No one does good immediatly didn't sound right. what about the apostles, missionaries, Jesus himself? he is God but is also man. Then when reading my Bible later I read psalm 14 and a couple verses sounded familiar, this song. But it is not meant to apply to all humanity it is talking specifically about that time period and more specifically nonbelievers, sinners, fools, but the way this song is written it sounds like its applying it to all people which botherd me.

My sister gave me a photocopy of the 1611 Gutenberg Bible . And my question is on the88 books, profitable ? Is there changes in the Bible since 320 AD?
Good questions David. I’m not sure what the 88 books would be. The Protestant canon is 66 books and Roman Catholicism adds an additional 7 for a total of 73. Of the 66 books, we would affirm Paul’s statement in 2 Timothy 3:16 that All scripture is profitable. As for changes since 320, keep in mind that the Bible was hand copied through to the printing press and as such there might be minor variations, especially in a regional sense, but no real changes. Most of those variations are things like writing the word “your” in place of the word “our” - a difference of a single letter in Greek.

I like that you are discussing this, and perhaps I'm addressing more of the political perspective, but as a libertarian, can I please refine what libertarianism means? It is simply that we should not use force against peaceful people, particularly through the state. Libertarians call this idea the "non-aggression principle". It is a claim against use of violence. That's it. It doesn't mean that you support or advocate any behavior, and it is not intended to be a full world philosophy, but only to address that one thing. There are other philosophies, such as your religion, to address those other area. I reject the mis-definition of "fiscally conservative and socially liberal", since you could absolutely be personally conservative and still be in line with libertarianism. It does not mean moral relativism, as many seem to think. You can absolutely have your ideas on things such as proper moral behavior and you can evangelize for them. There is a discussion to be had around whether forced personal decisions can be considered decisions rooted in morality. Also, I will note that Christ himself, was a victim of those that used the violence that is the state, against a peaceful person.
Thanks for your thoughtful remarks Chris. True Christianity lacks any coercive force. We cannot make you a believer in the redemptive work of Christ at gunpoint. That would vitiate our faith by eliminating God's grace. It would also create a class of Christian with little to no conviction of the rightness of their acts. On the other hand, we wholeheartedly believe that the moral values of our conviction do far more than prepare us for heaven and that following those practices will bring benefit to life. I hope you know the Savior and that His work makes your life Abundant.
