    I have the old Dunlop Aerogel 500 Tour and I found it to be a good racket (serves, forehands) but it's stiffness became an issue, so I prefer the Yonex Ezone 100 as it's more comfortable and a little more consistent with the backhands.

    I'm just stunned that you gave such low "feel" marks to the Prince sticks when they score so highly with other reviewers; do you just prefer stiff sticks like the Babolats?

    • @mattiastennis
      @mattiastennis 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for commenting though I am a bit puzzled ? I explained clearly why I did not like the 'feel' of this specific line of Prince. Its such an odd feel compared to anything else I have played with honestly. It is not just foreign but has no plush feel or pocketing or power on it. What does it give me? Nothing but some odd muteness This is just the textreme tour 2022 and its possible that when I pick up the new Phantoms they will play better. I am not married to any brand and nor should anyone really and the point of my series here is to find my Ultimate Racquet and then others can take whatever they can of all this. Also not every other reviewer likes the textremes and some reviewers do not even touch Prince racquets at all. And what reviewers are you specifically talking about? The ones on TW websites who are mostly low intermediate level ? Or actual Ytubers? Some reviewers will be different, hence why some of us do not all play with the same racquets! My coach for eks - Use Wilson Blade 98s but disliked the textreme tours more than I did. I at least tried to give them a fair trial and even though the 100 was my pick its still inferior. Wilson Blade is way superior to textremes but maybe Prince can win out with the Phantoms. 'do you just prefer stiff sticks like the Babolats?' I do like Babolat frames but I dont like all stiff frames. I am not particularly fond of the Radicals which is a stiff frame. I have used Babolats before the Pure Drive+ back when I was into extended frames and never found it stiff whatsoever. As for Babolat if you dont suffer any pain or injury from them, they and particularly Pure Strikes are great racquets. I even wonder sometimes what 'stiffness' even is anymore or how it can really be measured. Until it can be meaningfully measured and with precision, its best just to go off how you feel / the absence of pain / flex or not?

    • @patricioab
      @patricioab 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@mattiastennishello! Stiffness can be mesure with Babolat rdc machines. But the thing is much more complex because each frame vibrate in different ways and there are lots of technologies to eliminate them...

    Great one handed backhand! Lot of pace on that. I’m a fan of the old school Prince frames. The Prince Graphite 110 was a legend among players racquets played by Agassi, Chang, and Sabatini among others and was one of the few oversize frames that was really made for pro tour players. As Prince’s invention, Prince really pushed the 110 and 125 oversize frames more than the 85 and 90 midsize frames that other companies marketed to differentiate themselves. Really great and under appreciated frames today but legendary in the 80’s and 90’s.

      Thanks for taking the time to make the comment and the kind backhand remark. My backhand is ok, could be a lot better. Blake has a solid consistent backhand. Did not Agassi play with 107 also? I recall seeing pictures of him with both 107 mostly and 110? Prince has always dominated in the oversize market and I am looking forward to testing out the new Phantoms as I have heard a lot of good things about them. You are right to say they are underappreciated and nearly non-existent at Pro shops. I have to literally order them online if I was to use one. And finally after a few days, the ball start losing pressure, now use the force racket to get the extra depth on the ball. And the manufacturer will know you made the right choice.

    hello from America and I really enjoyed this video. I am always searching for the one special racket for me. These types of videos really help narrow the field. I have yet to play with Dunlop but really want to try especially the FX. I have an older Head Extreme MP and I have yet to demo even a newer racket that gives me the control, spin and feel. Local shop is limited on some models (no Dunlop). I like the idea of Dunlop because it seems they are budget friendly but still good quality. Thanks for the time you put in here and you and your partners play great tennis. If I may suggest, maybe keep your written portions up longer to read so the video doesn’t have to paused or rewound. Keep making great videos. I really like informative on the older rackets you included because as a budget minded racket hunter, older rackets are still valid. Thanks!!

      Thanks for taking the time to comment and leave feedback. Good to hear that you liked this video and it is useful in your search. Regarding the written portions I will just leave them up there for twice as long, and the only reason why they dont stay up long is partly because I thought viewers wanted to see more action and not to distort the view of hitting with the writing. I am also used to reading things quickly. In your case Tennis Warehouse .c om website is your friend. They have a demo program which when I just perused through has the full range of Dunlops(some I cannot for now even get!) so if your local store does not have them go through TW. Dunlop is WAY cheaper for you also and while Dunlop can be a budget option I dont think $379 is 'budget' especially if as a player you want to have 3 racquets.. Regarding Racquets try both FX 500 and FX 500 Tour. Also I think you should look into Dunlop CX400 Tour or if your after spin try SX range but they arent great feeling racquets. Dunlop is mostly different to Head and its only crossover is CX range to Prestiges as I mentioned and maybe Pro Tour 2.0s without mentioning 'Pro Stock' moulds which are not obviously budget Yes, more videos to come and you will again see some 'before 2024' racquets. Please pass on this video and the channel to others you know. The more subscribers and views helps greatly

      I found a CX 200 oversized on ebay at a really good price. It is the 2022 model. I really liked it’s control. I like the light feel, easy swing and easy on arm. It seem to lack some power while playing against my daughter (high schooler) who just got a new Wilson Shift which is a great racket. I am going to experiment with some lead in hoop and handle (mine has a trapdoor in handle). I think this will be a “good for now” racket. It doesn’t feel oversized at all. If the new ones are even better then I know they are a great racket. I hear your partner in the video say something about “the blue one”. Not critiquing your game at all, but I just notice that you have an odd hang drag of the racquet starting the serve swing motion. It makes me uncomfortable. Is that a strategy, or you just always had that off rhythm clitch?

      Critique is fine(whether either of us being comfortable or not is irrelevant here though) but can you elaborate on this further? Once I am over this injury I will be reconstructing my serve as I am aware there is some problems. However if you mean the start that is just something I have always done. Middle of the way through or at the back there is some problems but please be more specific

      @@mattiastennis I was being a little goofy with the "uncomfortable" sass. I just thought you held your racket hanging down a long time while you toss and start your trophy and behind your head drop and backscratch kinda late for a smooth fluid motion before contact. Perhaps sort of rushed because you didn't bring the back swing up earlier. It may very well work just fine for you, but for me it seems like timing with your knee bend, transitioning momentum and power could be slightly disrupted. I could be totally wrong, but I wouldn't teach your form for consistency. However, it may be a good tactic to possibly throw your opponent off a little in his anticipation. Idk if I'm describing it right, and it really shouldn't matter if you have success with it. I don't believe there's any one absolute proper way to execute any stroke, and the service is unique in some ways to each individual. On another note, I love the one hand backhand and the fact that you don't scream and grunt every time you hit the ball like so many are starting to do these days.

      @@arthurevans2029 'On another note, I love the one hand backhand and the fact that you don't scream and grunt every time you hit the ball like so many are starting to do these days.' Thanks for the kind words on the backhand. It is the part of my game that needs the most work and something I have been working on for a long time. Long long way to go though. As for grunting/screaming/yelling out I have watched live matches where it becomes quite stupid and annoying. There is one thing to exhale the pressure or putting everything into the shot and then there is blatant attention seeking/obstructing the opponent. I think it should be natural and not forced. There is some very obvious examples on the pro tour who are forced. Re- Serve: The whole serving motion as well as the in-part mechanics is something I will be working on. The way it is in the video is a motion I have had for some time and there is even a few pros out there who are somewhat similar to this. 'but I wouldn't teach your form for consistency. ' I didnt expect anyone taking my form of serving for any pedagogical purpose. Infact most players from the national tour to semi pro to top pros anyone learning to intermediate should not be copying. In your next statement you somewhat mention this though so.. Do you have a serving video of your own to examine?

      @@mattiastennis I agree on the grunting. It shouldn't be an intentional constant part of your game. I believe many coaches have taken to training as if it gives you more power or concentration or some other nonsense. It's fine if you're fatigue and stretching for a 'get' brings out an extra oomph to dig deeper and reach further, but Monica Seles started a horrible strategy that has taken on a life of it's own. Sharapova to W sisters to Nadal etc... Now it's way too common and it ruins the spectator enjoyment for me and many alike. My serve hasn't been recorded since about 1989. I didn't pick up a racquet from about '93-'12. I went hiatus again until 2018. My father died in '19, and I did play again until a couple months ago. You understand tennis is not like riding a bike. I have to relearn my form and timing and muscle memory all over again every time I start up again. So no, you can't get anything from my serve and you can't pick it apart either 😄 P.S. I was merely a basketball player who loved tennis and played USTA and a little in highschool, along with 5 other sports. I was a good all-around athlete but never completely committed to anything. My dad coached tennis or else I might have never played. Then I joined the Marine Corps and life took over all my hobbies. I am always noticing certain things about fundamentals and techniques, so I was compelled to comment. However, as I said before, there is no one absolute proper way to do anything. If you have success with your methods, that's what matters.

      @@arthurevans2029 Sad to hear about your father but he lives on within you and your family no doubt. Its good your back in tennis again. I never followed basketball however if you had a good athletic basis you should be doing something. ''I agree on the grunting. It shouldn't be an intentional constant part of your game. I believe many coaches have taken to training as if it gives you more power or concentration or some other nonsense.'' Well there is 'coaches' out there that think there is a dominant eye that is worth $7500 per hour to inform you of so who knows what goes for 'coaching' anymore. Honestly there should be a authoritative manual on tennis mechanics, teach players no bull$hit and then let them develop with correct fundamentals and be a mirror to correct and advance them. It should be about the player though this is something tournament directors will also have to learn(instead of having inadequate balls, 30 different balls on tour and stupid scheduling and poor prizemoney). Of course there should be INTENSITY in what you do at the right time and if a sound(that isnt stupidly loud or annoying or swearing) is produced from that then thats just part of things similar to doing a big lift in the gym. Obviously not every hit on the court is full power or even ½ power at times. Ja, a few coaches though next to none I usually come across with, have advocated grunts as 'high energy' or 'player expressing themselves' which is nonsensical. Jannik Sinner does not grunt hard and he is top player out there. Federer didnt make much noise nor does Novak make excessive noise all the time. This being all said I dont have a total problem with it. In some ways its great to hear Zapata Miralles or Dominic Thiem or Nadal go full at it, but when the likes of Sonego and even at times Alcaraz go overboard with it, it becomes a bit much. ' Monica Seles' a bit before my time but I remember from documentaries as a kid what happened. I will not say anything bad about Monica. She suffered enough to that lunatic in 1993 who never stood a day in jail and the failed 'german' 'justice' system protected, to which many could discuss of how intentionally failed and twisted is. There is people who exposed deathjab bigPharma(Reiner Fuellmich high level lawyer part of corona investigation group) sitting in jail in 'germany'(on fabricated and very interestingly timed charges) along with old spiritual groups banned and home schoolers persecuted yet crime and foreign destruction of Indigenous Germanisch populace and culture is endorsed and collusionist 'politicians' encouraged..Of course 'U'SA (does not look very united or even functional though I cannot speak from experience) is not much different and very much integral to this('eu' serves Global Corporatist interests). Nonetheless Monica despite her grunts without what happened in 93 would have been the greatest female player of all time(period). She was robbed that and was never the same .Now female(I wonder how long that distinction will remain intact?) tennis is a joke(people still thinking Radacanu is a 'top player' just because of 'media') and the fact they dont even play 5 sets or have any one handers any more is absurd. It was really Sharapova that enabled loud screaming and Williams screaching antics which solidified this. ' So no, you can't get anything from my serve and you can't pick it apart either' From the way you were commenting I thought you were going to demonstrate some big serves ' I have to relearn my form and timing and muscle memory all over again every time I start up again' I would say just return to hitting and applying advice from good instructional videos like Tomaz at Feel Tennis Instruction and Nikola's channel. Nothing is a quick process and you have to have a clear goal.

The 2 Extreme Tour videos are the best ones I have made yet(I have quite a few coming in the next 2 months) and I have continued playing with it since. 'Pity they don't restring more often' This is a big problem and I recommend you either find a local or state-local tennis shop or friend that will let you have the racquet for 1-2 weeks where you have it re-strung. String it with Kirschbaum or Head string you like around '48-50 pounds' / 21,7-22.7kg 4 or 6 months is not good enough as your obviously paying for this. • @mattiastennis

      It was illustrated because these were close calls 2 which were very questionable and ALL of them went against me and the outcome of the set and the match could have been very different had even 1 or 2 went my way. Its why there should be umpires in every round not just the final of Tier 1. That said this match was not that bad, I had one match(luckily in consolation so who cares but it all sadly counts for UTR) where the opponent was making horrible calls. The 'officials' dont do much and you can get defaulted for hitting a ball against a fence yet 2 or 3 cheating calls barely gets a warning.. And sadly I have witnessed worse than this for adults and its unspeakable what goes on in junior 'events'. Makes one not even want to enter and can see why people dont bother I find its best whenever in doubt to call the official over asap. Again would not have to do this with umpires and the money we pay one would think there was more officiating..

    Good video and analysis. I've been testing a lot of rackets lately and I'd love to do it with this one, especially after having seen a lot of reviews of both this Auxetic model and the previous Graphene 360+. Without a doubt, according to the specifications of the rackets that I like, I would add about 4 grams of lead to the 3 and 9, and possibly about 2 more to the 12 to substantially increase the swingweight and generate more weight on the ball, Without a doubt, it seems to be a great platform racket and it seems to be a very good option to compete against the Babolal Pure Aero 98 with greater comfort and feel. Greetings

    • @mattiastennis
      @mattiastennis ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. There is definitely a difference to the previous model and the 2022 Extreme Auxetics are the best Extremes to date. 3 and 9 weights are NEEDED for the Tour. One could also place 4 to 5 grams in the handle but this depends if headlightness is desired. I think the Tour should be 10 grams heavier at the least but its not the kind of racquet to be loading up as its made to be quick, easy and flicky to use. Certainly agreed that it is a great platform racquet and while it does compete in spin-ness to the Aero 98 apart from this the 2 are not that comparable. But you are right that it provides greater feel. The difference between Extreme Tour of current to the Aero 98s is that Aeros are all about control through spin and easy-scalable power. Babolat have always been about power and once Rafa came around more aerodynamic-like moulds. Head was always about Quality Feel, variance in Control and with the Auxetic one reaps the benefit of some interesting applied materials science. Both of them hold the similarity only in outcome and because of this thankfully Head provides more than just a 'spin-frame'.

      Thanks Ben! Yes good recovery is essential and while this session wouldnt be described the toughest(though it was hard) I find when doing multiple sessions per week what is key is: Maintaining Hydration and Electrolytes, having high energy and stamina and post-session stretching. From what I have observed from those on the circuit, solid juniors and in general even quality open-tier players is that they always do stretching, foam rolls, static bike rides after or easy jogs and even swimming which as one chiropractor explained to me is a good non-intensive dynamic warmdown. You basically dont want to just go from training for hours on end and have no down cycle.
