Glenwood is beautiful! Where did you stay? What did you see? Did you go in the Hot Springs? The canyon and Colorado river are beautiful! I have been to Glenwood 4 times. 3 by train. Never gone any further... maybe someday. So glad you went and experienced it! Welcome home!

I have taken the Zephyr many times over the years between SLC and Chicago, and every time there are rafters on the river, many moon the train as it passes.

Still enjoying the west..😂

Superliners on the Illinois Zephyr?

Will you pick it up there? You will love it!! Wave at Mike in Ft Morgan CO. He does the same thing.. catches #5 coming through in the morning. Coach or roomette? You will love the views, the commentary going through the mountains and Glenwood.

Wish you well on your CA-Zephyr trip. Hopefully you won't have the event that happened on my trip. My train was 3 hours late departing Chicago Union Station ( CUS ), then sat in a yard siding around 35th street for another 3 hours. I think that the food & drink was not on board the train, but was finally uploaded at the 35th street yard. So we were 6 hours late leaving Chicago city limits. And, of course, we were still 6 hours late arriving at Denver, and in departing Denver Union Station ( DUS ). Now the normal schedule will have the train going thru the Rockies ( all the great scenery ) starting about 3 P.M. so there is plenty of daylight left for viewing & photo/video. But when you are six hours late, you are at nightfall & pitch-dark... But I must give Amtrak credit for doing the usual train-wash, to get the outsides of the windows all clean so we could see the pitch-black outside... where the Rockies were also, presumably... What a waste of equipment. Those cars were built for long distance trains, not commuter trains. I’m not against the train service itself, but rather the use of the wrong equipment for the job.
