrorlessons.com which really impressed me I think I really would like to do this. At the moment I think I need to be more clear before and such a video really helps me to better understand how that all works. So, the DIGIADAPTER is especially for the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 pancake lens I think. Unfortunately it is the one lens I sold some time ago but luckily it is not an expensive one. Does it matter what version of that lens to use? I am asking because I had the older version and Panasonic released a version II some time ago. Also, I wonder if the setup can be used for video...

Caroline, will try to get that done for you. Try watching the Zeiss version with Stephen Ingram. There are closeups and better lighting. Once the inner rings is installed, every scope version of the Digidapter works the same.

Very helpful to have a video,but please redo this with 1)better lighting and 2)some closeups when you are inserting screws,doing fine adjustments,etc. Thanks for making this adapter! Caroline
