Ian Thomas - Is Your Metal Heavy?
มุมมอง 158ปีที่แล้ว
A fun little tongue-in-cheek tune by the superb Canadian musician Ian Thomas, taken from the rare 80s album "A Wankers' Guide to Canada". A portion of the tune can also be heard on the 1989 horror anthology film "Freakshow". Rock on, wankers!

For all those who love John Candy and/or SCTV, here is my music video tribute dedicated to the man, the legend, the national treasure. It showcased the typical broadcast day of a small, very-low-budget...

Canadian comedy classic
OMG this is hilarious! I wish I could find SCTV on a streaming platform. Any thoughts? NOT YOU, MARGARRT!!😂😂😂
Loved his Kirk Douglas impression
All this time I thought this was a weird dream I had after falling asleep listening to the Germs.
Legit punk song
Is this on Spotify?
I used to watch SCTV as a child, and never really understood much of the humour. I knew that it was one funny ass show though!
What year was this?
SCTV ran from 1976 to 1984 - this sketch is from 1983.
“Peter, why don’t you disconnect your own Buzzer” 😂😂😂
Classic.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where has this gem been hiding.
Sure do enjoy those game show parodies on SCTV. 😆
HAVE YOU NO CARE FOR THE WOMEN !!!! I grew up watching SCTV. I think I saw one of the half wits Laurence Orback in the crowd. He still has hope one day of becoming a wealthy psychiatrist.
A classic! Its sort of Planet Claire...thats actor Gene Mack as Mad Dog Melvin Brown (UM/DE)
Who played the lead singer? He was incredible!
SCTV ruled!!!!
For me, SCTV was the best show on television. A screwball interpretation of society, we laughed at conventions as they all crashed down to the ground. Calamitous brilliance.
so. this is where Rammstein got there start
Wow I thought it was just a myth that Eugene Levy had two distinct eyebrows
A lot of Americans wouldn’t know that Alex Trebek started his carrier doing a show in Canada called “Reach for the Top”. It was teams from local high school competing against each other. My older brother appeared on the show with his high school team. They won several times but lost later in the finals. Since the show appeared live there were several incidents. My brother team was warned to watch there language by Alex after swearing live on TV. My Mom was mad but Dad and Grandma giggled. Ah…the 70’s
Martin Short's "teefs" are a riot, and I saw his dance moves years later, in a Sugar Ray video....
Sorry not to see Catherine O'Hara
It’s a hard question.
Who was the lead singer? Jim flaherty?
Martin Short.
I'd like to see Jimmy Glick cover this one
Joe Flaherty undoubtedly grew up watching Chiller Theater -- a Pittsburgh tradition. Blood-sucking monkeys from West Mifflin, indeed! He was channeling George Romero, too. RIP, Joe!
My guidance counselor was useless as well. He only talked about his divorce. 😮
Eugene Levy must've been watching Planet of the Apes (or Gene Simmons) when he decided on that hairdo. 😂
That punk song is on my playlist in 2024!! Best punk song ever!
Stunned is the word for most Canadian comedians.
SCTV had the best lineup.
This was the hippest show on TV in its time; and, its unique sense of humor is still unsurpassed on North American television. KITH was also great, but it lacked the sophistication of SCTV.
Priceless
Give John Candy the drummer some glasses and would look like the Cenobite -Butterball from Hellraiser!
The show was awesome....few things I liked about the 80s
Wow that’s a different look than I’m use to from Martin😂😂
Ha😆
MAGA voters have a game show
HAVE U NO CARE FOR THE WOMEN
Start rolling each other in the street, cut to rolling down the ravine into the creek ! LOL
Wait, is Martin Short belting out those vocals himself or just lip syncing? Pretty good if that’s actually him.
" Have you no care for the Women"?
Watched a lot of SCTV growing up but never saw this skit. 😂
Didn't they open once for Spinal Tap?
I love when the camera pans to the crowd and mel is the only one loving it. Lol.
I miss John Candy
Saw these guyss in 87 at BCGC
Very cool.
1:57 John Candy rules
Just brilliant.
