I bought a fake Marshall Emberton II and compared it with the original.
I have recently bought a fake Marshall Emberton II off eBay. The seller was claiming it to be refurbished, however I have bought the original, comparing it - so you don't have to fall into the same trap!

A "close-out" store near me is selling this for $30. I think that pretty much guarantees it's a fake.

I just met up with someone who was selling one on fb marketplace and I’m glad I didn’t get it. Pretty sure it was a fake. The app didn’t connect and the sound sounded barely better than my iPhone.

Both seem fake to me Original emberton has “emberton” logo imprinted deep and not raised up as seen in both samples

Good comparison! And helpful! But, at no time did you point to or label which was fake and which was real! The textures are completely different so it would have helped! When comparing the textures you said the real one was smooth but the fake was sticky!! You can't see sticky!!! Overall it was good but you were left to assume which was which ! We all know what that does!!??

I bought a cheap fake from Thailand. Sounds great, looks great... but I don't want to compare to the real one that's 5x the price. I'm sure the real one is much better when the sound is compared up close.

So basically, you can check just by using the mobile application, right? If it's connecting then it's real?
I wouldn't 100% rely on that because the fake manufacturers will eventually find a way to spoof the bluetooth ids or whatever, but that would be my first quick test!

我買到假貨了，價格跟原價插不多，我買willen 和 emerton2，在台灣蝦皮買的，但可能從大陸寄過來，willem 正版官網賣3880，我買3100，emberton2 正版官網賣6490，我買5800元。 willen 連不到官網，也不能用stack模式，按鍵也要按很多次才有反應，橡膠套有一邊，沒有完整包覆，外箱還有防偽貼紙。我猜想中國盜版工廠，會和正版商品零件拆換，冒充正版。 另一台emberton2 就能連到官網，其他外貌也很像真的，我還要去正版商店看一下有甚麼不同，紙箱就和正版的 不同的樣子，看其他部影片查的

The best judgement you can do is to teardown that fake emberton, once you open it you'll be amazed with the amp worth a penny😂 the cheap amp is just beneath the power button.

At 0:03, the lower side unit seems fake.
I just returned 2 sets of fake Marshall Major IV headsets. They looked very nice, operated correctly and felt top notch but once the sound was turned on...yuck!. The proof is always in the pudding.

which box is real at 0:24, also which silica gel is real at 1:24?
At 0:24 the box to the right. The original box (sold in Germany) does not have any "genuine" sticker in Chinese letters. And for 1:24 the silica pack on the right is the one from the original box, I wouldn't use this as a benchmark to verify if its legit though ;)

does it by any chance work in stack mode?
In order to support stack mode you have to have both two original devices because they need to be paired in the Marshall App
@@i-review-things yeah, I just saw some aliexpress sellers that explicitly claim they cannot be paired with the app so stack mode obviously doesnt work
I have a genuine one from Marshall themselves and it also makes a sound when switching tracks and pausing.
That's mighty strange, I have an EU model with the latest firmware from the app. And I am fairly happy it does not make any sounds switching tracks :))
@I review things Very strange indeed. If you have a look at Flossy Carter's review of the original Marshall Emberton, his one also makes a sound when switching tracks and pausing. I very much doubt he bought fakes - Marshall likely sent him the Emberton to review.
Older models have sound when switching tracks, on play/pause and when maxing the volume, they also have better clicking main button and louder on/off sound. I have two, "first generation" with silver grill and white logo and black and brass color I bought a month ago. Marshall changed all that for some reason, probably for "quieter" experience, but less clickable button was the first thing I noticed and it still bothers me.

That might be because it is direct from the factory and not authorized by marshall. I do have the same as you it is a genuine marshall and straight from the factory but they said it is not authorized by marshall itself

By comparing it to the original device from a large media store & validating photos with the Emberton Support 😋
Thanks a lot because of this I return my fake one to the seller I already buy my original one to the official store which is 50% much expensive. The fake one sounds cheap and no bass which is quite dissapointing.
