I never met Jason but first seeing him in MBUK in 1992 it was the coolest thing ever! Myself and all my mates wanted to ride like him with his awesome style and amazing athletic abilities. Remember, this was all pre internet so VHS was the only way to view things at that time.... Thats when DIRT MTB video came out!!!! Me and my riding buddies use to watch it morning, noon and night. Linda.adorei😂❤
Glad you liked it.
Selling used Maui Hawaii push bikes now! What a creep
I have absolutely no idea what this comment means, please explain. Dwain is from Hawaii? Also this frame isn’t for sale.
Looking forward to this one ❤
Cheers bud
The most iconic bike of all time. Did you do a cost for the build lad?
Ill just say it’s very very high lol
@@sydneyretromtb Neil got offered a very lot for the his
So apparently, it's supposed to be silver JMC decals on the top tube... But i don't particularly want to start attacking the paint work of mine so i'm leaving it as is, ha.
Hi Mate, Yeah he has the silver decal as in the dirt vid….but they have been black for the past 5 ish years when Neil bought it off his parents. I’ve got the silver decals as well, so it will always be 99.9% accurate either way 😉
@@sydneyretromtb The only bit i haven't got is the Ti seat, be an asshole to find 1 of those. But i've said that for everything else though ha
Just gotta keep churning through the fb ground / marketplace / eBay. I’ve waited years to find some parts. It will happen my friend, it will happen.
You should try and make it to Malverns next year, trying to get all JMC owners together as it's the 30th anniversary of his death. Gonna try and get us to do a slalom race, would be fun.
Yeah I won’t be shipping this over to Uk, would cost an absolute fortune for the holiday.
@@sydneyretromtb Yeah fare, would be a massive mission
That's one fine ride you got there.
Thanks, much appreciated.
Nice work. What stem have you used?
Cheers. Answer A-Tac
Loved this, thanks for letting us see it!!
Glad you liked it. Part 2& 3 are coming out this weekend and next weekend!
Love the attention to detail. I could swear you and I talked years ago about those NOS Ules you were trying to source! I was a fan of JMC too, so I’ve owned several S-Works builds from the 90s, a couple are on my channel, but I’ve never come within a million miles of this level of authenticity.
Hi Mate, Hmmmm I had a look through Insta and FB chat and I can’t see any previous chats about the Ules. The m2 build bike check check is out next Sunday where you’ll see a stay I have of them lol. Click the notification 🔔 for the next two video releases. Ps carry on with the awesome content, and tell the cartel members to start pumping out some content 😉
Over 25 years ago, i was about 15 years old i get the 636 on my bike. Today i found a new pair of 646 (the grey version) for my new Trance X Advanced E+ 1 - 2024. Iam so happy. Best pedal i ever had for soooo many jears
Yeah cool pedals. I had the grey ones back in the day.
Is this the most iconic MTB ever? I think so
It’s certainly up there bud!
Running a set of these on my 2020 Marin hardtail! Serviced them quite recently. Fiddly job but they're running nicely now. I love classic look of them 👌🏻
Yeah they are awesome pedals. I’m just about to put a short video up on a bashed up set refurb…keep ya eyes peeled!
The old man still has work 😃
Not sure what this comment means…care to elaborate?
@@sydneyretromtb ı think the bike from 1993 - 1995 , ı have same giant like this have deore xt 24 gear set
Stunning ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Drooling to this bike
🤤
Epic ❤
Thanks boss
Sick bike mate. And thanks for reminding me how awesome de la soul are.
Ha ha cheers, that’s 4yrs of parts hunting right there! Yeah DLS are cool.
I need that T-Shirt as well 🤘🏼👌🏼😎
Bike Ninja 🥷
That's got to be the ultimate collection of bikes
Sure is bud.
Art & Science in one beautiful compound machine 💯
Couldn’t have put it better myself. 🔥
Bloody epic. If i only owned one! Wait....
😉
I could watch the jmc bike being built on repeat all day 👌🏼👌🏼
Check out today’s Fsr build video…and keep your eyes out for the final trilogy video dropping on the 24/8.
bent handlebars seriously spoil the overall image
The risers look fine.
Thanks for letting me know that riser bars aren’t your cup of tea.
Ooooo here they come! Too stuff mate. Love the attention to detail. Quick Q. How come the seat clamp is pointing backwards?
Cheers bud! Seat Clamp is like that….because jmc had it like that ☺️😉
A thing of absolute beauty 😍
😍
Bro, how do you find so many so old but so new parts? That's amazing! It's the coolest old MTB I saw on youtube!
Thanks for the kind words, glad you liked it. I’ve got two other jmc replicas dropping this coming week - keep your eyes peeled. And in regards to new old stock…year of hunting eBay and Facebook Marketplace.
How did you find the beed on those tyres? I bought a nos and they fell apart in like 2 weeks, was very pissed off considering they cost me 200 quid
Hi Mate, Just got them in like a normal tyre. They are in amazing condition. The next two JMC videos that will be dropping over the next few days, you’ll see some old tyres and have a few cracks in them…but I do have a nos Cannibal on one of the rigs.
the seatpost clamp is not xtr..
Correct - It’s an XT, I used the wrong New old stock box by accident….That box is for the next build video that will be released. It has already been addressed in my M2 bike check - break down video which will be coming out in a week or so.
Chill out
The Team RTS and the RTS-1 were made in the US of 6061 alloy. The RTS-2 and 3 were indeed made in Taiwan. Also, one way that you can tell a US made frame from Taiwan is that the GT logo on the back of a Team or RTS-1 frame is flat instead of rounded like the RTS-2 and 3. Your project turned out amazing by the way. I just picked up an RTS and was looking for videos on RTSes when I found yours. I can't wait to restore mine to Team specs.
Thanks for the kind words. Drop your insta or FB handle in the comments-I’m keen to see your build.
Mate, my old uni housemate lived just the north sides of the peaks of Glossop in Saddleworth. Now this is a super long shot as I know it’s still quite a distance, but know bike world is small and back in the day he rode a very distinctive and desirable bike. If you ever spotted an army green Spooky Metalhead with Z1 that was probably him!
Yeah can’t remember seeing that rig. Sweet set up back in the day.
Had one of these. Super fun bike. I put a Manitou EFC on instead of the mag21. Ended up breaking frame which was replaced with an RTS frame. Love the old GTs.
Thanks for sharing 🤘🏼
Nice resto. Amazing how well the old Manitou 4 works, huh?
Yeah they came up good after some tlc.
Forks on wrong
Please go and google Pace rc35 - That’s how they are made.
This dude singing is a fruit loop
Sean ( Aka Barry from Eastenders )
That GT RTS 🤩
Shame I had to sell it :(
It’s all fun and games when you’re using white spirit to degrease a chainset, but there ain’t nothing to prepare you for the absolute chemistry lab you’ll develop trying to get a seat post out when it’s fused through galvanic corrosion! 😂
😅
Very nice 🙂 I wouldn’t dare ride it 😬
It’s solid as bd fun to ride.
Great job! Now I want one 😃
Go for it!
I have always wanted to try one . awesome bike .
There’s still quite a few in the world, just get into the retro pages on FB and keep scanning eBay and you should be able to pick one up!
Awesome build!
I'm glad you like it 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Nice choice of upgrades dude! 😏👍
Thanks! 👍
I found this model of pedals in my city in mexico, they are brand new, they have never been assembled, the clip plates are still in their red bag, they have never been opened...I don't know if it is a good idea to use them for mtb or leave them as a collector's item
If they have never been used like these and still in the box, keep them as a collectors item. There are a lot of these in the world second hand, so I’d use them if they were already scuffed up.
@@sydneyretromtb No friend, I don't have them in the box, it doesn't have its original box, I only have the pedals and their plates, but I don't know what to do with them
@@cdanielbecam2714 Keep them.
Didn't these get band as someone literally took their shin off?
Have no idea, I’ve actually seen 10 times worse bear tap pedals from back in the day that never got removed for being to savage.
Gorgeous
Nos….still in the box 😉
Vaya currada!! Ha valido la pena...
Thank you 🤙🏼
Had one of them for a hot minute. Brining back memories
Glad this brought back some memories….thats why I started the spinning parts series….get a close up of the parts we use to have back in the 90’s!
We shop guys back I the day all road XT because it was cheaper and a bit stronger, who knew it was lighter too!
It’s good kit for the $ value
Ran that fork on my Zaskar Se for 1 week. Soooo noodly. But those frames were so stiff almost any for would wander. Clean build. Great work
Appreciate it, cheers.
That fork!!!!!!
Still stunning 30yrs later.
