I'm 72, class of 66, Neleen Hipler's class. Neleen taught at Trinity for several years. I remember walking out of Easter Services in about 1956 and looking up at the big cross on the front of the building. I remember when the brick 2 story class rooms were built. Most of all I remember Miss Olsen our principal. She was a young Christian missionary in China when WW2 broke out. Only she and God knew what she saw and endured. Her office was always filled with the Spirit of God and she selected the teachers for her little school so carefully. My second grade teacher was Dorothy Martin. I attended her wedding to Don Laursen. She taught 2nd grade for numerous decades. For 40 years I stopped by her house. Mrs Gross was 3rd grade, what a special loving lady. Miss Berg taught 4th grade. She was an energetic little white haired lady of the old school. Mrs Mitby taught 5 grade. Words cannot express the love and gratitude I have for her. Mrs. Crump taught geography and history. She was the only teacher I had growing up that kept my attention through every entire class. Warren and Diane Willis teamed up for 6th grade. Warren and Diane left Trinity in 1966 and spent 11 years at Berkeley with Campus Crusade for Christ then travelled the world for Jesus. Diane was an angel that God sent to earth. Thank you Diane. It was Warren on our first day of school that presented the conversion steps you can find in the back of the old Gideon's pocket Bible. I accepted Jesus and was born again. Printed words cannot convey the experience of being born again and I had a new friend, my life long companion, the Holy Ghost. If my grammar is anywhere close to right it's thanks to Mabel Fransen armed with her 3' wooden pointer. I love you and I am forever grateful. In the 8th grade it was my friends Miss Hansen and Miss Wright. Miss Wright married and became Mrs. Bott. After Trinity, Hawthorne High School was a breeze. I love them, miss them, and I am greatful for my years at Trinity Lutheran. When I leave this earth I'll probably get this back with red marks all over it.
