Frag Out Friday video #5 El Presidente
The "El Presidente" shooting drill is a popular exercise used in firearms training, particularly among law enforcement and competitive shooters. It is designed to help develop skills in drawing a firearm, improve accuracy, aid in target transition, and increase speed under pressure.
1. Start Position: The shooter stands with their feet shoulder-width apart and faced away from the targets, arms crossed over their chest or in a relaxed position.
2. Draw: On the signal (often a whistle or a command), the shooter turns to face the targets, draws their firearm, and engages each target in succession.
3. Engagement:
Shoot each target with two rounds.
The shooter should aim for accuracy while maintaining speed, transitioning smoothly from one target to the next.
4. Reholster: After engaging all three targets, the shooter will safely reholster their firearm.
Scoring:
The focus is typically on both speed and accuracy. Many trainers time the drill and assess how many hits are on-target within a specified time frame.
Penalties may apply for misses or failure to meet time requirements.

In today's video we will be covering X drill! The X Drill is a specific shooting exercise often used in competitive pistol shooting to improve accuracy, speed, and overall shooting skills. This drill usually involves shooting at a target that has a designated "X zone", which is often a small area or shape within a larger sized target. The objective is to hit this center (the "X") as accurately ...

In my latest video, I take a deep dive into the Tisas 1911 DUTY 9 DS, a double-stack 9mm “2011” that has gained significant interest of late. With a price tag of around $950, it shows impressive features on paper, including ambidextrous safety, grip safety, and a skeletonized trigger. From a design perspective, it blends classic and modern aesthetics. The upper half embodies the traditional 191...

Awesome drill, can’t wait to try it out myself
Low left is grip. Move your shooting hand thumb OFF and press support hand on grip. Place shooting hand thumb over support hand.
You have to change front sight, it is too tall. I got the Tisas Fiber Optic Front Sight to easily fix problem. Awesome pistol
@@Three_Percenter thank you for the comment! That actually makes a lot of sense! I shot it last weekend and was thinking the rear needed to be higher. Thanks again! 🤙
Excellent video. Same results. Low left with mine out of the box. Got an optic on it now but something I need to address sooner or later. Love my Tisas 1911 DS Carry!
@@DesertTactical thanks for the support! Gonna do a follow up video once I get an optic in for it 🤙

@ exactly what I do.
I feel like people don't give this brand enough credit keep in mind I'm someone that is very picky with their firearms and this specific brand has been excellent in my opinion for a budget gun. While I was in between jobs and the past I worked as a gunsmith for a gun store and I really didn't know what to think of this brand until someone convinced me to go to the range with them and put several hundred rounds down range with it. I can say after about 400 rounds ( I know that doesn't speak for the longevity of it) I was impressed and have no problems recommending it to people who are looking for a decent backyard gun to Plink with. Excellent review and as always I'm happy with your content and I'm excited to see you getting into doing some reviews
Nice to see some AK love.
It’s a start
Meal Team 6
I like to see drills like this with low round count. It's nice for people who might not have a large ammo budget. Also wanted to say that the video was good it was short to the point and informative. I don't know if you've got to use one yet but the mantis Blackbeard is a really nice tool to have for the AR platform I got one for myself and my son and they're great especially when paired with the app for indoor training on rainy days more days when you just want to practice inside. Of course there's no recoil but there's still a lot you can do with them. Final thing is that I would love to see a video on some of your firearms and general information about them.
@@magman687 we use the Mantis systems in my garage at home for dry fire and absolutely love them! I have both the rifle and pistol version and they are an amazing tool to use during the week before going out to the range for some live fire work. We can 100% do a video on how we use them, and also some tips and tricks to help maximize your ammo budget, time spent at the range, and improve your skills. We have been talking with a few people about doing a “kit shakedown” video here soon. We absolutely can go over the kits we use, weapons in our rotation and how we have them set up. Would love to provide some general information surrounding why we are using/testing the equipment we have. Lastly we greatly appreciate your support, comments, and feedback! When people make comments like yours it allows us to create videos based solely on the content that our viewers want, and allows us to share the knowledge and insight we have which is exactly why I started this channel and started instructing!
@bairtactics6180 that's awesome I have four main loadouts that I use right now all hanging on the wall in order and I just grabbed whichever one I need based on situation. I've been doing this type of work for about 17 years now. That being said I always enjoy seeing what others do because I always end up learning something whether I meant to or not LOL. I don't know if you have the facility to do so or not but me and the team recently have been working a lot more on working together to clear buildings but we don't have the time or necessarily the drive to create videos on that type of training. If that's something you're ever interested in doing it would be cool to see how you all do it because I've been doing it for many years and I actually just learned a new technique about 2 months ago. I love training aid videos like that because there's a lot of times and I'm just lazy or we just for some reason can't take one of our guys to the shoot house to train him up correctly so it's at least nice to have a video if done properly that they can reference until we actually get them to the shoot house.
That's how you do it right there I love it whenever I see somebody that has a malfunction and instead of stopping the drill they clear the malfunction and continue on like they're supposed to. I see so many people that with the slightest inconvenience they stop the drill. By the way I'm Mr Taylor's Old Flame from high school. he's been telling me about this friend he had that was really good with firearms and he sent me here. I'm liking the content I see so far. Would love to see some videos on the gear you run and why. Keep up the good work I look forward to more
Heard a lot about you over the last few days! Thank you for the support! We appreciate it
Try the Triple Nickel: FBI QIT Target. 5 Yards, 5 targets, under 5 seconds. Draw and fire two rounds to each target with one mandatory reload.
Both shooters failed the qualification. Each string is shot twice and the combined time has to meet or be less than the time listed. You were shooting it once and showing your times. For example, the first string where you draw and fire one round at 7yds, the two combined runs have to be at or less than 3.3sec or an average of 1.65sec per string. Any string that the shooter fails to meet the time standard is an automatic fail of the whole qualification.
Glad you like the system.
I like this drill. I will have to give it a try.
Let me know if you want me to email you the spreadsheet I created
Shot on these targets with Bear yesterday, putting various round types at varying distances and they held up great. Love how easy the mounting system is, gone are the days of breaking chains. Also great that you can change the cant of the target so that you can direct your spall and avoid potential ricochets. Would 100% buy a set for myself.
I apologize for the poor quality of this video; I had some issues uploading this video in my editing software. I wanted to still publish this video instead of refilming it because there is still VERY good information on this low round count pistol drill, unfortunately it will not be full screen. Apologies again!
What if you're outnumbered or being flanked?
This situation resembles more of a close/near ambush scenario. Being outnumbered or flanked would be a completely different situation.
When are we going shooting..?
Whenever you want to haha. Just hit me up
