But I see some comments believing that Roman is somehow ‘free’. I don’t know about that. Can we take a second to acknowledge that Tom in less then a minute perfectly pitched himself to matson? 1. I take and follow all orders. 2. I know where my place is and not to question it. 3. I get the most revenue possible and don’t mind cutting throats…. Like Tom knew exactly what to be strong in and what to make himself look weak on so that he could show he follows orders while still playing the part of a ceo. Like for anyone that hasn’t led a job interview that’s honestly what you’re looking for most of the time. You want someone to show their strengths but also to not show so much strength that they would try to stab you in the back if given the opportunity. It’s a weird game to play and Tom fucking killed it.

For one thing I like how Tom isn’t being like overly vindictive to anyone. I forget that first guy but the one who was guna be on Ken’s side he just dismissed him vs cutting him apart publicly. While Frank and Carl are literally talking about how they should have killed him and Tom knows this so he’s like yeah they can go but Carolina Greg Gerri all get to stay. While also with Greg he obviously fucks with him but he’s got him and I find that pretty wholesome lmao. I know for a fact if any of the actual Roy siblings got it they would have eviscerated and embarrassed everyone.

Shivs eyes practically go black by the end of this scene. Perfect acting and portrayl of narcissism. None of the kids had much of a chance.

If you were waiting for any kind of happy ending to Succession, that was it. Tom throwing Greg a lifeline was the closest thing to a meaningful happy ending.

I’m rewatching the show for the second time and currently I’m on series 4 episode 6, it’s been very interesting watching Tom change and get serious. You can see in the episodes leading up, that Tom and his Greglet are putting themselves in pole position

Whether people want to give her credit or not, Siobhan's sticking around to watch the handover took some backbone. She may have wanted Kendall to sign off on the sale, but Roman signed off as he too wanted to be done with Waystar|RoyCo. His behavior at the board vote; the way that he told Shiv to go into that room and just vote; and then backing Shiv when she told them she is not going to vote to maintain the company. I thought that Logan was flying to Sweden in an attempt to carve ATN out of the sale, but I don't think that Matsson would have bought Waystar without ATN. If Logan knew that Shiv was pregnant, he might not have gotten on that plane.

Tom didn’t do anything anyone didn’t deserve. If you think about it, he always tried to be honest with his wife who was the whole reason he was even in the conversation. He was the most loyal the entire time, the way he conducted himself after emerging victorious said it all. True power is mercy. He forgave and chose NOT to humiliate Greg and his wife. The people he truly loved.

Tom didn’t do anything anyone didn’t deserve. He handled this with more grace than anyone could’ve of predicted

I'm sure this has been pointed out, but Mencken in office would probably affect Shiv's abortion rights given he is a conservative. Adds a layer to her desperation in that scene, and to her decision to get back in with Tom in the finale. Baby's gonna need a father, if it can't be aborted.

This show tries so hard to push the anti-Right narrative, straw-men and all. Thankfully, the forced presentation of this fantasy (complete with overbearingly sad music and overly long faces on everyone) is readily apparent to the viewer. Subtlety would have worked better.
