What about using a sinker to hold it down ?
Awesome video! hey can you make a video for glen cove? I’m trying to drop my kayak in somewhere around there I’m looking to try and black fish. C map has so much clutter and stuff it’s hard to navigate on an iPhone thanks!
HEY! I live on Long Island and I feel IGNORED! LOL No boat or Kayak, so If you know of some places where surf casting Tog could be decent... I...WE would appreciate a heads up! Thanks for letting us know of a resource that is quite helpful for a calculating Dinner Provider!
🤘🏼🙏❤️🩹🙏🤘🏼
Well deserved Nino. You always run a hell of a crew with a vessel that's dialed in anywhere it's trailered. Good work Holten 💪💪. -Jake Adair
I lost a black fish at the boat that size over 30 “ in Clinton ct In 2012 it was my first keeper size fish so I was saying man these fish fight hard!!! We thought it was a fish of a life time.
Perfect timing, I’m fishing out of Mattituck inlet, to the east of Hortons point, I have no trouble finding the wrecks that show on Navionics, but when it comes to the rocks, they just don’t show up on my Simrad. Could they be covered up with sand ? Very frustrating any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I’m gonna try this tonight thanks! Looks great.
Isn’t that an Alberto knot? Instead of making the initial loop with the leader line you instead make the starter loop with the main line.
Any thoughts on best tides for certain spots or what side of the structure?
Specific sides of the structure is the game and I'll leave that up to you guys to experiment with. As for tides, I like the tail ends of high and low and dead slack.
thank you so much man
You're welcome! Get out there and find some new stuff too. Most of these are well know community holes but you can use the info to find something new! Let me know how ya do! Have fun and save some for the rest of us 😀
great video. I love the fact you share. I have been fishing this area for over 50 years. Good on you!
Thanks Steve!
What good are all the conservation rules when the commercial guys wipe out the spots before the recreational season starts? Politics!
Spot burn mode activated! 😂 Good info I use the Navionics app with subscription as well. I haven't quite figured out how to sync it to the fish finder yet though so I have to program coordinates manually.
is this a paid subscription for Navioncis?
General question: do the bigger fish prefer a certain depth in the early and late season?
Great question. My personal opinion, No. I think there are big fish that live shallow and deep all season long. I'm not an expert on Tog migration, but I know there were big fish caught this past weekend in 8 feet of water and 130 feet of water. It's wherever they feel secure and have food. Thanks for watching!
@@nextdriftfishing Super helpful, thanks very much!
Southshore reefs we aren’t as lucky…I manage but if you could look into my reefs and suggest some areas to check out, we would all appreciate it
Man, been waiting all season for the 10th....blew my lower unit up on the 6th and haven't got it back yet 😢. Thx for the new video, I got the itch.
Oh man that stinks! I've been there! Too many times, unfortunately. Good luck getting out there!
Do you aim to be right over the rocky area or right off the edge of it where the contour ends?
Great question. It all depends on the spot. Usually I look for the biggest individual boulders near the main piece of structure. Sometimes the top of the spot gets blown out by the tide so I try to focus on the areas that give the fish a place to tuck out of the current, then feed. Excellent question
Used your advice and limited out today. Plus a PB 6.5lb. Thanks again!
@Fishingandkicking that's awesome!!!! Very nice! Send me some pictures. My email is in the description!
The first spot you mentioned, by Ledge Light, looked like a boat parking lot on Sunday. Everyone was out ‘togging this weekend!
My son and I were out yesterday, we had fish over 17 inches, lots of shorts that were fat. My son caught one 20 inch and one 22.We even got mugged by a small cc that dropped right on my anchor, when he came to we could shake hands, I look at the guy and said really, get out of my spot and off my anchor, I hate when you establish a bite and other boats try to mug you, they never learn, we were east of New Haven, also there were big schools of shad but nothing on them. Love the info. Jay
Evening man!! ❤
What's the good word man?! Thanks for watching!
@@nextdriftfishing Good ta see ya Saturday! Sad day when we pull the boat!! Probably fish 1-2 more times on other friends boats. But mostly making the switch to Hunting Season. I added this video in the description of my Black Fish Video posting tomorrow.
It was good to see you too bud. Good luck in the woods!
Nice catch
I picked 1/2 a bucket of Asians today. Im ready for tomorrow!
Done i always wish i catch a fluke
In the late season, what depths are you finding them in? I keep checking my summer spots at 60+ ft
Hahahaha holy shit this is the funniest tuna crew 😂😂😂😂
Quality fish, nice job. Curious why you would grab them in the gills if you were planning to release them?
Gill plate and Boca not gills. It swam away as shown in the video
Awesome video grate looking boat Ill be up that way for a few days this coming week mainly Tog fishing but you never know what's going to blow up when your out there. Was wondering if you would share what depth water you were fishing trying to put a game plan together for my trip would love to find a couple of big Flattys. Thanks for another great video.
Very cool! what body of water are you fluking?
Thank you. This area was just to the east of Montauk point.
Was that a nexus rod? Also, do you use the same fluking rigs and techniques in the backbays? I don’t seem to have much luck there with the bucktail and teaser.
I do well in the bay with bucktail and teasers during the first half of the season. Once the waters heat up, you need to fish deeper.
I found your videos this year and have been binge-watching them as I leave out of New London and I'm new to fluke. Absolutely love the content/info. This was the inside? I'm going looking tomorrow.
Hey Nick! Glad you found us! Thanks a lot for watching. I'll give you a clue, I took the picture of the boat passing the point in the thumbnail, looking at it from the east. 😉
Dang it, I'm so new to venturing out past pine island. I'll have to phone a friend. Maybe Waddington will know. Thx brother
Newport? Shizzz looks like I'm fishing scup tomorrow. Hahahahah 😆
@@nextdriftfishingnot me trying to scan the video for light houses and cloud patterns to locate the spot lol
Kathy, did you fish New Jersey
@georgeniebergall7074 Kathy?
@@nextdriftfishing I’m sorry I talked to the phone and sometimes the television is on while I’m talking I’m disabled so it’s hard for me anyway you did a great job the flute fantastic
Ahhhh got ya. Lol Thanks a lot bud
Great job JT those were nice fish
Thanks brother
Coast to coast
Y'all are too greedy with the fishing rod. The person reeling in a fish should pass off the rod before they get tired. That way there's always adequate pressure on the fish. Getting a drink in the middle of reeling in a fish would never happen on my boat. I hate TH-cam and all of its censorship!
You guys are the biggest googans on TH-cam.
Thanks for watching!
What Rod were you using to land the over Size Tuna?
Shimano Stella 14000
@@nextdriftfishingyes the reel is a Stella. But what Rod were you using?
I'm sorry. I read someone else's question about the reel and responded on your question. This rod is a shimano grappler type c.
Hy how I can transfer my tracks to another ipad please thank you
How do you preview maps on your computer? I have a Navionics subscription and I used to be able to view maps, measure, etc. on the computer (Windows), but I can no longer do so.
Good job.. thanks❤
I'm going out Saturday the 14th for my birthday. I'm new to fluke, first season. Can you still find some in Niantic Bay or is it a waist of time
Do you use spering with the gulp for fluke?
We don't, but you certainly can do that.
I enjoyed this conversation. Thanks for taking the time. We were out that same day with the same results
Outgunned 500-600 would have stripped you
This app is free?
Not anymore
Always wanted a bass boat, got a chance but the wife forced me to get a lund pro-v with the windshield, was bummed out but I’m glad I listened to her I’m in love with it ,you got a nice boat also hoped you enjoyed it as well
Free to install, but then you need to pay fifty dollars a year to have access to any charts.
That's correct. Check out our newest video using a different tool.

Attach an apple AirTag to the tail?
If that works for you!
I’ve often wondered about that last area you pointed out. Seems like it’s probably very turbulent over there. Might have to check it out on a calm day.
