Hey Yall, I'm Russell.
What we do: Will it start, budget rescue, cheap cars and trucks, Copart walk arounds - plus homestead stuff and skills your grandparents knew, and parents forgot.
I'm a regular all-American kind of guy. I drink my coffee black. I'm a family man. I fix things. We have chickens and look forward to the day we can have more land and animals. I fix old, cheap and often forgotten things. I love a good auction. I buy too many cars at Copart and love to camp.
Just a heads up - the Amazon links in my videos might have affiliate links, and if you make a purchase, I could earn a small commission. No pressure - and I promise I will tell you my honest opinion of whatever is going on.

Im just curious about the 10 years but time will tell. I just got 3- 12v newti lithium batteries and charged once when it got to 79 %. That was a week and a half later. This 2004 ez-go txt has NEVER gone this fast. Gps it on waze and was doin over 15 - 18 mph ! And shed 200 pounds !
Lithium batteries are indeed worth investing in. Recently, I upgraded my 06 club car to Vatrer 48V lithium batteries, which use A-grade cells and are currently performing well. I no longer need to spend time maintaining the batteries.
I’ve been looking at their battery. I picked up a 48v project cart that needs repowering.
How are you like the tires? In the winter and off roading? Looking for a budget tires.
I've not had them in the winter yet. They have been great on the road, on the sand and in the rain. I've got a few thousand miles on them. They do tend to hold a bit more gravel than others I've owned....but for the price I'd buy them again.

WHAT
Im about do do this setup for one that came with an abandoned golf course i bought
That sounds like a blast!
I recently bought a 2007 EZ-Go cart and everything on it looks brand new, the entire cart looks brand new, and zero rust. I got it from a shop and the lead acid batteries were manufactured in April 2024. I still want lithium, but it will be lightly used so I’ll wait to see if it worth upgrading now or is I should wait until the current batteries run their course.
I would rock the ones that are in there until they don't meet your needs!
Hi there. I like this video. Have couple questions ? How much is membership $/ per year Lets say you want to buy car for 10 000$ , how much are fees to Autobid and Coparts together or separate ? Do they have byuing power ? Like Copart Can you inspect car at Copart lot? If not how much is to inspect car fees? Thanks
Hey, great questions! You can see the differences in memberships in the link below. I personally have the Premium for $350. I like the 20 vin checks, and lower fees. I think if you buy 2 cars a year it's worth it. Different membership levels have different fees. Most of these fees are from Copart itself. I've had a membership there (and at IAAI) and their fees are always more than I want to pay. There is cool final price estimator on AutoBidMaster's site. For me a $10.000 car would look this: Final Bid $10,000 USD Auction Fees $1,188 USD Autobidmaster Transaction Fee $400 USD Documentation Fee $139 USD Total $11,727 USD They do have buying power. I typically just a credit card when I want to bid. They will put a 10% hold on your card. AutoBidMaster says on their site you can inspect. I've not tried it. All my copart walk arounds were on my old copart membership. Hope that helps. blog.autobidmaster.com/2021/11/autobidmaster-membership/#:~:text=AutoBidMaster%20membership%20has%20four%20subscription%20levels%20that%20allow,full.%20They%20are%3A%20Guest%2C%20Basic%2C%20Advanced%2C%20and%20Premium.
i built a battery from a used chevy tahoe hybrid pack, it's basically a prius pack but with 2 extra cells to make it a 50 cell bank. i built the pack in 8 cell segments of 7.2v cells, then in series of 5 to equal 36 volts. i use solar panels to charge the pack in the sun and a 42v hoverboard battery charger when it's cloudy out. at 42 volts the cart moves pretty quick too and shows no signs of being too much voltage. with the 2amp 42v charger the cart will go about 2 miles on 2 hours charge. low voltage threshold built into the cart basically stops trying to push the cart at 28v, the NiMh hybrid cells can easily handle the upper and lower limits of this setup. i'm still balancing the pack slowly so i have no idea the true range of the cart, haven't left on charge for very long as of yet. likely will see some signs of battery degradation after years of use but these packs are like $100 now. i paid $300 for 2 civic hybrid packs, 1 G2 insight pack, 1 chevrolet tahoe pack and a ford fusion lithium pack(4 NiMh and 1 lithium in total) from a wrecking yard that wanted to stop tripping over them. the lithium pack is worth what i paid for all 5.
hey weird question, what does it weigh? for gross net weight on the build sheet?
I honestly don’t recall…we ended up selling it to a traveling mechanic.
What’s the 12v converter for?
Great question! It runs the 12v headlights and taillights.
Awesome thank you! I actually just got a hand me down golf cart that needs batteries and this is the exact kit I’m going to use. Thanks for the video and Amazon links!

If you booked transport through the broker they will take care of the gate code and lot number
have everyone use the Temgot golf cart battery?
I've been eyeballing them...Think I should try one?
@@BootstrapRevival yep
what is the green part that the wires are hooked up too?
I had to replace the factory controller because it was fried. I used a Navitas 440 Amp one...works great!
Ok thank you
mine is leaking on both sides here my first subaru i kust dont get it is the the cap and thats it so mine is leaking bc it got old?! or could the preasure be to high? hope i get an answer thanks alot
How did you connect both banks together and where did you connect your positive and negative cables from the cart ?
Hey Chris! I did 2 banks of 3 in series (12+12+12 =36) and I put the two series in parallel. I connected the controller directly the batteries. I should be picking up that cart from the farm this week. I plan on doing a few videos on it. In the meantime - I found this photo online that explains the wiring diagram. Hope it helps! 1.bp.blogspot.com/-M1ODn4PU4tg/YJDjFM_DaVI/AAAAAAAAAvc/T8qNwnKsNr4DfsI0VB-YPOHgOSjOxS0YgCLcBGAsYHQ/s710/battery%2Bconnection%2Bin%2Bseries%2Band%2Bparallel.png
That's awesome thanks
Question, whats the best membership to get im seeing they say percentages for the transaction fees. So if I have the advanced membership and purchase a $10,000 car will they really charge me 7%? Help me out man...
I personally bought the premium that charges 4%. I think if you buy more than one car a year it will save you cash. The fees suck but unfortunately its industry standard. Any auction site or live auction (other than eBay) will charge the buyer a premium. Most live auctions I go to are upwards of 10% - including land and houses....talk about painful. Those fees charged by copart and passed on to the buyer through the broker. I've had a membership with them (and IAAI) and those fees are their fees to stay in business. The sale price actually goes to the owner (and is what is recorded to the DMV). I like the final price estimator AutoBidMaster has on their website. It keeps me wrangled in on what I buy. If it is a 10k bid I generally factor in 1k in fees.
I was desperately trying to find out this information less than 24 hours ago. Winning bid, desperatly trying to figure out how to pay, Zelle payments were not working at the time according to support. Bank app won’t let you do wire transfer. And finally all the rules / regulations on the broker site made it seem like shipping the vehicle was mandatory. After it was all said and done I’m the proud owner of an 02 Escalade with a blown trans. And 333k miles. Should’ve known better, if it looks too good to be true it is. Not deterred though.
Man - it is a lot to juggle your first time through. It is not hard just different. Fortunately, those transmissions are not hard to come across on the cheap!
Thank you for your videos!.......... has anyone said you sound like Steve Caroll?

Good video Theres better products out there
Hey any update on these? How're they doing?
Sorry yes! Still great. Just got back from towing the camper up the mountains for the 4th. The like to pick up rocks, thats about the only bad thing I can say about them. I'd buy them again!
I put three of the 12v Everready24dc, $300. I also purchased 36v charger from Amazon, $120. We Went camping all weekend. The cart did amazingly! I plan on charging the batteries at least once a month. I just hope they last for a few years. We will see! So far so good!
What symptoms were you having with the transmission. I watched the video of you replacing the solenoid. I have a 08 Mariner with the same transmission and its stalling when holding the brake. Otherwise its shifting fine. Shop says its the torque converter but im not sure. Thanks for any info!
Probably the forward reverse switch,it's rebuildable
So I did the 3 battery set up but seems my batteries are draining quicker now. Any ideas an I went to a bigger gage wire ?
I didn’t think I was this stupid but how are you charging the batteries
I'm using a lester summit 2 with a lead acid setting. Factory charger would work too but I don't like them because they don't cut off automatically.
WOW!!!!!
The thing I see that stands out is, I see 6 batteries in there, 12 volts yes, but 6 batteries. 3 in parallel with 3 more , so still 36 volts and more amps , but no weight savings at all. I used 3 deep cycle marine batteries for 36 volts. We don’t run it long distance but it goes good and only chargers it about once a week.
Can I use 3 lithium batteries of 12 v, 76 ah? Can it work?
Quite possibly - you need to check the manual on the batteries. Some can be used in series. Its on my list to try!
Abetted bid is scam master nothing else
Why the Lester summit charger ? I seen on Amazon the chins battery and charger combo for $950. What’s wrong with their charger ?
I'd love to get my hands on the Chins charger - it was not out when I got my battery. I think anew project cart may be in order!
@@BootstrapRevival, they had a sale the other day. I got a 36v 100amp with charger for $850 on Amazon. Keep an eye out as prime days are almost here
@@BootstrapRevival, they have the battery and charger on prime day for about $750.
Can you put everything needed in the kit for a conversion in the comments please.
What app did you use for this test? Everyone I find is a joke!
I *think* it is called "Speedometer>>". Its in the Apple app store.
So I’ve decided I want to do this conversion. Can you put out a video that speaks more to everything that needs to be installed ?
Installed one of these CHINS for the Mother-in-Law. Pretty good I must say, stock everything else. 2008 EZGO TXT-PDS. I didn't want her to need to open an app to monitor status and installed an LiTime Monitor with Shunt. I may not have ever known there was an issue had I not installed the add-on monitor but the REGEN is apparently not regenning.... the LiTime monitor records the REGEN amps going back to the battery (which is reporting 99% Remaining) but BMS is reporting 62% remaining (kinda what I expect without the regen). Haven't found a tweak to remove the regen calculation for the status in the monitor or on the battery to accept the regen charge. Any thoughts?
Oh man, I have no good insight. We swapped out our controller with the Navitas because the OEM was toast. I know the Navitas has a programmable regen setting, but I'm unsure if you can adjust the EZGO. How do you like the shunt? I'm thinking about putting one on my RV.
Mine was # in circle. What does that meant.
Hey bro! I saw in your video a truck loading 3 cars at once. Could you please guide how to order such truck in U-Haul or somewhere else ?
Not sure I know how to help with that one. I’ve used u-ship but that was for a single vehicle.
Would it handle a 600 amp navitas
I'm not sure. Our cart was using the navitas 440 with no issue. I think the 48v battery is rated to discharge 500a at once. Will the navitas consume all 600 at once?
Those things are absolute JUNK! I've had two fail that are a little over a year old. Tried to do warranty claim and they have been giving me the run around for 2 weeks, every time you give them information they want more and respond two days later. STAY away from this junk, it's going to cost you more in the long run.
What do you recommend?
@@chentez1 good question! I liked the lithium batteries when they worked, much lighter and the voltage is constant until it dies. I bit the bullet and bought an Eco Battery, the price has come down a little but still paid 2800 bucks! Time will tell if it was the right decision....
I can't speak to his experience but ours has been rock solid for a year. My in-laws are not exactly kind to it and its held up.
Yeah, it sure is crazy. Both vehicles we’ve bought from Copart had bent up and damaged exhaust pipes from being loaded like this.
