I don't think so. But the title of the poem might have been inspired by the song.
I've heard this one before, but I hadn't remembered the name so I didn't realize it until the story got rolling. I enjoyed it the first time so I kept listening anyway. Glad I did because I think I like your version better. I liked the use of the different voices, and the creepy voice you used for the thing in the woods was particularly effective.

To be honest, it's just a story. We read these stories because they are fun. Part of that fun is escaping to a world that is different from our current one. As a simple break from the normal day, it's alright to enjoy such fantasies. After all, it's just a story.
