มุมมอง 582 ปีที่แล้ว
On this day we joined a tour group that we ran into the day before that had an entire trip of Mayan ruins and Cenotes along with lunch planned out. Definitely did not regret the experience though. The guides were wonderful, and it wa...
Exploring Abandoned Buildings in Merida, MX
มุมมอง 3882 ปีที่แล้ว
Found what was an old abandoned banquet hall and event venue called Ciudad Maya right outside of our air bnb. There isn't a whole lot of info on it, other than it was active during the 70s and shuttered during the financial crisis in the 80s.

I used to live in that abandoned house that was built in 1905. My family rented it in 1965-1966 while my father was stationed there at the Army recruiting station. Very fond memories of the area. I believe the lady that owned it it was Mrs. Roby or Robie. Nice video.

I remember summers in Mt. Hope with the grandparents. One summer, our father gave us some change to goto the movies...they made my sister and I sit in the balcony. When we returned to my grandparents house, my father asked us how the movie was...we were excited to sit in the balcony. When father heard that, he put his shoes on...and we walked back to town, to the same movie...where we sat downstairs....I'm 69 now...and remember that vividly. Didn't know what was going on at the time...but yeah....they made my sis and I sit in the balcony. Interesting stuff.

The WVU men's basketball team played a game at what is now known as the community center in March and 1941. They lost that game to West Virginia Wesleyan. Then Massachusetts Senator John Kennedy visited our town when campaigning for the presidency in 1960.
