Moïse Bombito CLOSE To JOINING Olympique Lyon!
มุมมอง 172หลายเดือนก่อน
Colorado Rapids & Canadian International defender Moïse Bombito has now emerged as a transfer target for Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyon. Bombito has had an incredible season in the MLS and a transfer to one of the worlds best leagues is looking ever more possible now. But should Moïse Bombito join Olympique Lyon?
Amazing! Might have to start rooting for Marseille now and watching them more often. 😂 Also, thanks to the channel owner for always being one of the first to report breaking news like this! Thank you! 🙏
This sucks. I'm really happy for our Canadian boys, but I just can't support a team with a loser like Mason Greenwood on it, even if he signed with my favourite club it'd be tainted for me.
You are justified in being disappointed but give Marseille a chance, their fans are legendary
watched him against Villa, hit the goalie with an open goal and put one past the post from 5 yards out, NO THANKS
watched him play second half v Villa, he ain't good enough for Celtic and at the money your talking about, NO WAY
I didn't realize he's only 21. He's a great young talent, and Celtic would be perfect for his development imo
Completely agree! Would be a great club to transition into Europe with.
Solet me get this straight, Celtic and Rangers both pass up on Theo Bair for a reported fee of 1.5 m Euro's but would rather have Russel Row and pay him around 5 million Euro's...Makes perfect sence?🤔
JRR more than likely will not start at Celtic or Rangers. While Theo Bair will likely go to Auxerre and be knocking on the door to be starting in Ligue 1.
@@ontherise- I get what you're saying, do you really think Celtic would fork out 5 + M Euro's for a striker to sit on the bench? Even if he was coming off the bench, he would have a chance to showcase himself maybe a year and a half to develop more. The thing is EXPOSURE. Playing in Europe = way more eyes and scouts. I see the move as great, because he's currently coming off the bench for Colorado anyways. Why not do it in front of more eyes...Cheers
@@Philly466 I've heard it's 2 million that's been quoted.
@@Ian_3108 I'm glad you heard that Ian -- 👍
@@Philly466Ian forgot to tell you that big jock knew 😂😂😂
Celtic, with more than 1 bid rejected already. Knowing us, we tried to bid £5, a cinema pass and a free stadium tour for up to 4 people.
Celtic
what are your thoughts about the potential transfer?
Any idea of a club? 🏴
Its our club that's put in a bid
What are your thoughts on the potential move from a Celtic point of view?
thoughts on the move for Celtic?
@ontherise- at this moment it's just speculation but if he did join us he would have ali Johnston to help him settle. We need a tall striker for certain games he's still young and got room for improvement. That's the sort of player we go for. I've not seen much of him so can't say if he's any good. What's his strengths and weakness?
@@ontherise-big jock knew 😂😂
look like a very good pick for AJA , welcome to Auxerre
Is it true that his agent is the problem why he still hasn't moved after all this time?
His agent definitely has been one of the issues in trying to find a move. Hasn't been the only reason to not getting a move but his agent and agent fees have been a problem when looking for a transfer. Most teams just aren't taking a risk on Ligue 1 players and a lot of clubs are having to tip toe around FFP right now as well.
@@ontherise- I seee, I hope he gets his move!
Bienvenue à L'AJA 🇨🇵
It’s 1.6million with a potential of 500k add ons
interesting would definitely say it's a fair price for Bair
Can you tell us more about the player! Now he's played for AJ Auxerre, "my" club of my city! He seems havings skills, is tall, don't seem bad! He is young! Who gets some informations? I hope that is a good transfert, recruit! We must stay is the ligue 1 (best football league in France!)
Absolutely love seeing an AJ Auxerre support here. I love seeing Bair join your club I think he will fit the league perfectly especially with his size and style of play. I will have a more in depth video around his play style and why the move makes sense for both the club and the player. From a supporters stand point do you think he immediately starts for your club?
Auxerre finished top of the table so they are feeling themselves a bit. I like that he's going to a club with a winning attitude, let's hope they can stay up in Ligue 1.
His French is very good too which always helps.
I was so happy to see Theo can a few minutes against Uruguay. I never realized what a big boy he is. He's got an enormous presence in that striker position and would love to see him raise his game and become a regular contributor to the national team.
Yeah same here! Theo deserved a chance in Copa such a physical and strong striker but also has the pace and anticipation to run the channels. I really think he should've started some matches at Copa over either Larin or Tani I think his playstyle suits David's game more.
Appreciate these updates! Try to remember to mention the position players play for those of us who are learning of them for the first time. This one sure sounds exciting!
A signing with huge potential
I agree needs to go play at a higher level
He is an exciting player, his physical profile is rare at 6.5 feet ''
He's Italian 😉
My Q. To you do think in your opinion Marseille will play in a system that would help him with the Canadian National Team and the Jesse Marsch system?
I definitely think the Roberto De Zerbi play style at Marseille will translate very well to the national team. System and formation wise De Zerbi sets his side up in a 4-2-3-1 which is definitely a big difference to Marsch 4-2-2-2. But RDZ plays a very ggressive and high pressing style of football. Which will relate to Marsch extremely well having Kone playing a high pressing style on the front foot on a weekly basis will massively improve his skill set for Canada. I will also make a very in depth video on the transfer looking at the formation and tactics with graphics on how Kone fits into the lineup and how De Zerbi will look to use him.
Glad you brushed up on your prior thoughts from Kone to Marseille and your hesitancy to have him play for Marseille. Also, i think the friendly with France is what got Kone wanting to play in France.. He probably seen the countryside and the Wine Vinyards and everyone speaking French. I think thats what did it. And no matter if any EPL Club came knocking or a Roma side showed interest. I think France for Kone will be suited perfectly. As a 22yr old i look at Kone like a young David...Play in Ligue One for a few years, perfect your kraft. In a few years maybe you'll be ready to be a starter in the EPL.. Anyways there should be no doubt that Kone should be starting for Marseille.. And a side note i find it nutts that Kone is already getting 15 Million Euros, and David might be leaving Lilles for just a little more then Kone's transfer fee...Crazy
I appreciate it! But I am still a little hesitant of the move with how chaotic of a club that Marseille is and how they are managed. But I still love the transfer for Kone as being a priority for RDZ is major! I totally get the step to Ligue 1 and learn his kraft more and then Prem. But we also have to remember Marseille is a massive football club with lots of rich history as champions league winners and also have such a incredible fan base. So Kone doesn't necessarily have to view this as a stepping stone transfer either. It is wild to think that David won't be going for much more either truly shocking.
Theo Bair has signed with the newly promoted Ligue 1 Auxerre
Marseille 😬😬
Rangers FC are looking to bring him in. If thats the case he can possibly be playing Champions league football. He has had a superb season for Motherwell and is the kind of Player Glasgow Rangers lack.
That is very interesting! I have yet to see any reports linking Bair to Rangers yet but that would be a very exciting transfer. Are you a Rangers supporter by chance?
Sorry he join Auxerre in ligue 1
Seems like a perfect fit. Quality league, quality team, and a solid opportunity to be a consistent starter with a rebuild in defence. No language barrier and limited cultural issues.
Completely agree! Very rare to see a player find such a perfect side to join that checks off every single box like this move. Would love to see this deal happen and we now have Kone to Marseille as well.
@@ontherise- West Ham is looking at getting O'Brien so that would free a spot and money for Bombito
Super exciting news. Gotta get all our boys in the top leagues ahead of '26.
Exactly very important! Matches against top national sides and playing at this level is already proving to help earn big transfers.
Lyon is apparently checking out Shaffelburg as well but I've only seen one unconfirmed source of that.
He might stay in England with West Ham since he already lives there playing at Watford. He also wants to play in the EPL. I agree with you that the best fit for him would be AS Roma.
What do you think of Kone deciding to join Marseille new project with De Zerbi?
I think Eustaquio would have been the better choice, but Davies will be fine provided this assignment doesn't encourage him to play more hero ball. We need Davies to play HIS position very well, not play positions he's not good at.
I truly think Davies has rose to the occasion a proven why he was given the captaincy. Been really good so far in the Copa America and has looked like a leader playing a lot less hero ball.
I love Davies, but he seems like a joker and a little immature. Eustaquio comes across as more level-headed and professional (he gives me Atiba vibes). However, I'm not in the room with the boys so I have no idea what these guys are actually like. Davies seems like a fun guy and is one of my favourite players but fun guys aren't always the one's you want leading you into battle. Let's see what happens, and hope he takes the captaincy seriously.
Eustaquio as vice captain will be there to provide the side eye to Davies when he strays. I'd rather Stache be captain but Davies is the face of the team
This is all a business decision. Davies is the face of the team with sponsorship deals for jerseys etc. This is why he took the penalty at WC and most likely will again. (Should be Larin). Not impressed with decision, but now that he has it, maybe he will stick to his position at LB and not worry about scoring goals.
Nope, David has now been designated to take all penalties and there was no designated penalty taker at the WC. Davies took the initiative on his own and they let him.
To be fair --- the organization around a midfield 2 was never there before. Even when oso slotted back in that game the 2 was working, unlike the first game against Netherlands (or every game prior) Hutchison gave us the ability to go 3 in the mid as he was super responsible and knew how to move the ball from back line to front. This era will be solid if marshes system continues to progress this well. Only thing we need to still figure out is how to get the 9s a solid ball from the wings or from the mid field 2, because they were well defended and held to practically no shots.
I do think that Marsch has already been able to get the tactical discipline out of our key players in the most key areas does show his quality as a manager. I think previously we could've ran a Staqs and Atiba pivot which under Marsch would have worked too very well. Yeah if Marsch tactical system is able to work and keep the players disciplined it'll be very exciting. Very true though our 9's haven't gotten a load of chances I still sit in the camp that David needs a 9 along side him like Ugbo or Bair who can run in behind and stretch the backline but also take their chances when it falls to them. Larin hasn't shown his quality this season with Mallorca and doesn't seem to fit Marsch style of play. The matches against Chile and Peru will show how well this side can create chances.
@@ontherise- Larin is still the best one touch scorer on the team, and managers love him for his hold up. I was just shocked that he was asked (in these two games) to keep pushing the line rather than defend from the touch line forward. I wonder if that was intentional.
I got a feeling that was intentional from Marsch and it was a set up. I have found it very exciting watching Larin continue to press and show the extra effort on the front foot in the Copa America matches.
Love ZBG, but don't think he makes the 11 at Lugano. They brought him in for depth.
Yeah I think your right! But with Champions league qualifiers , League games, and Swiss cup there will be rotation and a chance for ZBG to prove himself to start.
people downplaying the result need to re:check that starting 11. The only player not playing in a Champions League contending tier club is N'Golo Kanté. Thats a team that should smash Canada every time.
Couldn't agree more! This side France put out is arguably better than the lineup they put out in the world cup final discounting Mbappe and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Really surprised by this! Thought he was destined for CPL as MLS clubs took a pass. To jump to Europe in a good league, but more so for a Champions League team is huge. I think the level is really good and a great fit to push him, but just surprised a team like that took a flyer on him.
Yeah it really is a shock move! CPL seemed so much more of a realistic destination after not finding a club for so long. This is a wild transfer but truly a move that more Canadians in MLS need to be trying to make.
Love the move. Nothing against the MLS but we need more and more of our younger talents moving away from this league. Europe is where they'll learn the game on a deeper and more tactical level. The coaching, development and footballing environment in general is what our national players need. MLS is great for career journeymen but not for players who have the desire to actually get the best out of themselves while they're still developing. Great place to start, just get out when you can is all I'm saying. Congrats ZBG!
Exactly! MLS is a league that has greatly improved and nothing against the league but second tier leagues in countries such as Sweden, Scotland, Switzerland, Austria and others are perfect. As the coaching, training, atmosphere, and demand to win on a weekly basis is always going to be at a higher level in Europe. Especially these leagues will constantly have scouts watching on a weekly basis especially the bigger clubs can see first handed when they go head to head. But nothing against the MLS its still a great league in its own right.
Happy for ZBG. I thought he showed promise when I watched him for Canada. Admittedly, I didn't follow his career in MLS. I'm rooting for the guy! Hope he revives his career. Also surprised he's just 25. Good luck to the lad
Great chance now for ZBG to take a huge step in his career if he takes his chances in Switzerland. Yeah I had to have a double take myself when initially checking his age.
Even if France may not having been giving it 100%, they’re still professionals playing at the highest level in the world. Not to mention it was in their home country. Massive result for Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Completely agree! I think there hasn't been enough credit to Canada for getting a result away in France that's incredible not many nations can say they have done that to often.
@@ontherise-euro teams try HARD in pre-euro friendlies - they literally picked a fast / strong Canadian team to test their pace and athletic ability against
Millar was good but don’t you think he turned the ball a bit too much or was it a lack or work in progress chemistry with his teammates?
Lack of progress chemistry with his teammates is easily attributed to the fact he has hardly played at all for the National team with the A listers like Davies, Kone and David on the field at the same time. That said I thought he got much better as the game progressed and that strike had it gone in would have been amongst the best Canada has ever scored against a top tier opponent friendly match or not. He banged a few of those in with Preston this past season so it was good to see him give it a try from distance. Millar is currently looking for a club so hopefully somebody signs him up
@@mking283 good points, the lack of chemistry is very underrated in this discussion, I love what Herdman did for Canada soccer but in two games we looked more organized then we've ever had. It will be fun to see players like Millar grow in this new era.
I don't think Millar turned the ball over much at all. I think early on it took him just like the team a few minutes to settle in which saw Crepeau make two massive saves but after the whole team calmed into the match. Millar finished the game on 90% pass accuracy 36/40 which is incredible. The chemistry is a factor but also not playing much for Canada and against an opponent like that as well it takes time to get used to it all.
Completely agree with everything you said! Millar was never given an opportunity under Herdman to prove himself with Canada's A team for say. With Marsch giving him the chances Millar has truly rose to the occasion just like at PNE. That shot from distance was remarkable with how well he played deserved it to drop in for him. Yeah few clubs in Premier League and higher end Championship are looking to sign him which will probably happen after Copa.
Absolutely agree with you Herdman was the right man at the right time. To take Canada and guide the young group on the right path and put Canada on the map and set us up for a better manager like Marsch. Who tactically has made Canada look miles ahead from where we have been in the past few years.
One positive thing about this game it put a lot of good publicity on kone and Eustaquio who could use transfers
I think Eustaquio is well known internationally now but I agree.
Very true among others in the squad like Bombito who already has Watford admit tweeting about him.
I think he is well known but not at the level that he truly should be at.
I think France played quite casually without much urgency, which was just enough to allow Canada to stay with them. Very good result but don't read too much into it.
Yeah France didn't play with the same type of urgency as they will in the Euros but they still showed throughout the match that they didn't just turn up as a friendly they showed they were still using it as a warmup for the Euros playing their best team with great moments throughout.
@@ontherise- Agreed. It was a good result for Canada, but to France it was simply a good workout against an athletic side who were unlikely to threaten France with a win. I never said France didn't show up. They simply kinda coasted.
Yeah exactly I think it was a perfect match for both sides a huge opponent with massive pedigree for Canada before Argentina and like you say France got to test themselves against an athletic pacey side.
I thought L. Millar was excellent as well, and Kone moving to Roma is a real possibility
Yeah Millar is such an underrated player and his role under Marsch will be extremely important with Davies playing LB. Yeah Roma must be preparing that offer as we speak now before other clubs come in for him.
