What's inside of this ruined fortress? - Exploring the Vordingborg Goose Tower
Today we are exploring Vordingborg Castle and the famous Goose Tower held within.
Vordingborg Castle is a fortress ruin in Vordingborg, Denmark.
The castle was first built in 1175 by Valdemar I Knudsen, also known as Valdemar the Great or Valdermar Atterdag. He was king of Denmark from 1154 to 1182.
The castle was built as a fortress to launch raids along the German coast.
King Valdemar II used the castle to further expand into the Baltic Sea.
By the time of King Valdemar IV’s rule, the castle had expanded to it’s current size. Although then it had nine defensive towers and an 800 meter long wall. Now only the Goose Tower remains. The castle was partially demolished in the 1800’s to make a palace that was never used. This video is an exploration of what’s left at Vordingborg Castle.
Legend has it that the goose adorns the top of the tower because King Valdemar I was more worried about a flock of Geese than the German Hanseatic League’s declaration of war against him.

Part of This Church Collapsed Into The Sea! - Exploring Stevns Klint in Højerup Denmark
มุมมอง 83ปีที่แล้ว
In this video we explore the old church in the town of Højerup and Stevns Klint which is nearby. The old church in Højerup has been around since 1250. On March 16, 1928 a rockslide caused the chancel of this church to fall into the Baltic Sea. There were no injuries though as the church had been closed since 1910 due to concerns about its location. They build a new church nearby, which you can ...

Exploring Vallø Castle in Køge Denmark - A short look at the history of this place
มุมมอง 68ปีที่แล้ว
In today’s video we bike through the Danish countryside to Vallø Castle. Built as early as the 14th century and completed in the year 1586, originally this castle was a manor house. The castle has four towers and a moat. In 1893 the castle was destroyed by fire. Fortunately they were able to rebuild it in just over 10 years afterwards. In November 1737 the castle was converted by Queen Sophie M...
Uncovering MY Family Roots in an Abandoned Lutheran Church - Rural Poland
มุมมอง 174ปีที่แล้ว
This abandoned Lutheran church in Zielin Poland was the location of at least two of my ancestors confirmation ceremonies. My Great Great Great Grandfather Wilhelm Heinrich Hobus and his son, my Great Great Grandfather Johann Heinrich Hobus lived in this area in the late 1800's and we have records that show they were confirmed here. My Uncle Chuck Hobus explains the history we know about our anc...
What will I find in this abandoned decaying church - Exploring Flint Michigan
มุมมอง 298ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I explore Flint Michigan. I start at the University of Michigan Flint Campus, take a drive downtown, and eventually find my way to an abandoned church. There is a lot of beautiful art amongst the decay in Flint. In retrospect, it was probably safer than I was lead to believe. However, I did do some quality exploring in the town and enjoyed it. The church I found was located at 402...
What Lurks Inside the Abandoned Jungle Habitat? - West Milford Jungle Habitat
มุมมอง 389ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I explore the West Milford Jungle Habitat. A former amusement park that featured wild animals. I first heard about the West Milford Jungle Habitat from a friend. He told me that there used to be a park with wild lions which was abandoned. Since I love to explore abandoned places, I took some time to check it out. The habitat is now part of a larger area named Long Pond Ironworks s...

Uncovering the mysteries of Destroyed and Abandoned Van Slyke Castle with my Dog
มุมมอง 74ปีที่แล้ว
In this video Spot and I explore the now abandoned Van Slyke Castle. This mansion was built in the early 1900’s by a wealthy stockbroker named William Porter. The mansion was built atop Fox Hill and named “Foxcroft” by Porter. When he died in 1911 he left the property to his wife Ruth who later remarried a man named Warren Van Slyke. Ruth died in 1940 and the castle sat vacant for many years, e...

Tennies and happy shorts. Wtf
I remember watching the videoclip from "The Uninvited guest" by Mercyful Fate as a kid. I recently found out it was filmed in that church. Now I want to go visit 😊
I take Christmas lights. Depends on the scrap yard, but Ive been getting around 24¢ a pound for it. With Christmas around the corner everyone’s been chucking out their old not working lights, so last week I got 52 lbs of it. Came out to about $12. Not too shabby.
So what does the different percentage mean?? 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
Just cast never heard it called auto cast. Dirty cast maybe
Auto cast is "unbreakable cast" worth alot more per ton vs reg cast iron.
Strip the Christmas lights and it's #2
We called it viet-now 1 from palisade to Baldwin viet-now 2 from summit till kennedy
Interesting memorial
Mac’s removal
Is the entrance to the bunker still there? And if so where is it? I’m gonna be in cape may on the 17th and wanna explore the inside
I got fifty cents a pound for Christmas lights on my last trip to the yard I didn't have to remove the light bulbs either, I just left them whole
I've seen many a seagull eating popcorn and raisinettes im the Wall Mart Parking lot. Also during the high school lunch time I've witnessed seagulls eating discarded packets of ranch dressing, left over pizza, cheeseburgers, tacos, burritos and fruit cups along with cookies and yogurt cups.
So do you open them or sell as is ?
I'm trying to learn /get into scrapping metals ...any tips . How can I clean the copper wires after I take the coated plastic stuff off...what's the best . Can you always make any copper clean and bare bright again ...and what do you mean when you say % recovery
Get yourself a stripmeister absolutely brilliant got mine to day 200 on amazon well worth it av just striped a boat load in no time at all
Am going to put a vid up soon to show how it realy works the vids out there arnt very clear and I'm formative
😂😂not sure how this makes me feel hahaha😅
My great grandpa was a concrete foreman on the site during construction.
Cool video! Here is an interesting thing: according to property records, the tunnel (or at least the parcels above the tunnel) is owned by NJ Transit. NJ Transit took over Conrail's *passenger* lines in 1983 but that tunnel and the line were already abandoned in 1957, so NJT might have received "free real estate."
Wish there was I knew about each one.
If you run all that coated throught a wire stripper it becomes barebright
Wasn't even all bare bright. Some of it in video was burned
Who else can't stand that damn torturous voice anymore??
Handsome dude!
Man u quited?😢
I want it!!!
Ill take any cable even Christmas lights. Great video.
Great work, buddy!

I found it, nevermind :)
😱
Correction- i work for a lighting company, we decorate big buildings. Sometimes these decorations stop working after years of damage. To sell them back to scraps, little over 4 grand. Mind you this is tons of Christmas style lighting
I would agree with you that there is still value in bulk Christmas lights. A lot of people seem hung up on that in here haha

Hi
Hi
I've been exploring this place for over 10 years, night and day. The best time to explore it is during the late fall, winter & early spring, then there are no ticks to deal with. I've seen some crazy man made structures out there and some of the underground. I have 2 videos and here is Part 1 of my Gopher Munitions videos - th-cam.com/video/MQlAoemcobo/w-d-xo.html
Nice!
@@PaulHobus Thanks. You got really good ground and drone footage.
if you come to vordingborg again, i will take you to the local pizza resturant xanthos.
That would be a great time!
👍🖐🖐
they used to call it the poor farm
It was definitely a poor area. Thanks for the view!
I need copper wire scrap How many price copper wire scrap I want to buy copper scrap metal Send me more details .. sir
Unfortunately I don’t have those answers for you. Please look elsewhere.
I love my Danish country
It is a very beautiful place! I can’t wait to visit again.
were is it plz tell me i live on staten island and theres an abandon mechanic shop somewhere on the island
I did not see an abandoned mechanic shop.
@@PaulHobus its on the other side of where u were its like on the edge of the island
When you say the percentage and recovery what does that mean?
Great question. Percentage of recovery is the ratio of copper weight to total weight. The value is in the copper and once it’s stripped, you know how much was there in relation to the insulation. So if you have 100 lbs of wire and when you strip it, you get 75 lbs of copper and 25 lbs of insulation, the wire is a 75% recovery. Which would be applicable to similar wires of that grade. Hope that helps explain!
MOBIL nomber pls
I’m about to visit ny for the first time , do you think I should be fine visiting here
No.
Nah its not safe. Place is falling apart!!!!
The bare bright is number1 not BB
Incorrect. I worked in the industry and was using industry grades to make this video. That box sold as Bare Bright.
Lol
It only took me 30 minutes to cut all the lights off, and suddenly it's worth something . Maybe I'm just not lazy
Don't confuse activity with productivity
@@PaulHobus well it's not fun but it makes your scrap worth more so if you have free time and you're not spending it making your scrap more valuable then I'd say you're not at maximum productivity
If u burn be very careful
@@PaulHobus that is true as hell
@@ronhofer1444some places around me won't take it anymore 😮 Ohio
There used to be an opening in the side of the wall facing the electrical facility where you could get into this massive tunnel system that went for miles in multiple directions. The main tunnel was like an underground river.
I am hoping to get back in there at some point and see more! Thanks for this!
Nice 👍
Thanks!
Those percentages are wrong.
Lol ok
Just curious, I’ve been just collecting copper for a while now prolly have about a hundred lbs. if I melt it down and make ingots is it worth more or best to just strip and clean?
That is a great question. From my experience, you're best off just selling it as is. The time you put into stripping it, or time + energy cost of melting it, is not worth the value you would get back out of it as a delta from what it currently is worth unless the process of refining it is something you genuinely enjoy doing. Yes, it would be worth more the more refined it is, but if you have to spend money/time to get to that point, it may not be worth it for you. So you'll have to answer that based on how busy you are and how enjoyable it is to strip and melt copper wire. The large scrap companies do it at scale and spend a lot less money per pound than you would which is why the prices ratio out based on copper recovery as I noted in the video. I hope that helps!
@@PaulHobus ok thank you for the tip, I’m looking into building a furnace just for the fun of it anyway lol. I think I’m just gonna melt it all and keep stacking until I run out of storage
@@dads_diydid you ever build the furnace to melt insulation🤔
@@dads_diy sell as is scrap yards will rip you off if you try to give them a copper Ingot because they’ll say they don’t know if you got other metals mixed in with it
Cool
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
don't drive there hard to find parking
Very hard to park, yes! I recommend taking the 7 train to it's terminus.
