MTB Rijssen highlights
Went MTB' ing in Rijssen, the Netherlands, with some of my coworkers. Fun was had. Also, these guys were way quicker than I expected. Reverting to my XC hardtail after having spent most of the riding season on my trail fully did not help as this is a lot more twitchy. Blah blah, excuses excuses.

These are some of my favourite flowy bits at the MTB route in Hellendoorn, the Netherlands. A quick XC route with some short but tough climbs and overall a really good flow. Highly recommended to ride this if you're able. It's being actively maintained, as can be seen at some point. Hope I didn't give that guy a heart attack... I've put some pretty powerful lights on my son's and my own SCX24. Now that twilight / darkness falls a little earlier we went to some hiking trails around sunset to get some neat footage :)
Cycle for Hope 24H MTB Team Trial 2022

Mountainbike clinic drops and jumps

My first formal experience with drops and jumps, aside from the occasional semi-accidental launch. I'm a bit of an XC guy, but recently got me a full suspension trail bike to expand my possibilities for more serious shredding. Jumps didn't quite click (had a few good ones, but most were barely off the ground), but I was pretty happy with how the drops went. I only almost died once...
SCX24 with Orlandoo light bar

A little showcase of the grey Chevy model SCX24 with an Orlandoo light bar mounted to the top. I designed a custom holder for this light bar and had it 3D-printed, and I am powering the light bar via a step-down converter to get the appropriate 3V supply (I've actually turned it down to 2,75V). It is insanely bright, as this video shows... It's not an epic crawl / ride, just some goofing around...
SCX24 overland adventure

I've been adding little details to the SCX24's. The jeep has a bit of an overland adventure kit, with spare fuel canisters, a spare tyre, mud plates and a tent (a.k.a. a piece of cloth rolled up). To carry all of that it's got some no-name metal shocks and a more powerful motor. I also upgraded the servo.
SCX24 night ride

Wanted to see if I could make a nice video of a night drive, using (almost) exclusively the SCX24's lights. The result is a bit dark and blurry, but I liked it enough to share it anyway :) It's the grey Chevrolet C-10 model, with brass wheel weights and I installed some LED's. Other than that it's stock. Music is from Coma Media; track is called Deep Ambient. Really liking it :)

Indoor crawler course for SCX24

I got myself and my son each an SCX24, and decided to build an indoor course for them. Inspired by Berm Peak Express and 2FM RC, I made a wooden structure on castor wheels of about 100x200cm, and used old cardboard boxes to create a base. Tamiya Blazing Star restoration

I restored my 10-year-old Blazing Star after it had been gathering dust for 7,5 years... Replaced the motor and ESC, Cleaned and revised all gears and differentials, Cleaned out all ball bearings and drive shafts, Removed excess play on suspension and shock absorbers (yes, this was necessary!) Currently running LRP ai runner bullet reverse ESC and LRP 14x2 brushed motor (V10 Spec 5). Soundtrack...

@@reallybigphilly If so, remember that you wanted it yourself 😉 How did you do the sand effect, did you sprinkle it on the wet glue?
@@JPGrc No, I mixed sand with latex paint to get a somewhat gritty paste and covered the course in that. Also tried with thinned wood glue but didn't think of using a spray bottle... But I think my method makes less mess as you won't have to sprinkle sand all over. Pro tip: after the paint is dried, go over the course with a brush and vacuum cleaner to get anything that isn't properly bound off the course before you spray paint. Guess how I found out this was a good idea 🤔😉
