Mythos Palace Resort in Corfu - Sept 2024
Just come back from the above hotel, and to be honest I was not overly impressed. It is rated as 5 star by the hotel and 4 star plus by holiday firms (Jet2 and Tui). Everyone has different opinions of things and these are solely mine.
Pros -
1) Stunning views over the sea towards mainland Greece from the sea view room and also the beach.
2) Remotely situated (no buses so need to get taxis) if you want a quiet stay in a hotel experience.
3) Lovely café (The Olive café) is a 5 minute walk along the seafront
Cons -
1) Mediocre food. Everyday was 'samey' and most of the time lukewarm. Vegetarian options limited bearing in mind official advice is not to eat salads washed in the local water.
2) Rooms - All classed as superior rooms. Sofas were heavily stained and not cleaned properly. We complained and got an upgrade to a room with a plunge pool. The bed we had, the mattress was uneven and uncomfortable. Very basic amenities inside.
3) Empty mini bar fridge even though it was advertised as all inclusive..by Jet 2. You had to pay for it!
4) Staff you would expect to be happy, but the service at times was poor and ' I couldn't be bothered' sort of attitude.
5) Building site going on opposite hotel
6)Bar in the front car park
7) Stained sunbed mattresses
8) Small swimming pools x3
9) Location is too remote
I could go on, but as I said this is my opinion and the experience i had was not good. I have come away from this complex not satisfied and feel the holiday companies are misrepresenting what this hotel actually offers for its star rating. Lastly, the hotel has lost its Kairaba name and now only goes by Mythos Palace. PLEASE read online reviews and seek others views.

Nice
Thanks
Gotta luv the dad dancing tho.
They were brilliant. Saw them a couple of years ago at Chilfest in Tring. Superb
OMD should have been the headliners - they totally rocked! Thanks for sharing ❤
and these are paid to teach u common sense
Common sense, yes, but that was not how the test was conducted, unfortunately. Thx for the comment.
He was right the first time
Jay from the inbetweeners is doing well in his new job
What a complete waste of everyone's time and money. plus the damage this has done to the caravan industry. less regulation and more common sense. and NO, I do not give two Fs about your precious "safety". The west is drowning in safety regulation right now and that's a big reason why china is kicking our ass!
Have fun
Once again... congratulations
Good on you my friend , there's nothing like having your driver's license and the freedom that comes with it. I suddenly had alot of so called friends when I got mine.. be safe and God bless you mate. Welcome to being a real man 😉
Lovely comment thank you.
What planet you on about its easy its bloody impossible failed 3 times won't even go back straight I've give up waste of money its all pot luck xx
Hi. You do not need to take the test anymore Terry. You are allowed to tow a trailer up to 3500kgs now without any training. If you failed three times then I blame the instructor for not coaching you correctly on the reversing.
Couldn't recommend Neil enough. Genuine bloke
Thank you Richard for the feedback. Have Simon tomorrow.
Congrats and keep working hard
Congratulations 🤗
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
L ! Unexpected to see you here! Hope all is well 🙂
permitted towing weights are changing this month
Law changed on 16 December to allow anyone to tow a trailer up to 3500kgs once they have passed a driving test.
Nothing more liberating than getting your license good job 👏
Thank you for your positive comment.
Neil is hugely out of touch for thinking this is a good way to advertise anything lmfao, just take the money from the poor girl for the driving lessons and stop making her an uncomfortable ad model 🤣
Thanks for your reply. Always welcome feedback even though I will choose to ignore it.
Bit late now aint it lol
This was done before the announcement...
@@neilemmerson2830 I know, I was being sarcastic. I paid to take my B+E test to find out I didnt really need it as my combined mass was only 3350kgs now find out that I could have got it for free.
@@stevecampbell7589Thought you were.. I feel for you. Your instructor if you had one, should have pointed that out to you before you took the test.
@@neilemmerson2830 To be fair, I didnt tell the instructor what weights my car and my trailer was at the time. I was going by advice of my uncle who has a grandad license saying I can only tow 750kgs. It wasnt until after I passed the test that I found out I could always legally tow my trailer. My plated GTW now is 7000kgs with my Transit and my drop side trailer which I brought back to Durham from Maidstone with a small Peugeot Expert. That outfit is in my picture. I dont regret taking my trailer test though as it turns out my uncle makes lots of mistakes when towing his caravan.
@@stevecampbell7589 this government decision is ridiculous and will not improve road safety. In theory a 17 year old can pass the driving test one day and then tow a trailer up to 3500kgs the next without any training. Nonsense!
So, how many people on here are a tad miffed that they had to spend all that money getting something that is now free??
I bet a lot of people are who have taken it this year. Ridiculous decision by our government who do not give a toss for road safety.
@@neilemmerson2830 I think they should still make you take a test for towing a caravan but I'm pretty happy with the decision otherwise. It's going to benefit me quite alot as I'm in construction, mainly groundworks, so being able to tow small diggers etc. will be useful and save me money on transport fees, but I think there will be considerably more caravan accidents than normal trailers simply because if you tow a reasonably heavy trailer it's probable that you tow it regularly whereas a caravan may only do two trips in a year.
@@whatyousaidbud see your point re caravan usage compared to trailers used for work but the rules were complicated enough before the announcement was made. You cannot distinguish between the type of extension to the vehicle for the purpose of a test. Thx for your comments though
I' m I right in saying if he hasn't done the test he is not entitled to drive B+ E. Because even though the tests have been canceled from the 20th no date has been set for when entitlement will be added to licences. See gov. UK for the info on this.
Hi.. the rules change in the autumn so until then L plates must be displayed and people supervised if they want the larger trailer on the back of there vehicle.. it’s a complete mess from the DVSA. The law change is currently going through Parliament to get Royal Assent.
@@neilemmerson2830 Yes a bit of a mess. I suppose it could take a while for the law to change. I don't understand why the don't reinstate the 7½t entitlement on car licences after 97. This gave drivers a chance to drive lorries and see if they liked the job and take further tests. And what's more dangerous a fully laden 3½t van towing 3½t or a 7½t lorry.
@@CraigDavies. Unfortunately the Government does not think along the common sense route. This decision has probably been made by a tea making person in an office!!
Thank you for sharing. I should do more also 💪✌️
Got a caravan going to be towing it with out a B+E because the total weight of car and caravan wouldn't exceed 3500kg crazy rules but hey DVSA know best
Proud you you cuz its good to see young people stepping up and taking the reigns
Really important that people get the right training and take responsibility in order to contribute towards the reduction of road deaths. He did well. thank you for your feedback.
Stop making your students post these. I feel second hand embarrassment for them
😂😂😂😂😂me and you both
In this morning I just go to b+e driving test, but I fell 😔😔 where your test area? Maybe next time I use your company!!
Hi.. I cover Hertfordshire area and use Leighton Buzzard AND Enfield test centres
Good stuff! Enjoy the horses!
Congratulations
you dont need a tow license for anything under 750kg right? total weight under 3.5t
You must add the plated vehicle weight to the plated trailer weight. If combined weight is over 3.5t then you need B+E,
@@neilemmerson2830 thank u i nearly forked out £800 for a B+E just for towing a small little trailer for tip runs
@@Erevoking yup, but now no one has to fork out anything 🥳🥳
@@neilemmerson2830 you missed out that you can go upto 4250kgs train weight if the tow vehicle has a MAM of 3500kgs.
@@whatyousaidbud that’s pre Jan 1997
Reversing upto 50cm is very difficult 😕
Take your time and just get in a position to attach the cable. Don't worry about 50cm..lol
50 cm is 500mm, that was more like 70 mm
Anything to screw money out of people, if it was to do with safety it would be free.
Unfortunately government courses will never be free. Thx for your feedback though.
@@neilemmerson2830 That's ok as it isn't your fault, it is what we get when we register children at birth :(
What a lovely lady 😀
Is that a learner reversing ? Not the best attempt.
Absolutely spot on, under complete control and in the bay first time. You are talking nonsense.
@@neilemmerson2830 what a load of codswalllop. All over the place and completely wrong angles hence having to shunt. Learn to drive.

Great help Neil. Thank you for this 👍
henry falkingham hope it has helped
y would you pay these muppets when its a simple thing to reverse with a trailer or caravan if you take youre time
Expert are we? Think you could pass the DVSA driving test? Service is provided for those who need it. Not a useful post but thank you for taking time to comment.
Guy behind the camera sounds like Geoff Shreeves from sky sports aha
Thank you, very helpful and straight to the point 👍
James Martin Glad it helped.😃
What trailer do you get tested with can it be a standard flat bed trailer or does it need to be a box one. Also will it make a difference if its a single or double axle as well. Thanks
Hi Trailer must be covered and plated to a minimum of 1000kgs and have either 600kgs of sand, aggregates etc or 600litres of water. Click on this link for more information www.gov.uk/car-trailer-driving-test/trailer-rules
This is the greatest money making racket ever thought up ,firstly the cut off date for the requirements is totally arbitrary in the UK it's 1996 while here in Ireland it's 1990 so you have to pay for eye test, a theory test a new provisional licence plus the test itself and maybe a lesson or two because we all know being able to drive and passing the test are two totally different things. I am from an agricultural background and can and have sat on many weigh bridges with a tractor and trailer combination tipping the scale at thirty tons with my current licence and that's perfectly legal even an artic trailer on a dolly but if I put more than 750 behind my jeep I'm breaking the law
Thank you for your comments. All feedback no matter what opinion is is welcomed
Same situation in South Africa. I chose to do a Code 14 which is a UK equivalent of C+E because of my agricultural background. The tests are not bad.
Neil, thanks for this guidance. I'm considering taking my test to be able to trailer my wife's track car to and from events. Your videos have helped me to gain an understanding of what sort of things the test involves. If you have chance to reply, I have a question about the coupling/uncoupling part. Where you are required to hoist the trailer onto the towing ball, what provisions if any are given for a person who may physically struggle with shifting the weight of the trailer? I'm sure it's an improper way to do it, but to avoid shifting the weight of a ladened trailer by hand before, I've observed a person at a race track raising the trailer enough to maneuver the towing ball of their vehicle underneath the hitch of the trailer. Whilst it was affective for the lady, who had no chance of moving the trailer under her own power, I suspected at the time it was improper and subsequently wondered if any provisions were made for such people unable to move the trailer due to build, injury or disability? Thanks for your time posting these videos and replying to comments. Very decent of you.
Tom Clarke Thank you for your feedback on the videos. I am glad they have given you a better understanding of the test. Regarding your point about manoeuvring the trailer... once you have uncoupled the hitch will be above the tow ball of the vehicle in any case. The examiners expect you to be able to pull the trailer over the tow-ball. You cannot reverse the vehicle back and hit the hitch area (fail) but it is important to get as close to the hitch to avoid excessive pulling of the trailer. It can be difficult to manoeuvre the trailer but I have never had a candidate fail on this aspect due to slight build or injury. The test centres I use have nice level tarmac areas allowing easy pulling. In reality it may be more difficult due to uneven surfaces etc. The examiners in my experience have always given candidates plenty of time to carry out this aspect of the test. I hope I have answered you question? Good luck with any test to be taken.
Guys if you wanna pass the exam do not hesitate to call NEIL EMMERSON. Got my B+C today, a big thank to Neil Emmerson for training.
Thank you Ali for your kind words re your B+E test pass today. Hopefully more work for you now?
@@neilemmerson2830 Thank you Neil, absolutely amazing tuition. Just ignore B+C, B+E I meant.
So we aloud one hand on steering wheel ?
When doing the reversing you can do what you want with the steering (Crossed hands, one handed). Just make sure when driving out on the road to use both hands on the steering wheel. Hope this helps.
@@neilemmerson2830 nice thanks

I was just curious when looking at my test sheet lmao. So I'm here 🤷 0:52 sees woman touches everything lul.
?
Is it acceptable to leave the engine running and step out of the vehicle? On my car test the examiner would not allow me to do this (to get the air con on on a hot day) as I 'would not be in full control of the vehicle'
Thank you for your query. When you recouple the car to the trailer the engine must be switched off. Serious fault if you do not. When reversing your car back into position to recouple you can leave the engine running in order to check distance from said trailer to attach the brakeaway cable. Hope this answers your question.
