When I plan on cropping my images like this I make sure I have my rule of thirds grid turned on. Then I only use the middle three sections to compose. Works out for me. Don’t have to use tape that way.

It’s also hard to vlog with kids running around and keeping an eye on them, the simpler the better when it comes to vlogging that’s for sure. I’ve been using my iPhone 15 pro as it’s in my pocket and shoot in apple log. Been having great fun

i really enjoyed watching the video, thanks for sharing. I become father just three months ago and trying to learn as much as possible. Two questions though, of I may. 1) do you edit and add the presets to the jpeg or on raw? I see at 7:21 it is exporting jpegs. 2) do you store your photo both on apple photo AND lightroom cloud storage? If so, doesn't that create duplicates? Interested in knowing more about your storage strategy, if cloud/HHD/NAS etc. Thanks

Hey!! I love your videos, they have been super helpful to me! One thing I love about old family videos is the date of the video in the corner with the iconic font! What do you think the best way to add that to videos is? Especially if you have a string of clips from different dates.

What’s the benefit of the external hard drive vs storing your videos in the cloud? Are you worried about the drive getting corrupted?

Just watched your videos on the Camp Snap and Paper Shoot. Which one would you recommend for someone that just wants to capture some more vintage-style photos every once in awhile? I hear the Paper Shoot is better but I just love the form factor of the Camp Snap that much more.

Thanks for the video I have OP3 and I'm considering OA4 and your new insta360 go 3s. My use case is really similar than yours, so very interested which one you pick more:OA4 and Go3s. My clips are really short typically <1min and I loved my broken Go2 but always wanted a bit better dinamic range an overall quality (i dont edit too much i mainly edit in the phone with insta app and dji mimo). The other question for me is if what you lose in convenience worth the better quality footage in OA4 or if there is not a big difference in footage (I don't use slow motion frequently I am mainly interested in normal 4k quality) and go3s is better because of convenience for a family man as you. Please i don't ask which is better I ask which one you choose for your use case more frequently Thanks in advance and thanks for your work

well I just use pano sometimes in dark churches or so, handheld pano in decent quality where I cant put a tripod. fine by me

I think action cameras are missing the mark in terms of marketing and you have nailed it here. My family bought me a GoPro hero 12 for my birthday earlier this year and I don’t use it for action (not my thing). Instead, I use it to film family outings and picnics and things like that and it’s perfect. Just throw it in the bag and not worry about it and just pull out and grab some great footage of me and my love ones. I’m actually thinking of picking up a second action camera and this might be the one, I’m kind of torn between this and the ace pro because the only thing I don’t love about the GoPro is that it looks amazing in good light but when the light starts to fall, it looks awful. How is this camera in low light and indoors? PS: I’m also considering the Osmo pocket 3, the low light on that looks like it’s amazing.

Really nice vid. These kind of content was missing on yt. Making shorter clips is also my preffered way of editing. I also like to put those clip on yt for easy share to the rest of family.

Had the xt30, loved that camera it was just to small for my hands. Get the 23mm f2. Dope combo

Excellent choice of camera. I don’t know if you already own a printer or not. If you don’t have one, I recommend getting a photo printer before picking up another lens. It’s been so nice being able to print out our family photos on demand.

I thought you were going to say the XT-50! 40 MP w/film sim dial! I waited 5 months and just received the X100VI. Interchangeable lenses seem tempting to me, but my full frame Sony will take care of that. Enjoy your new camera!

I bought the pocket 3 as a camera for stills photography. So far I’ve been very impressed with the results. However, the raw files I struggle with. Can’t seem to get pictures anywhere near as good as the sooc jpegs. But I have found that the jpegs stand up really well to editing, especially in Snapseed. I have zero complaints, even when viewed on my 65” 4K tv. Aspect ratios are pretty subjective. Luckily I’m ok with 16:9.

I always have this one in my pocket. It may not be my favorite, but I always have it on me.
