Is this the original music? Doesn't really sound like a Baillie score? Too obvious. Maybe it was silent? Would be nice to know.

This copy of it looks terrible. Bruce asked me himself to request that it be taken down years ago. I hope his family will take it down & be able to replace it with a great looking version. I was fortunate enough to be able to watch it at PFA at UC Berkeley projected on an absolutely pristine, breathtaking 16mm film print! One of the most beautiful & moving motion pictures I have ever experienced! Totally exhilarating!!

Hi friends - this is an older transfer of the film to video - the 16mm restoration of the film was completed and a high quality digital master is in progress... nevertheless, it's such an incredible and sensitive film, one of my favorites of Bruce's.

Wow! Another Remarkable Cinematic Gem From The Great Master, Bruce Baillie! This poetic, lyrical motion picture is beautiful, humanist, touching, lovely, & exquisitely delicate & tender. Displays a tender appreciation of the young girl & nature. Graceful camerawork & super-impositions that flow & move gorgeously. What a sweet, lovely cinematic experience.

From film catalog 2000, Canyon Cinema Co-op, an excerpt from friend-poet-fisherman, Paul Tulley: "Did she sit under the apple tree with anyone else? That's always been the question for a P-38 pilot. Fastest chair in the air ... " "P-38, nothing like it, before or since, and now there's one staked down in the desert, where lizards watch it and no bands play." - Paul Tulley
